TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR CLIENTS: From start to finish, Sarah was prepared, professional, and knowledgeable. Sarah stayed on top of all aspects of the sale, including inspections, documents, and other associated tasks. We were particularly impressed with the professional manner in which she marketed the house, having a professional photographer take pictures and create a 3-D “walk-though” model of the house. The house sold in less than oneday! We will strongly recommend Sarah and Forbes Realty to our friends and family. – Rick & Robin My husband & I worked with Claire to purchase our first home this summer. She was very down to earth, honest, and extremely helpful. She showed us multiple homes that fit our needs and budget, and never pushed us to go over budget or wasted our time showing us homes that would not work for us. She was very easy to get in touch with and available to answer all of our questions about the homes, general process, & to review closing details. She was a great negotiator when the escrow almost fell through due to the bank’s auditor not valuing the property for the sale price and got us our dream home! We had a 4 month old at the time and she was great with him while we looked at homes or signed papers. We are both ecstatic with our new home & with how quick and easy Claire made the entire process for us & would highly recommend her! – Ethan and Becky We recently decided to put our rental property for sale. Through a family member he told us about Jonna Kitchen. She had just got her real estate licence, and works for Forbes & Associates. We set up a meeting and they got everything together amazingly quick. Jonna arranged for all photos and aerial views of the house and did incredible and professional job with the listing of the house. We got offers immediately. And accepted one. All of the paperwork and meeting and inspections were handled entirely by Jonna, and she also had to deal with five tenants. She did an incredible job. Now the house is sold. Anybody considering selling their property and wanting a complete commitment, they should definitely consider Jonna Kitchen. – Jim and Zoraida Purchase of new home and sale of old home. Sue was great!!!We were looking for a home in Trinidad and she was very helpful, showing homes that had not yet been listed and aggressively seeking possible homes that she knew were what we wanted. After we found a home she then went out of her way to help us sell the old one, showing up at all the inspections and keeping her eye on the process. If you are buying or selling a home in Trinidad at can’t recommend her highly enough. – Tim & Susan

Arcata Forest Projects

Be a Volunteer Trail Steward! Volunteer Trail Stewards (VTS) is a grassroots program of the Humboldt Trails Council (www.humtrails. org). Stewards serve as community eyes and ears whenever they are out walking, running or riding the trail. Stewards also call in safety hazards, pick up litter and report camping or inappropriate use, but are not the police. In addition, about once a month Stewards host a Saturday morning work session where volunteers work with City staff on a trail project. This may be brushing back a section of trail, rebuilding a wash-out, removing exotic plants or improving signage. No prior experience or tools are required; the only qualification is willingness. For more information or to volunteer email hughes@humboldt.edu.

Volunteer at a Workday! The City of Arcata invites the community and community groups to assist with stewardship of Arcata’s natural resources and join the Environmental Services Department at its Saturday volunteer work days! Though some workdays highlight specific partner groups, all volunteer work days are open to anyone (all ages) interested in participating. • Saturday workdays run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., with lunch provided. • Workday dates and location are subject to change – contact Darius Damonte at: (707) 825-2105 or ddamonte@cityofarcata.org for information on meeting locations. • Prior to work, there will be a safety talk and tool-use instruction and volunteers must sign a liability release. • Volunteers should wear work clothes (long sleeves and pants recommend) and sturdy, closed-toed shoes.

Looking for More Volunteer Opportunities??

Join the Valley West - Clean the Sidewalk Days! Scheduled every 1st Sunday of the month, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Volunteers meet at Valley West Park on Hallen Drive. Contact Janelle Classen at janelleclassen@gmail.com for more information!

Zero Waste Action Plan The City of Arcata has adopted a Zero Waste Action Plan to help reduce waste generated in the City as much as possible. The City is asking renters to consider using the City-provided dishware and/or use rental dishes and linens. Should you choose to use the City’s dishware, we will provide you with the information needed to properly clean and put away the dishes for the next user.
