We are MADA a young architecture office from Belgrade. We strive to take on projects that are different, with a lot of problems and restrictions and to make them work. We embrace a good challenge!

We have done everything from Venice Biennale, set design, exhibition design to landscape architecture and housing projects.

An office that can dream, that is enthusiastic, creative, resourceful and hardworking!

We hope to stay like this throughout the years to come.

Kalemegdan

Playground is designed

by the highest level of EU standards (EN1176).

On the other hand,

the morphology of the new design is adapted to the morphology of the adjacent surroundings, famous hills of upper city of Kalemegdan fortress, the very core of Belgrade.

Project Info 2013 The design of the playground is a result of a careful analysis, numerous interviews with children’s parents and huge cooperation with public institutions. The bearer of the appearance is the landscape, so called “hills” that are designated to become one huge toy for kids, but at the same time to make kids more independent and skilfull.

The solution is sculptural as one of its dimensions is emphasized i.e. enlarged to a monumental size.

ITS SIZE TRANSLATES IT INTO A SURFACE.

Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s height relates it to the notion of table. We occupied the interior of the pavilion with one designed gap.

Project Info 2012 Solution that we offer is a table which with the surface of its plate almost entirely fills the pavilion. By denying or inverting the scale we wanted to bring the object to its extreme meaning i.e. the universal, indivisible, sculptural, banal.

LARGE SURFACE IS PRETTY. IMMENSE SURFACE IS BEAUTIFUL! We wanted to emphasize a term - large empty area. The relationship between the table surface and the volume of the pavilion creates tension and defines its value. Perception is the theme that arises and that belongs to the atmosphere the most. Simple is associative and is subject to diversity in perception. Impossibility of perceiving the object as a whole and its transition to the surface is what makes it beautiful.

Project Info 2011 Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s unique position gives a sense of importance. The interpolation of the old and the new, imagined, object was the main theme of the proposal, as well as the relation to the main square of the city.

Design a huge fountain and choose a position for a famous and a bit controversial monument from the center of the present square.

Clear construction design and a lace-like layer of roads above the plate.

Project Info 2012-2013 The solution we offered is one huge plate under the square, providing all the necessary requirements, simultaneously solving the biggest problem of intersecting of pedestrian and car traffic. Clear construction design and a lacelike layer of roads above the plate are showing our intention to make the square familiar to the visitors.

Slavija square is one of the biggest traffic knots in Belgrade, therefore in whole serbia. Reconstruction of the site has been a topic of several competitions and numerous discussions.

that is smoothly hovering over the present beach that is used to emphasize the equilibrium of the new-born structure and the adjacent environment.
