Father's Day

Father's Day

I have been travelling a lot with gigs recently, and various projects have taken up so much of my time that I had enormous guilt about neglecting my brood, so I took some time away from work and concentrated on having “family time”.

It also felt like a good opportunity to catch up with some friends that I hadn’t seen for a while. One friend in particular seemed to be having a stressful time so I volunteered to take her two little ones to stay with us for a couple of days, with the idea that my lot could help look after and entertain them. Only to find that my children have become incredibly self sufficient and had made plans of their own, which involved them hardly being at home! So I found myself run ragged with a pair of under fives and an all but empty house…. I’m going back to work for a rest!

Dear Jojo

My child keeps coming into our bed at night. I don’t really mind but my husband is getting annoyed.

Dear Caroline

There is something quite lovely about having a small person snuggled up and sleeping with you but they do get bigger and you will get annoyed soon enough!

Try not to let the habit form as it is much harder to break. But if you feel that your child needs that closeness then pop them back into their own bed and stay with them for a while. They will soon grow out of it.
