Editor’s Letter ashion and water. Water? Yes, water. Water that, with no doubt, is more than present, in a direct or an indirect way, in this season’s trends. The color for winter? Blue in all its possible tonalities, becoming the most desired color; from the darkest deep ocean blue, to the crystalline turquoise of Caribbean beaches. The must-have of the season? The gold-trimmed coats seen at Michael Kors or Dsquared2, which inevitably remind us of navy uniforms. When two months ago we proposed this topic as the new core idea for our December issue, the first word that went through my mind could not be other than unavoidable. Unavoidable, yeah; maybe it is the fact that as we live absolutely surrounded by water, we tend to look insatiably for the sea wherever we are. The Canary Islands, that paradise with sun the whole year and where everyone in Europe visits on holidays. But, is it there any absolute truth in this promise of eternal summer? Of course it is not. A tropical climate which makes us go through storms, gales and torrential rains, and which in the middle of August, may make us rescue our warmest coats from the deepest corner of the wardrobe we had set them aside. It is at this precise moment when we get it, and something makes us reconsider the concept of “water”. We want to distance from its boring summery essence, and bearing in mind those storms of maximum alert, we find out that the sea and a good oversized fur coat do not have to be opposed. A model on a breakwater, dressed up in her best

wintry pieces? Why not! But, with no doubt, the reigning aspect in our thirteenth issue resides in our models’ faces, with watery-effect make-up in juicy lips and funny eye shadows; wet and shiny skins under a radiant sun, or in a more evident way, spilling the liquid element all over their bodies. And the hair… Oh, the hair! From our cover page itself to the very last page of this issue, totally wet manes that refresh the looks and draw fanciful shapes with each lock. In brief, an edition that soaks its pages with reflections from the ocean, with foam at the seashore, with twilights to fall in love with, with ripraps that break the impact of waves and splash us with salt and the smell of Summ… Well, not of Summer. Let’s combine all these elements under the curious gaze of Winter that today begins, and we receive “ACQUA”, the issue in which fashion, as never before, gets soaked.

She is pop sensation across Asia, with a reputation for incorporating Trip Hop, Pop, New Age and Pop Rock, infused with rich oriental styles. Labeled as the ‘beautiful voice of China’ by the global media, she is also famous for her timeless beauty —the secrets of which she will soon share with an eagerly awaiting public in her new book. Here the musical icon Bing talks to MADE Now about her successful career and iconic fashion style.

Why did you choose London to begin your music career? I chose London because my first album was recorded in the UK, and co-produced by several Chinese and British musicians. The whole album features the convergence of the Chinese and British pop music culture. It is a mixture of Trip Hop, electronic pop and the international music. This in a way shows the charm of cross-border music and culture.

I am a travel enthusiast, going to multiple different places throughout the year including the UK and France. I have a deep affection for European culture, and British pop art in particular. The Chinese and English songs collected in my new album try to bring out the best parts of the Chinese and the British pop culture. I hope to be an ambassador to promote Chinese and British cultural exchanges and I am planning to launch a new single with British singers.

How do the world’s different cultures influence your music?

IN THIS DAY AND AGE PEOPLE ARE MORE FOCUSED ON CELEBRITIES’ APPEARANCES RATHER THAN THEIR WORK. Why are you often seen wearing a veil in public? In this day and age people are more focused on celebrities’ appearances rather than their work. By wearing a veil I hope to encourage people to care more about my new album and new book, than my age and appearance. I will soon release China’s first music/beauty book, where you can find my own beauty tips for eternal youth.

Bing’s most recent album will be released in late 2015. The album’s ten tracks will feature her signature magical ‘dolphin vocals’ fused with oriental mystery, lulling listeners into a state of relaxation, transporting them back to a nature, distanced from the earthy annoyances of daily life. • L.C.

Protocol Is there a protocol for a beach wedding?

At a wedding there are many protocols and they depend on the type of wedding. Therefore, for this issue of MadeNow, I have asked myself that question and I have come up with an answer: YES!

