SYLLABLE STRESS What is it? and How I can identify it?


All words have syllables. One syllable is a part of a word and has their own single sound. Some words can have only one syllable e.g. cat and other words can have more than one e.g. base / ball. Let’s practice!! Consonant con/so/nant Dog

Idea: Try to clap your hands, one clap for each syllable.


Now that we know what is a syllable it will be more easy to understand what is a syllable stress.

Each syllable has a sound, the syllable Stress is : The syllable with the strongest sound.
