RURAL ASSET MANAGER CENTRAL LONDON £ EXCELLENT REMUNERATION An exciting additional position has arisen in the Rural Asset Management team working on one of the largest and most diverse rural portfolios in the country. The Church Commissioners for England are a major financial institution, managing a high performing investment fund valued at over £6 billion. The rural portfolio comprises over 100,000 acres across 45 estates including substantial minerals workings, and is valued in excess of £600 million. This dynamic role involves working closely within the Rural Asset Management Team and reporting to the Head at a high level in ensuring the optimised performance of assets, the formulation and implementation of asset management initiatives within an agreed strategy, as well as working closely with the Strategic Land Investment team in the delivery of results. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and talented chartered surveyor to apply their skills on a portfolio of this scale and scope, within a highly-motivated client side environment.

The Individual

To work closely in the Rural Asset Team in the active management of the rural portfolio and the implementation of strategies to optimise performance. Provide a dynamic, “hands-on” approach to enhance the rural portfolio, to achieve medium and long-term objectives and provide specialist rural and mineral support to the asset management teams where required. Manage the output of the external advisors to ensure timely and effective performance working both as part of a team and with a high level of autonomy. Work with the Strategic Land Investment team to identify and deliver rural development opportunities. Represent the Commissioners and demonstrate enthusiasm in the drive to enhance the value of the rural portfolio as a whole.

You will be RICS qualified with demonstrable evidence of a broad understanding of the UK rural sector including strategic asset/ estate management. Have an ability to think strategically with proven skills in estate management of a sizeable property portfolio, whilst being able to deliver results, with accuracy and to deadlines. Possess effective negotiation skills coupled with the tenacity to deliver. Have a commercial approach whilst demonstrating integrity and enthusiasm together with excellent presentation skills. Be highly motivated, organised individual and capable of working under your own initiative and as part of a team.
