Practical missions are any activities that fit within one or more of the five core tasks of a Great Commission church. Here are some examples:

1. Entry (ministry that shows God’s love in practical ways and provides a context to share the Gospel) z Food distribution (Bellevue Baptist Church) z Serving through a church’s ESL program z Serving through Memphis Send Relief ministry center z Serving through Refuge Memphis z Serving through One by One Ministries or Life Choices z Serving through Calvary Rescue Mission or Ronnie Tullos ministries

2. Evangelism (sharing the Gospel) z Going door to door z Serving on a church’s visitation program z Sunday afternoons evangelism at Shelby Farms z College campus evangelism z Evangelistic Bible studies z Going on a missions trip

3. Discipleship (equipping saints) z Teaching a small group in a church z A discipleship/accountability group connected with a local church z Teaching a group of believers how to share the Gospel, study the Bible, pray, etc.

4. Healthy Church Formation (church planting) z Serving with a core group starting a church

5. Leadership Development (conducting some type of leadership development) z Training leaders in any area of church life and ministry life z Teaching a short course on a biblical doctrine
