£13.50 / £12 (CONC) / £5 (STUDENTS & SCHOOLS) WINNER - BEST PRODUCTION 2012/13 Critics Awards For Theatre In Scotland I keep a tight list. Very detailed. I stick to it. Even more so since she died. But I’m having trouble. Winner of the prestigious Herald Angel, Fringe First and CATS Awards, The List is a masterpiece of modern storytelling. Maureen Beattie (27, The Enquirer) stars as a woman struggling to adjust to rural life. Increasingly isolated, she keeps her life in order through obsessive list making. As her marriage struggles she befriends Caroline. When Caroline requests a favour she adds it to her list. The difference between remembering to do it, and neglecting to take it seriously, becomes the difference between life and death.

£13.50 / £12 (CONC) / £7 (STUDENTS IN ADVANCE) / £5.50 (SCHOOLS) The latest must-see show from London Classic Theatre, back at macrobert following their sparkling production of The Importance Of Being Earnest. Emma is married to Robert, a publisher. But for seven years, she has been having an affair with Jerry, a literary agent and Robert’s best friend. Betrayal begins after the end of the affair and pursues an intricate, gripping journey back to its very beginning. In a brilliant device, time is turned upside down as the play charts significant events in reverse. A ruthless exploration of the complexity of the human heart, Betrayal is Harold Pinter’s most accessible work, enthralling and provocatively layered.

SIMON TOWNSHEND (THE WHO) SOLO ACOUSTIC PLUS SUPPORT FROM
END OF NEIL SAT 14 SEPTEMBER 8:30PM £12 / £10 (CONC) A familiar name with an original sound, Simon Townshend is a member of one of British music’s most famous families. The son of England’s top big-band reed man and baby brother of The Who legend Pete Townshend, Simon has been recording and performing since the age of nine, when he was recruited to add vocals to The Who classic, Tommy. He went on to successfully release six solo albums as well as being guitarist and vocalist in The Who since 1996, playing monumental performances at the 2010 Super Bowl and the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics. Simon has also performed with numerous other established acts including Jeff Beck, Pearl Jam and Dave Grohl.
In 2002, Joe Douglas went on a gap year trip to Uganda. Amidst the six week blur of safaris, white-water rafting and orphanages, Joe made friends with Ronnie... Ronnie was 16, Joe was 18. They were both the eldest sons of large families. They both supported Manchester United. Six months later, back in Manchester, Joe got a text: “Brother my sponsor has pulled out on me and I want to stay in school. Can you help? Ronnie x.” That text was to change both of their lives and inextricably link them together. An astonishing true story, written and performed by Joe himself, Educating Ronnie takes place over a decade: 4000 miles apart and thousands of pounds invested, it explores the murky processes behind bettering oneself in Uganda. |

TUE 17 SEP 8.00PM £14 / £12 (CONC) / £7.50 (STUDENTS)
Mark Thomas is well versed in the art of creative mayhem and over the years his troublemaking has changed laws, cost companies millions and annoyed those who most deserved to be. Now he returns to what he does best, mischief - joyously bad behaviour with a purpose. After his award-winning show Bravo Figaro Mark sets himself the task of committing 100 Acts of Minor Dissent in the space of a year. Mark catalogues everything from the smallest and silliest gesture to the grandest confrontations and the results are subversive, hilarious, mainly legal and occasionally inspiring.

SAT 21 SEP 7:30PM £10.50 / £9 (CONC) / £5 (STUDENTS)
A dynamic, absurd and uplifting theatre piece about forgery, castration and blind drunkenness. Liz and Jim are small-time con-artists who need £250 grand to buy their way out of a turf war. Their mission is to be the greatest art forgers in the world. There’s only one problem. They can’t paint. Originally developed with support from the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed at the British Museum, this fast-paced, provocative and boisterous caper from the multi-award winning David Leddy finds the incongruous connections between verbatim theatre, free-market economics, the psychology of ‘truth’ and a castrated labradoodle in a classic Chanel clutch bag.

RODELINDA TUE 15 OCT 7:30PM

£14 / £5 (UNDER 26) Against a backdrop of faded Baroque grandeur, a cast of very contemporary characters tells a compelling tale of tyranny, love and the corrupting nature of power in one of Handel’s most successful operas. Bertarido, King of Lombardy, has been defeated in battle and his enemy Grimoaldo has seized his throne. Bertarido's queen, Rodelinda, mourns bitterly, little knowing that her husband is feigning death in order to exact revenge. Alone in a world of ruthless Machiavellian intrigue, where every wall has ears, she agrees to marry Grimoaldo. Sung in English, Scottish Opera’s Rodelinda is accompanied by three instrumentalists on harpsichord, violin and cello. The sensuous score is full of fragility, beauty and darkness, contrasting moments of frantic energy with those of exquisite stillness, reflecting the human passions at its core.

nce Upon A Time in a far, far, faraway land - further than even Falkirk - lived a handsome young Prince and a beautiful young girl named Belle. Stirling Stella is not a happy place. The recession is STILL in full force and Bunty Buntock is concerned about her two children, Belle and Sebastian... Belle is sick of men especially her psycho-ex Gaston, who keeps slapping his thighs and declaring Belle his prize. All Belle wants is her equal (oh and to win the Stirling Stella Showchoir competition). Sebastian is tired of being the silly billy, if only the local evil witch Valentina Rizzla would notice him. And think on poor Prince Matthew Creepy-Crawley, confined to the ground of Bouffin Abbey. He used to be the heart-throb of Stirling Stella, and now thanks to an evil curse he’s scarier than Bigfoot. Who would know that a stolen rose - and a Showchoir final - would change their lives forever. The greatest love story in the pantosphere as you've never heard it before. Part Grease, part Downton Abbey and a whole lot of fun! Sponsored By:

The MsFits present their Edinburgh Fringe award winning show I Spy Mrs Peery, written by multi award winning BAFTA nominated playwright Rona Munro and presented by award winning comedy actress Fiona Knowles. A story of mystery, intrigue and suspense, more violent than a crash diet, more spine chilling than ice cubes down the back of yer nightie! Mrs Peery sees it all from behind her net curtains, she never crosses her own door step but she's plenty to say about the state of her neighbours. What would she do if the big bad world got in through her nets?! A thought-provoking slice of life focussing on three female neighbours.
“This one-woman show sweeps the audience off their feet with its hilarious, yet at times extremely moving performance.” Press & Journal

Your gift - smiles, confidence, skills macrobert takes dance and drama into communities to help children learn new skills, grow in confidence and experience the thrill of live performance. You can support this work by sponsoring a seat, making a regular donation, or giving a small donation when you buy a ticket. Every little helps. “We did not realise the macrobert is a charity that depends on funding from various sources and due to the current economic climate, funding organisations are having to reduce their support. We have been delighted to join Just Giving in a small way to help a favourite arts venue. We want it to flourish so we can carry on enjoying evenings out close to home!” Janice and Tom Ward, Silver Supporters
