ARCH 100 B Fundamentals of Design II | Spring 2014 “Good Food” explores the spatial diversity that can result from the simplicity of the grid. It welcomes the public with a mixed-used plaza, interrupted by a diagonal cut that resluts in the circulation core. It also becomes a visual link between introverted and extroverted spaces. The regulating lines of the grid manifest themselves delicately on the façade and, in some instances, create a delicate display of light. Amongst the program is an auditorium, multiple kitchens, classrooms, and a museum. The building’s façade consists of limestone panels (porous, correspondingly with program), a ventilation gap, and a layer of rigid insulation that connects to a structural system of steel studs and reinforced concrete. This environmental system enhances the quality of the indoor environment by maximizing the use of natural ventilation and shading, while reducing the need for mechanical air conditioning.

potrero hill library +San Francisco, CA
ARCH 100 A Fundamentals of Design I | Spring 2014 The new Potrero Hill Library executes an understanding of books, or information, as a solid. Conceptually void, the structural elements that penetrate to the top of the building enable the floating mass of books, while creating opportunities for light, circulation, and playful reading nooks. These voids create dynamic spaces for gathering and sharing ideas, enhancing both public interaction and social encounter. The library’s main entrance consists of multiple outdoor reading spaces that create an open plaza, forming the underbelly of the proposed library. At the highest level, the voids both visually and structurally connect to form the trellis, a key characteristic of the reading garden--a space for meditative learning and contemplation.

design proposal +Santa Ana, CA
Meticulous Finish is a new auto detailing business that opened for service December, 2016. Working closely with the busniess owner, my role as a designer was to create a visual plan with a new aesthetic for both current and future locations of the business. My tasks included redesigning all interior finishes using the 6,000 SQ.FT. existing floor plan of the anticipated location, and generating a series of renders to be included as part of a larger busniess proposal. The outcome of the propsed design includes brighter interior spaces that will enhance auto detailing performance, and a clean aesthetic with updated lighting fixtures, flooring, paint, and signage to welcome and direct all clients.
