Great Northern Hotel London, UK A consortium led by Robson Asset Management was selected by King’s Cross Central to restore the Grade II listed Great Northern Hotel. Mace acted as the hotel’s design and build contractor and was also a co-investor in the project. Completed in 2013, the hotel comprises 91 luxury bedrooms, a bar and restaurant.

Greenwich Square London, UK Our Hadley Mace joint venture company was appointed by the Greater London Authority as the preferred developer for this three-hectare brownfield regeneration scheme. The development will deliver 645 new homes – including 50% social housing – as well as the construction of a new civic centre featuring a library and leisure, retail, healthcare facilities, all set around a new public square. Mace is a co-investor on this scheme valued at £135m. The Mace team is also providing services across development management, multi-disciplinary design services, implementing supply chain and construction works, and importantly providing local employment and training opportunities and apprenticeships.

Assam Place London, UK As co-investor, developer, project manager and contractor, Mace played a considerable part in the restoration and transformation of the former brewery and whisky warehouse at Assam Place. Working with joint venture partner Alternative Developments, Mace helped to secure the site, obtain planning permission, and develop and manage the delivery of a stylish, modern mixeduse facility. The project has achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

The Tate Modern Project London, UK Tate Modern welcomes five million visitors each year, more than twice the number it was designed to accommodate. As a result of this success the Tate embarked on an extension to the gallery, redefining it for the 21st century. Appointed as construction managers Mace is integrated with the client and design team for the development of the 11-storey truncated pyramid structure and was instrumental in producing the successful planning application for a revised design. Mace also negotiated a project management role to provide construction and buildability advice against the revised programme. The new structure incorporates three derelict underground oil tanks and half of a live switch station which has been specifically decommissioned.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office framework Worldwide Mace has been a strategic partner to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since 2005. Baha Mar Nassau, Bahamas Occupying more than 1,000 acres and with half a mile of uninterrupted beach front, Baha Mar will be the largest single-phase destination resort developed in the Caribbean. British Museum World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre London, UK The World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre will allow the British Museum to store, conserve, study and display its collection for the future. The £135m project will provide new storage facilities, conservation and science facilities, an exhibitions centre, and a logistics hub. In our role as construction manager, Mace successfully completed a 60,000 cubic metre, six-storey deep basement excavation, immediately adjacent to the Museum’s existing galleries.

Evelyn Grace Academy London, UK Mace delivered this specialist sports academy in London, which provides a supportive and stimulating educational space for over a thousand pupils and the wider community. The first school project to be designed by award-winning architect Zaha Hadid, Mace was appointed to the project by the UK Department of Children, Schools and Families – now the UK Department for Education – and the charity Absolute Return for Kids during the design stage.

The Quadrant:MK Milton Keynes, UK Network Rail’s National Centre in Milton Keynes, The Quadrant involved a challenging estate rationalisation for Network Rail, closing 15 buildings and moving 2,700 staff into one central base in order to generate £30m savings per year. Initially appointed in 2009 to provide project management and cost consultancy for the project, Mace completed the planning, design and procurement phases in record time. Hilton Bomonti Hotel and Conference Centre Istanbul, Turkey Istanbul’s largest hotel and conference centre, the Hilton Bomonti Hotel officially opened its doors to guests in early 2014. Appointed as project manager, Mace worked closely with the client’s development management and contracting teams to successfully deliver this multi-million Euro development. Mace delivered the project, including the hotel’s high number of five-star guest rooms, within an ambitious 36-month schedule.

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company Abu Dhabi, UAE Mace provided programme and project management to deliver the iconic Capital Gate feature tower, part of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company project. This ingenious building rises from the ground with a unique twisted diagrid design. As part of the wider Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre complex, the 33-storey tower features a five-star Hyatt hotel with 200 rooms. No. 1 & No. 2 Silo Cape Town, South Africa Standing on a sea front location, No. 1 and No. 2 Silo is a 22,000 square metre mixed-use development providing office and residential accommodation. The project formed part of the regeneration of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town. No. 2 Silo, the residential element of the scheme, comprises 31 one and two-bedroom apartments across seven levels. Appointed as project manager and principal agent, Mace oversaw the whole project from the initial feasibility, design and enabling work stages through to construction.

Shangri-La Vilingili, Maldives An effective logistics management strategy was key to successful delivery of this five-star resort and spa complex on a 150,000 square metre island in the Addu Atoll, the southernmost tip of the Maldives archipelago. Appointed as project managers, Mace had to co-ordinate the delivery of all the materials, from bricks, light bulbs and paint to cables, plant and tools, to an island located three days from Male by boat once they had passed through customs. The Mace Foundation
The Mace Foundation is a registered charity administered under the Charities Commission.
The Foundation also collaborates with Mace’s supply chain partners and key clients to coordinate charitable activities.
The objectives of the Foundation are to support charities and community endeavours that align to the values and vision of the Mace business. Causes which are important to Mace people and which make a positive impact in the communities where they work throughout the world are a particular focus.
To enable the on-going success of the Foundation, Mace provides for all overheads including marketing, communications, building services and aligning the Mace volunteering programme with the Foundation’s goals.
The Foundation supports Mace’s wider corporate responsibility activities such as volunteering, mentoring, education and employment programmes, and work in local communities.
Mace Foundation funding comes from three primary sources: donations, company contributions and fundraising events. The Foundation match funds charitable donations for both Mace employee and project team fundraising efforts. In addition, Mace has committed to donate the equivalent of 1% of annual pre-tax profits to the Foundation.

As a registered charity the Foundation works to support disadvantaged people and communities through four specific campaigns: •
Education and employment Addressing skills shortages in the construction industry and breaking down the barriers to employment through supporting young people into quality apprenticeships, training programmes and mentoring.

Communities Supporting community regeneration and development through community investment programmes and volunteering work undertaken by Mace employees. Particular focus given to those communities where Mace people work.

Health and wellbeing Making a difference to the lives of people impacted by health issues and people living in unsafe, unhealthy environments.
