Tanja Liedtke’s Twelfth Floor Characters emerge and unravel in this darkly funny physical exploration of human interactions in confinement, set in a mysterious institution. Five extraordinary dancers play out shifting relationships of desire and power, of hope and despair. A rich combination of dance, theatre, movement, video and DJ Tr!p’s moody soundtrack make a sophisticated and original work, shifting effortlessly from tender, lyrical moments to brooding menace to explosive physicality.

All The Thoughts I’ve Had Since I Was Born In 2008, Mark Watson won Best Show at the Adelaide and Sydney Comedy Festivals, completed a 100-date tour of the UK, Australia and New Zealand, recorded the second series of his cult Radio 4 show, trained as a climate change lecturer under Al Gore, performed another 24-hour show, published his third book, and continued his regular appearances on the likes of BBC2's Mock The Week. He is one of Britain’s most talked about comedians, but also, is quite tired and a bit stressed. He returns to the road with a brand new show where he describes his attempts to reclaim his sanity.

“Watson could make a binary code a showstopper… he takes no prisoners” Metro

The Al Pitcher Picture Show Every day we see things we’ve never seen before, things that strike us as odd or beautiful, and things that we’ve seen so many times we don’t even notice them any more... Not Al Pitcher. His mind is constantly twisting, flipping and distorting what he sees, igniting the mundane and weaving the events of his day in your town into a unique and hilarious one-off show. Every comic will tell you that a ‘funny thing happened on the way to the gig’, but, camera in hand, Al has the pictures to prove it! What does Al Pitcher make of Stirling? There’s only one way to find out...

featuring Alyn Cosker directed by Tommy Smith Buddy Rich was renowned for his virtuoso technique and explosive solos. In a career that began in Vaudeville when he was only eighteen months old and already known as Traps The Drum Wonder, Rich played with Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and Charlie Parker, sang, tap danced and acted. He formed a big band in 1966 which inspired posthumous tributes including Burning for Buddy, the all-star album produced by drummer Neil Peart and featuring many drumming icons. In Spring 2009, the SNJO tour their own tribute with classic Rich charts including West Side Story, Big Mama Cass and Nutville.

All is not well in the world of Ranyevskaya; the family are losing their home and beloved cherry orchard forever. Set against larger-than-life characters, wonderful live music and Chekhov’s dazzling dialogue are the painful emotions of a family forced to move on from their ancestral home in a society that is changing forever. In this brand new adaptation, The Cherry Orchard returns to its comedic roots, bringing all of its colour, energy and vision to life. Yet wherever there’s comedy, there’s tragedy too!

Those who saw Hofesh Shechter here at macrobert last season will be delighted to hear that Shechter has choreographed the first piece of the evening, The Perfect Human - a dark unsettling piece that questions our search for perfection. In the second piece, Still, the audience gets the chance to experience a very different style of contemporary dance.