14 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

It seems incredible, but almost everything we do in our everyday lives has a protocol, and a wedding, whether on the beach (which seems more permissive) or not, is not an exception. The protocol is basically common sense (although it does not mean that all couples have it).

One of the questions is: How will the bride’s dress be like? It is probably the most important thing, and usually, the protocols according to the chosen site are not followed. Thus, a wedding dress for a woman getting married on the beach should be made of fresh, light and comfortable cloth, without rhinestones or bright fabrics, because it gives an image of little naturality.

ACQUA / MADE NOW |

15

And the groom’s suit?

No dark suits or bright fabrics. Like ladies, gentlemen must wear suits in fresh fabrics (preferably linen), and if possible in light colors. (if it is beige much better). A blazer is appropiate but they can even go without it if the weather is hot. They can also use no tie and thus they can go into the water.

16 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

And we cannot forget the guests. Ladies better forget about uncomfortable shoes and long dresses, because according to my reasearch, in beach weddings they should wear short, and although light colors are recommended, it should never be white, or similar. Gentlemen just as the groom should not wear dark or colorful suits, although they are allowed to wear navy blue pants. If a natural environment is chosen for the wedding, the wedding should keep that sense of nature, otherwise it loses elegance and charm.

Images: Beautyweddings/Musibodas/ TrangTriTheGioiTreTho

So when choosing a place to get married, you better check if the site is consistent with that idealized for the day, or if changing location is a better option. • F.S.

Always three At her 34 years-old, Julia is single and waiting for Orlando, a married man and his lover, to take a decision that at the bottom of her heart she knows that will never come. She does not succeed in her job and her desire to be a mother begins to get frustrated. She is only happy with the idea of living in a beautiful city, Ceuta, and with always being there with her good friend, Marta. Orlando, a renowned entrepreneur, lives immersed in his world of luxury and keeping up appearances to his friends. His marriage is not working. Margarita, his wife, refuses to end this situation. At her 50 years-old, she does not want to be alone. She feels insecure. She considers herself too old to start a new life. A casual encounter and some secrets will completely change the lives of all three.

Always three Memories of Julia

A new day was dawning, still half asleep, Julia gets up. She lights up his first cigarette and prepares coffee, “another day” – she murmurs. Julia is an attractive and very thin brunette of medium height, she looks very fragile. At her 34 years-old, she begins to feel the need to change her life. Nothing is as she had dreamed of..

Illustration: Carlos Carvajal

She’s really worried, she walks around the house very nervous, the anxiety is overwhelming; she doesn’t have much work and Orlando will not take her calls. It’s been several days that she knows nothing from him. Sitting on her couch, staring at one point and savoring the last sip of coffee, Julia is immersed in memories ...

light, its colorful streets, the stillness she will never want to leave. I’ve been here for 10 years now. I remember my first walks in Revellín, Calle Real, those sunsets on the beach of Chorrillo. I fell in love with this city and with Orlando. I hardly remember how it happened. I stumbled and fell, someone helped me up, and within days I was in his arms and madly in love. Orlando was 42 but he looked younger. Tall, blond, slender and with deep black eyes; He used to wear a suit (I like him more in jeans and polo shirt). He always wore a wonderful Cartier on his wrist, he drove a brand new car, and I imagined that he would live in a luxurious house and it was eventually confirmed what I thought. What struck me the most about him was his tidiness, not even the ambient dust would dare to settle on his clothes. Our worlds were very different; he was a great entrepreneur and a mature man. I was a 24 years old girl who worked as a personal assistant, a job that I liked and which was good enough to make me live with dignity, barely with dignity. Yet, we fell in love with each other.

“The first time I came to Ceuta I had a feeling of freedom. Ceuta smells like crowds, sea, fresh coffee, and mint tea; its

Marta, my great friend and the voice of my conscience, always told me what was going to happen, “JULIA, THEY NEVER LEAVE THEIR WIVES ‘’, she said. Even though I knew deep down that this was true, I could not give it up. Something in me had taken over in an irrational way. Falling in love is a drug. “ The sound of her mobile makes Julia come back to reality. “Who can be calling so early?” - she asks. J- Hi Andrea, how are you? A- Hello Julia, did I wake you up? J- Not at all, I’m getting ready to leave. A- Perfect! Look, this week you have to go to Algeciras, I need you to pick me up a dress at Lola’s.

