The Open Innovation Challenge, hosted by ACCIÓ and Enterprise Europe Network, takes place on the Catalonia Pavilion

The thriving Congress Square area is packed with innovations, networking opportunities and industry organisations, bringing together a range of diverse partners all in one place right at

the heart of the Fira. Occupying over 2000sqm, Congress Square can be found in the central aisle between Halls 4 & 6 and Halls 5 & 7. Pay a visit and make exciting new connections at ISE 2023.

Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to see there. Impact Lounge New for 2023, the Impact Lounge will offer visitors the chance to meet with organisations making a difference in the industry: Women in Live Music (WILM), ISE sustainability partner SAVe, and media and entertainment industry community The Circle Society. The lounge will provide a space for visitors to connect with these organisations that are looking to change things for the better and to find out more about the work they’re doing and the difference it’s already making.

“We’re returning to ISE 2023 with a dedicated space in the Impact Lounge, where we can make new connections and raise awareness of women in AV,” says Malle Kaas, Founder and CEO of WILM. “Along with ISE, we’re offering women a ‘safe space’ to share their experiences and network, bringing together newcomers and those experienced in the industry. We also encourage male guests to learn more about the industry from a woman’s perspective.”

Influencer Lounge After a successful debut in 2022, the Influencer Lounge returns for 2023 and once again welcomes content creators, social media trendsetters and commentators who are an active part of the technology community. Expect a schedule of podcasts and events in this space designed for collaboration and conversation.

Discovery Zone Experience the very latest innovations from first-time ISE exhibitors and startups.

Among the confirmed exhibitors here are virtual studio software developer Axximetry; AVoIP, HDBaseT and HDMI distribution device manufacturer Netvio; electronic accessories manufacturer Vanco; and Flylights, which offers transparent LED displays.

Catalonia Pavilion One of the factors behind ISE’s move to Barcelona is that Catalonia is a major technology hub for AV and other digital industries. The Catalonia Pavilion will host 30 regional businesses active in the AV industry and will highlight opportunities for business growth in the region. Additionally, the Pavilion will again be the location of the ISE Open Innovation Challenge. This is hosted by ACCIÓ (the Catalonia Trade & Investment agency) and Enterprise Europe Network. The challenge is a matchmaking initiative, where corporations look for new technologies and solutions partners to help solve specific business issues.

“The Open Innovation Challenge was a great success last year, so we’re delighted to be back for ISE 2023,” comments Carles Gómara, Business Strategy at ACCIÓ. “The hybrid matchmaking service connects technology providers with businesses looking to purchase solutions — we currently have eight Catalan corporations linedup for your pitches. This B2B event offers the opportunity to create alliances with new local and international partners and participation is free of charge, so sign up and get involved!”

Barcelona City Council Barcelona City Council will host a number of local start-ups on its stand, as well as the Catalan Audiovisual Cluster. The Cluster is a network of more than 150 companies and institutions that aims to strengthen the AV sector in Spain through mutual co-operation. It will also be holding presentations and meetings in conference room CC5.3 on the Thursday and Friday of the show, including Audiovisual Talent Week.

International Media Showcase The latest issues from the world’s AV and systems integration media will be on display in the International Media Showcase. Take a moment to acquaint yourself with media titles you perhaps weren’t familiar with, spend some time reading magazines or take them away to peruse at your leisure.

Networking area If you want to arrange a meeting with a contact but don’t have a suitable location, then the networking area is for you. With plentiful seating and refreshments available nearby, it’s the ideal location to catch up with old business friends or make new connections.
