Team America French label American Retro has recruited six fashion bloggers to create their key style for autumn / winter 2011 – 2012. They’re being selected by their own blogs which are really cool. They’re featuring the designs of Kristin Knox, Valentine Fillol Cordier, Lu Yan, Melissa Cobos, Michèle Corty and Mimi Xu. The designs are really fashionable; leopard prints and hair pands are coming to fashion again. Reversible jackets and printed scarves are also one part of the designs from the bloggers.
Trendy T-shirts International week, which took place on 7 - 11.11.2011 at Laurea University of Kerava, proved to be a good time to check the students' fashion. How it showed during the week, it was the fashion for casual. However college tshirts

visitors. T-shirts had navy blue and university `s logo was posted in a very trendy this season`s bright blue color. Thanks to these T-shirts it was easy to identify staff of the adoption. In addition, T-shirts turned out to be a good advertisement for other higher education facilities and have shown how school uniforms may look good and trendy.

Beyonces fashion pregnancy Beyonce announced with her husband Jay-Z at the August 28th that she has plans for maternity line under her own House of Deréon label.
"All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman," Beyonce, 30, told Harper's Bazaar "It's been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowery fabrics are always flattering — but I still rock in my stilettos." Even though Beyonce is pregnant she has been showing off her glamorous pregnancy wardrobe including blazer on top of a equine mini-dress. She’s not obviously being ashamed of her pregnancy. Even when pregnant, she wants to be fashionable and noticeable. The star’s due in February 2012. And the next step for this is Beyonce’s new baby clothing collection.
Lady Gaga campaigns against bullying Fashion stars can do good. Lady Gaga probably one of the world`s most known pop-stars and fashion icons has started a campaign to change bullying into illegal action in the US law. This very authorities lady started her campaign after she heard that one of her teenager fan had taken his own life, because he has been bullied violently and also called in names, like homosexual, in the school. The boy was only 14-years old. He tried to find help through his blog writings, without success. Pop-star was crushed after hearing what had happened and now Lady Gagas’ own charity organization called Born this way - has now started a project to prevent bulling in schools. Gaga and her mom Cynthia are the mentors of this project. -We hope that the project will create to our society courage to protect those
who have been bullied in schools, Lady Gaga told to CNN. The boy thanked Lady Gaga in his last blog writing, before taking his life. He also wrote a text from Gagas’ song The Queen – “Don’t even forget me when I come crying to heaven’s door”.

Parka coat - This winter`s coolest jacket In this winter this mid-long, quilted jacket that has big pockets and either fake fur or authentic fur skirt in the hood is the trendiest coat to wear. The most used colors for the coat are army green, brown and black. The model for Parka coat comes from the United States` army`s flight staff` s clothing in the 1950s.Several clothe brands have their own versions of the Parka coat. The coats` prices vary from 50 € to 500€ depending on whether the coat has a detachable fur lining that prolongs considerably the coat`s usage time or not. You can see Parka coats in certain districts of Helsinki in every other passerby. Parka is a trendy overcoat but also casual, warm and practical. It is easy to combine comfortable clothes with it. Worn jeans, thick knit garments, low heel or army boots and long scarfs belong to this style.

Fashion on three continents Fashion is a word that can be translated to many languages - but - Is it always means the same thing? Do designers have an impact on the fashion over the world? Or maybe every continent, the nation has its own style ... To verify this we asked three women of three different continents. Questions to Kurumi Iguchi 1. How would you describe your style in fashion? Do you like it? Kurumi Iguchi: Actually, my fashion style is different here (because of the temperatures and atmosphere of the country etc...). So I'm going to write about my fashion style in Japan. I prefer "Preppy style". It's like a British girl and school girl style. 2. What are you following for fashion? K.I.: I buy and read a magazine every month. There are more than 20 kinds of fashion magazines, so everybody can choose one of them depends on their own styles. My favorite one is named "Ray". 3. Who is your idol (icon) in fashion? Why this one? K.I.: The models on the fashion magazines. My fashion icon is "Karina". 4. Which part of your clothes do you like most? K.I.: I like jackets. There are various kinds of jackets, and it can be casual or formal. 5. Do you have your favorite brand? K.I.: Yes. My favorite brands are "Abercrombie and Fitch", "HOLLISTER", "Supreme LaLa" and "Dolly girl by ANNASUI". 6. What do you think when you hear (the word) jeans? K.I.: "Jeans" sounds like casual and boyish.
7. What type of pants do you prefer?
K.I.: I prefer black long pants because black can fit with any clothes. But in Japan, I rarely wear pants, I always wear skirts.
18
8. Could your style be called "Japanese style" or Asiatic? K.I.: I think my style in Japan is very Japanese. 9. What is the style of your country? K.I.: In Japan, teenagers really care about their fashion and spend most of their money on fashion (It depends on person). Also I think there are no typical fashion styles, there are hundreds of fashion styles in Japan. We prefer to be different from others. So, they all have their own fashion style. 10. Do you find that what you wear shows to others who you are (what person you are)? K.I.: Yes. In my opinion, the clothes influence on the first impression of the person. With Manuela Sestayo Fernandez 1. How would you describe your style in fashion? Do you like it? Manuela Sestayo: I would describe my style as casual and unique. I like it. 2. What are you following for fashion? M.S.: I don't follow fashion. I usually put things together that I like and think would look good on me. That's how I fill my wardrobe! 3. Who is your idol (icon) in fashion? Why this one? M.S.: I don't have any fashion icon or idol but if I would have to choose I would choose Avril Lavigne because she as a unique style that mixes punk, boy clothes and also sweet and cute outfits. 4. Which part of your clothes do you like most? M.S.: The thing I like the most is a red Scottish plaid mini-skirt I have. It's really nice! 5. Do you have your favorite brand? M.S.: I usually buy my clothes in stores such as Pimkie or Bershka but I love the brand "Living dead souls" although it's a bit expensive. 6. What do you think when you hear the word jeans? M.S.: I think of comfortable every day wear that suits any type of occasion. 7. What type of pants do you prefer? M.S.: I love jeans! Specially boy cut jeans or shorts. 8. Could your style be called "Spanish style" or European? M.S.: I'm not sure. I think everyone has their own style regardless of where they are from. But, it is true that where you live might influence you choices as well as social and mediate pressure. In the end, my style might be called European. 9. What is the style of your country? M.S.: As I've said before it depends on each person. However I feel that girls tend to be very vain and are always worried about their looks. Most of them follow the latest fashion trends and dress like fashion icons. Boys are very relaxed and don't worry about their image so much although this is changing. They usually wear jeans and T-shirts or a sweater. It really depends on the person. 10. Do you find that what you wear shows to others who you are (what person you are)? M.S.: I think it does to some extent but you shouldn't trust appearances!