20 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

It is for a dinner that I have with my coworkers on Saturday. J- Perfect, tomorrow I will go to Algeciras then. A- Look for an accesory. The dress is black. J- Something in bright colours? A- Yes, nice. J- Okay, I’ll take pictures and I’ll send them to you via whatsapp. Then you tell me. A- Good! I’ve got to go now. I’m very busy right now. Oh, I forgot, I have a customer for you, a friend of mine. I’ll call you later and tell you all about it. Take care. J- Okay. Bye! Julia is happy for a moment, more work as she needs. What she can not imagine is that her new client is Margarita, Orlando’s wife...

Illustration: Carlos Carvajal

I could not help it, I fell in love. Orlando made me feel unique (I suppose this is what any woman in love would want). By the time I found out he was married, it was too late. I was not aware of it, or maybe yes, I don’t know. In few days I hunger for him. I wanted to see him every day, hear his voice every moment, feel his kisses, his hugs, God, I needed that! It was as if my life had no meaning without him. I never felt something so deep, I was living in a continuous dream ... now it is different. Time changes everything.

Always three Julia has caught the boat early, she has to do some errands in Algeciras. Today she is particularly vulnerable. She sat by a window and left her imagination fly ... “What a beautiful journey, I had never noticed, in a journey of just one hour, two continents, Africa and Europe, meet. Today everything seems different, I look at the sea fusing in the deep blue sky, I can see ships coming and going, I look at the people who are around me: some sleeping, some eating, others walking ... Today everything looks different to me, I look at the children running, the smiling mother; Today everything is different, maybe today I need all of them not to feel so alone.

The next morning in front of the mirror Julia does not know what to wear, she is meeting Andrea to deliver her errands and her potential client to whom she wants to make a good impression. Across town Margarita gets prepared to meet Andrea. Margarita is a beautiful 50 year old woman with brown hair (always upsweep) and huge green eyes that reflect a great sadness; although she has lost the freshness of youth, she has the serene beauty given by maturity. Her life is not as wonderful as it seems; mother of one son, Orlando, she is very lonely since he went to study in Madrid. Her marriage never worked, loneliness is part of her daily life, so she needs someone to accompany her shopping and even on her trips.Rather than a personal assistant what she really needs is a companion.

I do not understand what has happened, what is going on now, I do not understand anything; sadness invades me, my heart aches ... so much love, so many promises and for nothing.”

- See you, Fatima! – Margarita says goodbye to the person who makes her home be always in perfect condition.

The ship’s public address system reminds we are entering Algeciras.

Julia walks fast, she is meeting Andrea in Revellín and she does not want to be late. She chose to wear a white blouse, a simple black skirt and flat boots; although she likes dressing well, she does not renounce to comfort.

After an eventful day, back to Ceuta, Julia falls asleep on the boat.

A few meters away, she can see Andrea and Margarita, her heart accelerates; - Orlando’s wife – she exclaims loudly-. She feels embarrassed by the

Always three situation, she lowers her head, - she might have raised her voice in excess – she murmurs . She knows Margarita, she has seen her strolling with Orlando in some occasions; the approach is not easy, her body quivers and she cannot breathe, she just wants to run away. Suddenly… A- Hello Julia! J- Hi Andrea, how are you? A- Well, this is Margarita M Hello Julia, nice to meet you J- Nice to meet you too A- Are you okay ? Julia is pallid J- -She statters- I do not know. The truth is that I do not feel well, some food must have disagree with me. M- Maybe if you take a camomile tea... J- Yes, it will do me good

During the course of the conversation Julia’s mobile buzzes, the screen shows: ORLANDO, she hangs up immediately and she puts the phone in silence mode while shaking again. A- Don’t you answer? Are you okay? J- Yeah, I feel better. She’s a friend, I call her later.

