Mortal Instruments

Author: Cassandra Clare Published. 2007 (U.S.) Genre: Fantasy novel

The Plot: Clary‘s life changes after she and her bestfriend Simon went into a club and saw how a guy got killed and disappeared. She called help but no one except her could see the people who killed the guy. Clary gets interestet in Jace, who is a member of the group and she gets into the world of the shadowhunters – half human and half angel. Killing the demons is their mission in life. Clary gets into the group of the shadowhunters and suddenly, her mother gets kidnapped by demons. An exciting trip starts for her and her friends. They don‘t just try to find her mom, they also try to protect the world from the bad demons.

Recommendation: After vampires and werewolves, the new fantasy figures are shadowhunters. We like the book because Cassandra Clare opens a new world with her roman and the book catches the reader. In our view the book is written for boys and girls. Although the love between Clary and Jace covers a huge part of the book, the main focus is on the fantasy story and characters. So if you’re a boy or a girl, if you’re interested in lovestorys or fantasy, you’re going to love this book and you won’t want it to end. It‘s just a page turner.
