PATTERN STITCHES Stockinette Stitch (St st) Circular: knit all sts every round Straight: knit on Right Side, purl on Wrong Side. Garter Stitch (Gtr St) Cirular: Round 1 purl Round 2 knit Three Needle Bind Off Method: Slip the sts from holders onto each of 2 double pointed needles; with the RS of garment pieces together (to form ridge on inside of garment), hold the needles parallel. With a third dpn knit the first st of front and back needles together, *knit next st from each needle together, (2 sts on RH needle), BO one st; rep from * until all sts are BO.


BODY With longest circular needles, CO 92 (102, 112, 122, 132, 142) sts; pm for beg-of-rnd and join to work in-the-rnd, being careful not to twist sts. Begin Circular Gtr st and work for 46 (51, 56, 61, 66, 71) sts, pm to separate front and back sts, work rem 46 (51, 56, 61, 66, 71) sts to end. Work until pc meas 1” from the beg. Change to Circular St st. Work until pc meas 121⁄2 (13, 13, 131⁄2, 131⁄2)" from beg, end on a WS row. Next Rnd Divide for front and back as follows: Work all the way across round to last 2 (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) sts. BO 4 (6, 8, 10, 12, 14) sts, removing marker, work to 2 (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) sts before marker, BO 4 (6, 8, 10, 12, 14)sts — 42 (45, 48, 51, 54, 57) sts rem for each side. Work Each side separately. FRONT (WS) Purl. Shape Armhole, dec row: (RS) K2, ssk, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2 — 40 (43, 46, 49, 52, 55) sts rem. Purl 1 row. (RS) Rep last 2 rows 0 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) time. (RS)Rep dec row 0 (0, 1, 1, 1) more time — 40 (41, 42, 45, 48, 51) sts. Continue working in St st until pc meas 6 (61⁄2, 7, 71⁄2, 8, 81⁄2)" from beg of armhole, end RS row. Next (WS) Row: pm between center 14 (15, 16, 17, 20, 21) sts. Shape Neck: Work to first marker, join second ball of yarn, BO center sts between markers — 13 (13, 13, 14, 14, 15) sts rem on each side. Working each side at the same time: BO 2 sts at neck edge for 2 rows — 11 (11, 11, 12, 12, 13) sts rem on each side. Next RS row, dec row:(RS) Work to 4 sts before neck edge, k2tog, k2; on other side, k2, ssk, k to end. (WS) purl. Rep last 2 rows 1 time more — 9 (9, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11) sts rem for shoulder. Place sts on waste yarn or holder. BACK Work as for Front.


FINISHING With RS body pcs facing each other; join shoulders using the Three Needle BO method. Cowl: With medium length needles pick up 54 (56, 58, 60, 66, 68) sts, pm for beg-of-rnd and join to work in-the-rnd, being careful not to twist sts. Begin Circular Gtr St: Work 9 (9, 9, 10, 11, 11) sts, pm, work 9 (10, 11, 10, 11, 12) sts, pm, work for 18 (18, 18, 20, 22, 22) sts, pm, work 9 (10, 11, 10, 11, 12) sts, pm, work to end. Work in Circular Gtr St until cowl meas 2" from beg, end with a purl row. Shape Cowl, inc rnd: *Work to 1 st before marker, k1-f/b; rep from * 3 times — 58 (60, 62, 64, 70, 72) sts. Work 5 rnds as est. Rep inc rnd 1 time — 62 (64, 66, 68, 74, 76) sts. Work for 3 rnds. Rep last 4 rnds 4 times more. Rep inc rnd 1 time—82 (84, 86, 88, 94, 96) sts. Work until pc meas 8" from beg of cowl. BO all sts. Armhole: With shortest needles pick up 50 (55, 60, 65, 70, 75) sts, pm for beg-of-rnd and join to work in-the-rnd, being careful not to twist sts. Begin Circular Gtr St: Work for 1 rnd. BO all sts. Rep for other armhole. Block if desired.
