There was once a very lonely old man who walked along the beach every morning. But, this wasn’t just a typical day. The old man was in total dismay as he noticed millions of starfish washed up all over the beach. As he walked along the shore with starfish all around him, he saw a young boy at a distance. As he got close, he noticed the boy threw a starfish into the ocean. The old man asked the boy, “What are you doing, son?”. The boy responded, “I’m saving the starfish, sir.”

The old man told the boy, “Look around son, there’s millions of starfish. How could you possibly make a difference?” At that moment, the boy picked up another starfish, looked at the man, and threw the starfish back into the ocean. Then the boy replied, “It made a difference for that one.”