With Bethany Notebaert
1. How would you describe your style in fashion? Do you like it?
Bethany Notebaert: I would describe it as simple/ boho, yeah I like it, but I wish it was more sophisticated more of what a 19/20 year old would wear. 2. What are you following for fashion?
B.N.: I look at Pinterest.com, or Seventeen Magazine, or Vogue.
3. Who is your idol (icon) in fashion? Why this one?
B.N.: I follow (my idol are) celebrities like Julianne Moore, Lea Michele, and some of my friends. They have really unique but cute and classy style, and I like that. 4. Which part of your clothes do you like most?
B.N.: I like my accessories: my earrings and bracelets. And I like most of my shoes.
5. Do you have your favorite brand?
B.N.: I like the store Anthropology, Banana Republic, and Old Navy ( here are some links).
6. What do you think when you hear (the word) jeans?
B.N.: When I hear jeans hmmm... I love jeans, you can dress them up if you wear a fancy top with them, or you can dress them down and wear them with sweatshirt. 7. What type of pants do you prefer? B.N.: I prefer jeans.
8. Could your style be called "American style"?
B.N.: I guess my style would be called "American" I mean everyone dresses differently. I have heard from other people, not from America, that we were jeans more than other cultures and we wear shorts more,
and sneakers. Or you can really tell if someone is an American tourist because they wear shorts and white sneakers, but I don't really think that many people do, that might be a stereotype. 9. What is the style of your country?
B.N.: I think we like to be fashionable but comfortable as well.
10. Do you find that what you wear shows others who you are (what person you are)?
B.N.: Not really I want to wear certain clothes, mostly the ones in the links I showed you, but they are
more expensive and designed for skinnier people, so I tend to wear sloppy clothes, and that is not who I am/ want to show to others.

Charm and new style fashion of the 40's Fashion of the 40's style emphasizes promoted wasp waist, characterized by airiness and simplicity. Ladies desire to wear suits and short flippers extended from the waist skirts. Its was a big surprise because of the restoration of a balance of age, which was the first post-war Christian Dior fashion show. He presented the new trends, to recover the joy and isolation due to at least in part - from existential problems. The designer brought a new dimension to skirts and dresses, reducing them to mid-calf. He showed a number of additives, such as fancy hats, ribbons in hair, exclusive gloves and high-heeled shoes. The new style that came, was the announcement of future 50s. Fashion of the 40's, was officially divided into haute couture or high dressmaking and prĂŞt-Ă -porter, which meant sewing clothes on a larger scale.