Always three Margarita explains to Julia what she really wants and that her work will be well paid. She gives her phone number and she asks her to think about it and to call her with the decision she takes. They say goodbye with a “Nice to meet you” again and Julia leaves. Finally when alone, Julia mutters. -What a hard time! – While she is walking, she thinks - I’m shaking, I never imagined that something like that could happen. For the first time Julia is aware that she is the other one. After walking a long time she decides to call Orlando. O Hi Julia, why did you hang up on me? J- If I tell you, you will not believe it... O - Tell me! J- But ... you complain that I hung up on you and you have not answered my calls in two weeks O Julia, please ... what do you have to tell me? J- I think I have a new client Oh well J – Don’t you know who she is ...? O- No, tell me J - Your wife O My wife? J- Yes, Andrea, a client of mine, introduced her to me. She wants me to work for her, more precisely, with her

O- Good! J- How do you say so? Don’t care? O- Should I? J She is your wife! If I work with her it will be more difficult for us to meet up. Also, I feel bad about it, I am the other one, do you remember? O- I do not know what to say, you’re the one who must decide. J- Lately, you know nothing – raising her voice O Julia, do not start ... J- Always the same, don’t you know if you want to see me? O - Please Julia ... The conversation turns into her reproaches and his indifference. Julia gets very upset, she notice she is about to lose control and in a moment of despair she shouts: I’m pregnant! She breaks into tears. On the other side of the phone she just can feel a cold silence ... • Y.C.

T

he title of this article makes it very clear: of the many fantasies which may come to the human mind, this particular one is surely that of a 90% of the population. A sex scene on the beach or by the pool, and even in the shower. The urge to dive into water with the person you love for all kinds of adventure.

24 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

In a pool-bath, watch out for chlorine, especially if you are not in a private pool. A wrong amount of this substance could lead to a terrible infection and it may even cause unpleasant fungus in the genital area. Surely it would not be a pleasant memory of the adventure. LUBE, it is necessary to lubricate the genital areas as with water contact, our natural lubrication disappears. It is very important to be prepared for this. It is best to use silicone lubricant, as in contact with water it will work fine.

Yes, that sounds lovely, but one must be very careful when it comes to reality. Certainly you probably expect something more romantic in this article, but I’d rather leave romanticism to lovers. Sex in water has to be very well-planned, especially the place, water condition, lubrication and protection:

Well, now you know all the facts about having sex in the water. There will be more than one fantasy like this coming true with nothing to spoil it. • F.S.

Images: Fotospix / Actualnet / WithLoveMag

Sex on the beach! That sounds great, but many risks are taken. We have to take into account tides, which must only fill up from waist down, otherwise, love could be dragged away and lose all its charm. On the other hand, attention must be paid to fines. There are plenty of beaches where fines can reach up to € 3000 and that would not leave a good memory for anyone.

PROTECTION, unless you’re 100% secure of your partner, in my opinion it is better not to risk unprotected sex. It is very important that you know that regular condoms cannot be used under water since they become much less efficient and in the case of heterosexual intercourse, it may lead to an unwanted pregnancy which can turn a romance into an ordeal (in this case it is better to opt for another means of contraception).

EXQUISIT ITALIAN

SCENT

We discover, thanks to El Corte Inglés, the exclusive ARMANI/PRIVÉ perfume collection, inspired by the Haute Couture creations of the Piacentini designer.

When in 2004 he began his path in Parisian Haute Couture, Giorgio Armani was ready to start another equally ambitious project, absolutely exclusive and prestigious: his own perfume collection which will be designed similarly to the stitches of his atelier in Milan. But, initially, not everything was perfectly planned. After not finding any fragrance able to satisfy him, Armani creates a perfume just for himself, which will be soon accompanied by some more bottles, dedicated to his most intimate friends. Encouraged by this close group, the designer began the commercialisation on a small scale, as he “didn’t want to vulgarise his creation with big campaigns.” If there is a reason why Mr. Armani is so famous, this is because of the continuous occasions in which his Haute Couture has been described as the product of a relentless instinct, as masterpieces of Nature, or as the designer himself has stated, as “the absolute mastery of handicraft.” All this impressions can be clearly seen in his luxurious perfumes, under the label of the same name as his Haute Couture, ARMANI/ PRIVÉ, with a needlework perfectly translated into the notes of his liquid scents: we talk about the art of precision, because as his dresses, in which “everything is studied down to the last detail”, the margin of error of his fragrances is of 0%, as everything is studied in millilitres by the best perfumers in the world —with the Spanish perfumer Alberto Morillas, creator of the famous

