Dear Friends,

The year 2020 started with an unprecedented pandemic. We have been challenged, not as a country alone, but as an entire planet. Dealing with this situation is no easy task, but “United We Can Stand Alive!”. For months, our immigrant seniors, the most vulnerable population to COVID-19, have been grappling with this pandemic that continues to wreak havoc in our daily lives.
We at MAFS are working hard to mitigate the impact that COVID-19 has had on our senior communities. As a Place of Care, our staff worked hard to ensure that our participants, regardless of race, income, and immigration status, have access to high-quality home care and freshly cooked meals delivered at their doorstep. We continue to learn and utilize new teleconference technologies like Zoom and Teams with our seniors and provide activities that keep them connected, entertained, and
informed about safety measures. Growing and maintaining the trust of seniors, their families, and the community is vital for MAFS. As a Senior Care Provider, we must realign our organization to the new safety measures outlined by IDOA, CDC, and IDPH so our facilities can re-open safely and programs continue daily operations.
We have taken all the necessary precautions for our seniors, staff, and drivers such as temperature screenings and mandatory mask coverings. Seniors will always maintain a 6ft distance in our locations wearing a mask, washing their hands, and using hand sanitizers. We have 2 medical-grade HEPA filters at each ADS site. We brought Sanitizing ‘Fogging’ machines to spray a mist of disinfectant on all surfaces frequently. We retrofitted the bathrooms in all our locations with touch-less toilets, faucets, soap dispensers, and dryers. Finally, while our focus has been to serve Seniors and the communities during COVID-19,
we are getting ready to open our facilities in the “new normal”. Thank you to our Board Members and staff for your continued support. Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines, wear your masks, and wash your hands. Your adherence to these safety policies will keep you and others safe and Alive!
Sincerely,
Dr. Firdaus Jafri President - MAFS
Santosh Kumar Executive Director - MAFS
