As we departed from Queenstown, the scenic drive quickly transformed into an exhilarating journey. Two epic days of driving off road, on road, in the snow, through rivers and up mountains, as the landscape evolved revealing sweeping valleys and tussock-covered hills constantly taking my breath away. Stunning farm tours, French champagne and remote picnic spots were an absolute highlight. The Defender’s all-terrain capabilities shone as we traversed this picturesque but demanding landscape. Every twist and turn revealed new vistas, from snow-capped peaks to serene riverbeds. The raw beauty of nature was all around us, and the Defender allowed us to access remote areas that would be unreachable in a lesser vehicle. I have never felt safer or more in control.

After a day full of adrenaline and awe-inspiring views, we arrived at The Lindis, an architectural marvel seamlessly blending into the Canterbury landscape. Nestled beside the Ahuriri River, this luxury lodge offered a perfect retreat from the rugged outdoors. The expansive glass walls provide panoramic views of the valley, and the star-studded night sky was a breathtaking sight from the comfort of my suite.

Dining at The Lindis was an experience, with gourmet meals crafted from local ingredients, paired with exquisite New Zealand wines. The lodge’s chefs presented dishes that were as visually stunning as they were delicious, highlighting the best of the region’s produce. Reflecting on our adventure while relaxing in the lodge’s serene ambiance, we knew this journey was a perfect blend of rugged exploration and luxurious relaxation.