Acqua di Gió, among them. Under the attentive supervision of the creative director, these expert noses work with combinations of six to forty five ingredients, a tiny quantity if compared to the rest of perfumes available in the market. With this exquisite savoir-faire of the Armani atelier, the company always seeks to highlight one of the components over the rest. Noble components which must be indentified with a topic meticulously selected by Giorgio Armani himself who, in the words of the perfumers themselves, does not establish any limit to their creativity, except for the fact that they must stay close to the Italian spirit of the firm. This is how “Les Eaux”, the freshest line, inspired by Nature and legendary gardens all over the world, in which light is captured by is totally transparent bottles; “La Collection”, origin of the ARMANI/PRIVÉ fragrances, that drink from traditional perfumery with Occident touches, and among which we find Bois D’Encens, the first fragrance, used by Armani himself, whose whole empire “smells like this scent”; and finally, “Les 1001 Nuits”, with sensual touches from Orient, intense and spicy, inspired by the story of The Thousand and One Nights itself; are born. Under this three lines fourteen fragrances are created, worthy of being labelled as Haute Couture perfumes, carrying in each drop the same scent as the best patterns, cuts and stitches of the major luxury possible in fashion. • D.A.

To close the tap Some time ago, in the context of fashion cities, I was privileged to attend the lecture by Gema Gomez, founder of sustainable fashion platform SlowFashionSpain. Until then, I had read something about sustainability, but without getting into the details; that afternoon she opened a new window for me. Gema spoke very clearly and graphically on the havoc that the fashion industry, as we know, is having on the environment (not to mention human rights violated on a daily basis). Of all the things said in the hall of TEA, perhaps, what caught my attention was the section related to the cultivation of cotton and its enormous water consumption. Therefore, using the theme of this issue of MadeNow, I wanted to share with you some facts about it.

Cotton is one of the most used fibers for making tissue because it is cheap, natural and versatile. Personally, I would add that it is one of my favorite fibers: it has a nice touch, it adapts well to the body, perspire ... it can really be lovely. As a natural fiber, I had never thought its cultivation could be harmful to the environment, but it is not “bio” all that glitters. There is a European organization called MADE-BY, dedicated to sustainable fashion, and some years ago it produced a work that sorts the fibers according to their respect for the environment. It is a thorough investigation which classifies the fibers according to six different impacts, studied from the production process until the moment they are ready to become tissue: the emission of greenhouse gases that cause climate change, its toxicity in humans, its eco-toxicity, energy consumption, water consumption and the amount of land needed for crops. Thus, we obtain a rating ranging from A, those fibers more “eco-friendly” to E, the most damaging ones. It’s true that recycled cotton belongs to A category, and cotton from organic farming is B, however, conventional cotton is at the bottom.

28 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

One of the more controversial points with respect to cotton is the issue of water. Arjen Hoekstra, the dutch father of the concept of water footprint, estimates that to make a cotton shirt of 250 grams about 2,900 liters of water are required. This applies to cotton and to the subsequent processes for making the garment. If we raise it to a higher level (larger items or quantities of giant production) numbers make you dizzy. Gema Gomez goes even further and raises her voice to warn that “If we measure the level of toxicity of many rivers, especially in third world countries, 10% of the contaminated water is coming from textile factories, by residues of dyes and glue. Especially cotton present in many items costs some inordinate resources and we are talking about water that is not recycled. This, led to the extreme, causes situations such as the Aral’s “. The international consultant in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Pierre Huperts says that cotton is the biggest polluter in the world agricultural products: “Nearly 25% of insecticides and herbicides are used in these fields, and the employment of huge amounts of fresh water used for irrigation generates shortages for basic uses and a dramatic drop in water supplies. Washing and dyeing clothes also imply a significant damage to the environment, including pollution of river water. “ Honestly, having all this data makes me quiver and my consciousness goes upside down. Environmental ethics and health are rising values, but the information does not always reach the consumer in the way it should. It is difficult to change habits, but they are increasingly flourishing strong sustainable alternatives. Apart from companies that take care, control the entire production and rescue heal-

