Canopy Tops For Beds Arched or Flat Canopy tops Eyelet and Solid Colors. A canopy bed may sound exotic and out of reach. But really, a canopy bed can be made with a simple swag of fabric or by constructing an elaborate draped treatment. Our article about canopy beds will give you lots of ideas and pictures of simple and not-so-simple styles of canopy beds that will help to add romance to your bedroom. The easiest way to create a simple canopy for your bed is to hang a piece of fabric over the top frame rails of a structured canopy bed. But if your bed doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have a canopy frame, there are other ways to get the look of a canopy and to surround your bed in softness and color. You can achieve a very attractive canopy bed look by installing curtain rods to the ceiling, placing one over each end of the bed. Using either tab-top, tietop, pinch-pleated or gathered panels, attach the fabric to each curtain rod and let it drape softly to the floor. You can also attach a short rod to the ceiling, perpendicular to the head of the bed on each side. Hang the panels to the floor and tie back with a drapery tieback.

A dramatic crown canopy, also called a coronet, looks elegant in any bedroom. Attach panels of fabric around the outer edge of a half-circle of 3/4â&#x20AC;? plywood. This half-circle can be attached directly to the ceiling or floated just off the ceiling with L-brackets attached to the wall. You can add a romantic look to a plain-Jane bed by draping long fabric panels through a wooden or metal ring attached to the ceiling above the center of the head of the bed. Draw the fabric panel through the ring, pulling it down to the floor on either side of the bed.

Spread the panels out to display more fabric and frame the bed or drape the panels around the bed posts at the head of the bed. Another simple treatment is to install a ring on the ceiling at both sides of the head of the bed and draw the long fabric panel through both rings. Swag the area between the two rings at the ceiling to form a lush top frame for your bed. The panels should extend to the floor on both sides of the bed. If you install 4 rings, one at each corner of the bed, try drawing a long panel of fabric through each one. Be sure one end of the panel at each ring goes all the way to the floor. With four panels of luxurious fabric draped above and down the sides of your bed, the look is very elegant.

Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re talking about taking your lounge area up a level by taking it down a level! Check out these conversation pits & sunken sitting areas, they create a more intimate atmosphere in which to gossip over a coffee, or provide a little hideaway to flop down into for rest and relaxation.

Admittedly these areas require a larger scale of room to gain full effect, a mini pit would be in terrible danger of appearing more like a sunken bathtub, but you could obtain a similar conversational atmosphere by arranging your furniture around a central point in a room; instead of angling all seating towards a traditional fireside or television, place a freestanding or ceiling mounted fireplace, or coffee table, in the middle of the room so that everyone can gravitate around it.

A conversation pit or sunken sitting area can be part of your interior or outside living spaces, with the den-like spots looking equally chic in a living room or recessed into a deck.

Fun example of this sunken seating that are situated in the centre of a pool are woderful but be prepared to get showered by any passing swimmers. These look beautiful at night glowing with candles in the middle of the surrounding moonlit water.

ure, kids love animals and parents love designing kids’ rooms with animal themes. But this nursery design is a mean modern interpretation of the well used safari theme and has something very special going on. By day, it’s bright, friendly, and modern. By night, the pièce de résistance is revealed when this safari sanctuary is transported under a sea of stars. Click through to see it -- you are in for a real treat.

Before starting, what did you know you wanted to include, for sure? Definitely the starlit ceiling.

So, tell us, how many stars are there in the starry night ceiling? And what are they made of? The ceiling includes a few hundred twinkling stars via fiber optics, which were installed one-by-one in the crawl space. The stars were painted over to conceal them during the day, but they create quite a dreamy effect at night. The best possible nightlight, in our opinion. The stars do not brighten the room as much as they appear to in the extended exposure photos. What is your favorite element in the room? The starlit ceiling.

We wanted it to be natural and safari-like, without being too literal or girly, while keeping it with a contemporary feel. Were there any surprises during the process of designing the room?
