Who We Are and What We Do: The Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) is a dynamic organization whose members are actively engaged in the field of education technology. It was established in 1975 to provide teachers, administrators, technicians and support personnel with a forum for sharing knowledge about the many ways computers and technology are used to support education and ensure student success. Today, MACUL has over 8,000 members across the state. MACUL supports its members in a variety of ways including an annual conference held in Grand Rapids (even numbered years) and Detroit (odd numbered years), smaller regional conferences, conferences on various current topics related to education technology, a quarterly Journal, grants for innovative uses of technology, and through a Ning community of over 5,000 educators from the United States and 42+ countries, and through advocacy initiatives. MACUL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