thier, sustainable and ethical production processes, there are global initiatives (still in its infancy) as Better Cotton Initiative, which guarantees us that the cotton we consume has been respectful both with the environment and the farmers. They also deal with providing training and assistance to farmers so they can grow in a more sustainable way this precious commodity. H & M, Ikea, Adidas, Nike and Inditex are some of the affiliates.

Organic cotton (it must be said that one can only use the term “ecologic when talking about cotton from ecologic agriculture, certified by an independent entity) is cultivated naturally in the earth, without using any pesticide, fertilizer or genetically-modified seeds. Instead of artificial fertilizers, natural practises as rotation of crops or the usage of compost; plagues are controlled using 100% biological methods such as autochthonous insects or using molasses traps. Animal traction is used, and cotton is hand-picked in order to avoid defoliant.

Illustration: Israel Castro

Obviously, much remains to be done and we are at the beginning of a long road, but it seems that this march is unstoppable. If we get to understand that water is a precious and scarce commodity and we try to save it on everyday actions like shower, we are only one step to take real awareness of the responsibility and importance of using it with caution and awareness in all other areas. • S.M.

BLiK

A multifunctional space which is born in the middle of a city that tries to revive concepts from the past with an absolutely modern touch. It is BLIK, the first hair salon, atelier and architecture studio in the capital of Grand Canary.

How is BLIK born? BLIK was born as a reflection of light, bringing our conception of each product as a personalized and next to the artisan work done in a workshop. That idea is also present in our architectural and stylistic concept, which is the basis of everything that seems to us interesting to discover, work and develop in life.

Hairdressing, Atelier, Architecture. How have you merged these three disciplines? Our concern for detail, beauty and attractiveness, made that we together could form a multidisciplinary team, but always with the same point of view when it comes to developing our profession. We understood that beacuse of our way of life, we needed to work and learn in a pleasant space, a space with soul that will give us a parallel safety in everything we develop every day. Thus, the Atelier is born, a territory of similar design to an art gallery. We look no further than for the similarity to a “workshop with our own designs and manufactures objects. This is the spatial connection between architecture and Hairdressing. We enter into a beauty journey where we make come true your dream at a material and personal level, a space where we talk about structure, proportion, shape, lightness, time, technology, materials, products, image ... a human approach to our profession, providing customers with exclusive and as familiar as possible advice.

You are a compendium of ideas but, what is the DNA of the whole?

Where did the inspiration or concern arise from for creating a project of this nature?

“We conceive every line in the most personalized way, next to an artisan work.”

We share the same idea of going back to the beginnings, to create workshops where hairdressing molds and worn out studies disappear. That is why we have created a friendly space where ideas and desires can be developed, a place which makes you lose track of time, something that controls us today. A space that struggles to draw the most beautiful lines in the design, lines as thin as hair, colours as accurate as your own, furniture as sweet as to almost become sculptures and profiled lines capable of forming different architectural spaces, minimal strokes sweetening light reflections, details which don’t reach beyond the dreams of those who wish and trust us to achieve them.

32 | MADE NOW / ACQUA

Was it always clear the final idea among the four members who make up BLIK?

Yes, we have always had clear the concept that we would be able to develop, but at the same time the term “final” has never bothered us because we understand it as an elastic process, a changing and chameleon-like project able to adapt to the times and the need in which we live today, to offer customers the most optimal qualities that this team is capable of providing, since the best project of our life is the one we have now on the table. We look for flexibility, we know where we are heading to, and where we want to arrive and also that we can learn and develop during the process. This is just the beginning.

