Student’s Worksheet A TASK 1 You have just received a letter from your classmate. Accidentally, you’ve spilt coffee on it and parts of the letter are now illegible. Ask your friend, who has got the same letter, for the missing information. Start by writing your questions in the spaces provided.
Dear Helen, I’ve just come back from 1

Calabria. I can definitely say that it was a holiday of a lifetime. Everything about it was perfect! The food was 2
, the weather was hot and sunny and the beach
was quiet with white sand. I met lots of interesting people, who made the holiday really memorable. I had many adventures, not all of them pleasant, I’m afraid. Let me tell you about one of them. One day we decided to go on a one-day excursion to a 3 set out very early in the morning, planning 4

but everything went wrong. First, I realised that I had forgotten my purse which contained all of my money, and this basically meant that I couldn’t even afford that day! Then, as we were walking along the tiny streets of the old

town, we suddenly realised that we didn’t know where we were! Just imagine getting lost in a city where no one speaks any English with only a few euros in your pocket! And that wasn’t all! By the time we managed to find our way to the city centre and get to the bus stop, the hotel bus had already left. We had to hitchhike to the hotel and it was a real nightmare. Fortunately, that was just one bad day during the entire holiday. Other than that, we had an amazing time. You need to come and see the pictures. Does next Friday suit you? Let me know, Lisa