Fashion what’s it?
Fashion is something that divides people`s opinions and that affects people in different ways. Some people think that fashion is a big part of their life`s when others simply do not care much about it. I interviewed four people between the ages of 21 21--51 about fashion and its meaning to them. This is how they responded to the interview. 26
What comes to your mind from the word fashion?
Elisa, 21: From the word fashion comes to mind clothes, make-up and the whole outfit. The word fashion also arouses different moods: excitement, passion, cheer and enthusiasm.
Nina, 21: From fashion comes to mind clothes, accessories and all kinds of things related to beauty and dressing up.
Mika, 32: Appearance, make-up and fancy clothes. Maria, 51: Superficiality
Do you follow fashion? Why, why not?
Elisa, 21: I follow fashion because I am a very visual person. I like to follow my time but I am not interested in politics. Fashion moves forward constantly, I get inspiration from it. Besides it is fun to follow fash-
ion: those terrible “dog collar jewels that were used in primary school were in from the beginning of the autumn, Oh God!
Nina, 21: I follow fashion although it doesn`t really interest me. I have got my own style that I don`t want to change radically.
Mika, 32: I don`t follow fashion consciously because I don`t think that fashion is an interesting thing. I don`t understand it.
Maria, 51: I don`t follow it. I do notice when I am buying clothes that the clothes are similar to each other. I do hear when people talk about different fashion phenomena. If the matter doesn`t interest me otherwise I won`t comment on it.
Do you watch fashion shows from television or do you read fashion magazines? Why, why not?
Elisa, 21: I watch America`s Next Top Model and Project Runway when it starts again in the spring. I also read actively the Trend magazine. Fashion interests me and that is why I watch these shows.
27
Nina, 21: I watch sometimes tips and new clothes from fashion magazines because I can get some ideas to my own style from the fashion articles. I don`t watch fashion programs from television.
Mika, 32: I don`t read or watch. I am not interested in fashion so I don`t use time for following it.
Maria, 51: I choose the television programs on the grounds of whether the topic interests me or not. The fact that something is in fashion doesn`t mean anything to me.
Do you think that clothes/accessories with brand look fancier than normal clothes? Why, why not?
Elisa, 21: The brand in the cloth doesn`t really matter however brand clothes are luxury, a way to indulge yourself. But appearance before anything else: I would never wear a Guess cap, yuck.
Nina, 21: The brand doesn`t matter. In my opinion clothes are exactly
the same whether you buy them from H&M or Lacoste. They have been made from the same fabric and they both last as long.
Mika, 32: In general I don`t like that brands can be seen in clothes be-
cause the most important thing is that the clothes are high-quality and mere brand doesn`t guarantee that.
Maria, 51: Probably I won`t notice the brand. Are you willing to use more money for brand clothes/accessories? Why, why not?
Elisa, 21: Brand clothes are often more long-lasting than clothes made by the chain stores. The idea in
brand clothes is also that they don`t go out of fashion. Channels black dress or blazer is always elegant, GinaTrico`s similar clothes break down the first time they have been washed and look terrible. I would
myself pay from a brand cloth a maximum of 200â‚Ź. For example Marimekko` s sweater would be a friend for 20 years.
Nina, 21: I wouldn`t buy brand clothes. Brand clothes are expensive and still the same as all the other clothes. I prefer good and cheap.
Mika, 32: Yes I am because usually brand clothes are better looking, more long-lasting and made from
better quality although you can find bad quality with a high price also from brand clothes. What is best for you is very individual.
Maria, 51: I buy affordable clothes, the kinds of that I like. The brand doesn`t have a meaning to me. Do you dress according to fashion? Why, why not?
Elisa, 21: I am not dressing according to fashion but I collect ideas to my own dressing from fashion. I use trends that fit to my own style. In last summer whole white clothing was in fashion, I utilized this to my
own dressing by combining a white tube scarf with a beige knitwear and a blond t-shirt ( + hair to a side braid = my fresh summer look)
Nina, 21: I don`t think I dress according to any fashion. I wear clothes that I feel comfortable in and that are practical and multifunctional.
Mika, 32: Yes I do because all clothes that are on sale follow the same fashion. If you want to dress up differently you need to wear clothes from the 70s.
Maria, 51: Yes and no! I don`t look for fashion clothes but when some cloth style is in fashion all the clothes that are on sale in the stores are made in the similar style. 28
What is your most fashionable cloth or accessory? Why?
Elisa, 21: Right now dots are in fashion so I searched from my wardrobe a black shine leather back that
has white dots on it which I had bought while being in the middle school. In last summer uneven surface was in fashion, people stopped me in the city and asked where I had found my lace blazer. Black dress never goes out of fashion, it is always in and stylish.
Nina, 21: Nothing fashionable comes to my mind right now.
Mika, 32: My jeans that cost 138 â‚Ź because they were expensive, designed by the Swedish (Sweden is always in fashion J) made by the Italians, when I wear them I don`t stand out in any way and also they are comfortable and at least I hope well long-lasting.
Maria, 52: My denim tunic. It is the latest clothe that I have bought. Describe fashion with one word? Elisa, 21: Inspiration
Nina, 21: Appearance Mika, 32: Superficial
Maria, 51: Commercial Something else to say about fashion?
Elisa, 21: Following fashion doesn`t mean buying new clothes but finding new cloth combinations. Nina, 21: Fashion is a good thing from which you can get inspiration to your own style.
Mika, 32: I don`t follow fashion consciously but perhaps we all follow it subconsciously.

is standing in jeans and white sneakers and observing what is happening.
When you start looking at people and how they dress themselves in Finland today you can`t be without noticing similarities in their dressing.
Finnish people seem to appreciate comfort and practicality in their everyday clothing. Textile bags,
jeans, low heel boots, scarfs, woolly hats and midlong coats are among other things much seen in
Finnish dressing. A Finn can walk into a mall wear-