Finally, what has been the most complicated thing you have encountered in the project’s development? The place, it has always been clear to us the idea of working in our nearest environment, Triana neighbourhood with its urbanite and historical character. So we struggled to find a proper place which fits all our requirements, an isolated refuge from the bustle of the city where we and our customers can enjoy the space and services that we create every day. All these flavours are now concentrated at a wonderful place.

“BLIK worries about the detail, beauty and attractiveness.”

In this #issue13, the “ACQUA” concept inspires us greatly for the different effects that can be achieved in makeup, even without any hint of makeup, by simply applying a few simple steps and tricks that will make your look be something different and special.

VinylSkin Effect We start with a perfectly clean skin. To do this, you can use a weekly exfoliation cream and enhance the brightness of your skin. Do not forget to always moisturize with a serum hydrating lotion and then a day or night face cream. To start with the makeup, prepare your base and regular correction fluid. Save temporarily compact, heavy bases, bar formats, powder or mousse. It consists in enhancing the wet effect on the skin and nothing better than a flat brush and a liquid base to create a perfect “match” in your skin. Choose an illuminazer - preferably liquid - and apply light spots on the cheeks, under the eyebrows and in those strategic locations to achieve a fresh and natural effect. To blur the lines, use the same brush or your fingers. Add wetness with a liquid blush applied with a sponge, making a healthy stencil on the cheeks. You can also extend it very gently with your fingers in order to melt the base. This action is very grateful for dry or mature skin. If you choose blushes with little flashes, you give a very elegant touch glam. For mixed or oily skins, end up with a slight brush with a touch of moisturizing powder to seal the T area.

The current trend diverges from smoke and matte effects that were seen in 2014 fall season, giving way to vinyl, patent leather and wet effects, which in our own skin, eyes or lips, make them protagonists in the celebrations of this season. So, we collect here a list of “wet” effects that can be achieved in our final makeup

Vinyl fect Eye Ef

If you want to highlight your eyes, you first have to consider that the makeup has to start with a good pre-base, and preferably a well-fixed eye shadow as a base color, so that the effect of moisture will not move at all. NARS pre-base and MUFE eye shadows cream, or GIORGIOARMANI “Eyetint” can be considered as flagship products to achieve this durability.

“For

shortterm effects, apply petroleum jelly with a small brush, or lip gloss will be enough.”

For a social and 100% cool makeup, begin with a healthy dose of pre-base very well spread around the eyes eyelid and then apply a cream shade with good coverage, well-fixed, as mentioned above. Finish with touches of bright pigments on the eyelid and as a ending touch, add the chosen product to give the vinyl touch. The market availability of different brands and products which already provide this glossy finish is very long, but with time, most tend to move and leave the pigments accumulated in the small folds of the eyelid. “Personally, I like clear gloss. But to use it all night, I prefer Vaseline since it does not tend to move much, and its pigments, if they move, help give a nice effect, and not the accumulation in the folds. Even if you do not want to makeup your eyes, caress your eyelids with a little petroleum jelly to give the effect of mild humidity. We can finish our look with a light coat of waterproof mascara.

“Avoid them if

long hair or windy weather; It could be

disastrous.”

GlossyLips “It’s my favorite wet effect! I use it whenever I can. “But first we must consider this advice:” Avoid them if long hair or windy weather; It could be disastrous.” I tell you from experience, it is awful trying to take your hair off your lips! “If this is not the case, daring with it will result in one of the most beautiful and impressive effects. To do this, you must apply a lip pre-base around the edges, to prevent bright textures and glossy lips move out. Then outline the lips with a permanent lip liner, starting from the center of the lip towards the edges. As a final step, fill it with lipstick: “the darker it is, the more striking the look will be” Then do the vinyl or glossy effect applying glossy lipstick with a brush a fair amount of transparent or colour gloss, thus enhancing its brightness and the patent-leather effect. “The visual impact will be extreme!” Try the different glossy effects in this “ACQUA” issue during these holidays, and dazzle everyone in all the events that you attend. • L.V.
