SIX PLANES PTE LTD
I
Experience At six planes, I got to experience how the real design industry functions and I have a rough idea of what is expected of me as an interior designer. While I was interning at the company, I was given the opportunity to work on different scopes of the projects. It allowed me to pick up and brush up skills of different areas. For example, I helped out with 3D and 2D renderings using 3DSMAX and Photoshop. Besides that, I did space planning as well as construction detailing. I have also under taken site visits, client meets, consultant meets as well as supplier meets. Responsibilites Site analysis, concept design, spatial planning, technical drawings, detail drawings, 3D visualizing (3dsmax), 2D rendering (Adobe Photoshop), material selections.

FORES-ITY Client Bjorn Low Location Existing site of Pioneer Secondary School Total Floor Area 3870 Square Metres
Background The Problem with Aging Population Shrinking birth rates in Singapore over the past two decades have led to a corresponding decline in overall demand for school places and a “signicant excess” of secondary school places at the national level. As such, this has led to the many closures of schools located in mature estates island wide, with most schools left vacant with no immediate plans for redevelopment or new use. With an increasingly aging population, there are also now fewer working adults to support the elderly. The Problem with Food Security Currently Singapore imports over 90% of its food. Singapore’s small agricultural sector produces primarily eggs, sh, poultry and vegetables. Ornamental sh and orchids are produced for export. Singapore’s high dependency on food imports makes food security a very prominent issue. In view of the existing situations faced by Singapore, I propose that these leftover schools be converted into “multi-generational” care centers, housing young children from neighboring primary schools, university students as well as older adults under one roof. To address issues surrounding Singapore’s aging population and food scarcity, this project blends a multi-generational care center with urban farming.

In this project, spaces are divided by different partitions to suit the needs of different functions. All of these partitions all fully mobile, allowing for flexible usage. One of the designs allows for the “open and close” function, where the timber slats can be rotated with a tilting cord to adjust to varying levels of permeability. All of the partitions would be fitted recessed into the beams above.

Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia I have derived my concept from the lotus flower, because the flower holds much significance to the people of Cambodia. This concept is tranlated into the layout of the space.

REVELATION Location Description
Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia
A slide connects from Level 1 to Level 2, and children get to go back up the same route using the climbing platform without having to run to get up the stairs. It also allows for convenient adult supervision.
Through Revelation in Mobile Lotus, it is hoped that the children on Tonle Sap Lake will change their perception towards healthcare, and be educated through fun and engaging educational journeys and that the people of Tonle Sap would have better access to healthcare, as well as knowledge on sustainable ways to live on the lake.

EXOTIC TATTOOS & PIERCINGS Client SU Location Block 83 Unit 05 Geylang Bahru Industrial Estate Total Floor Area 500 Square Metres
Brief SU, the granddaughter of Johnny Two Thumbs, owns her own tattoo parlor named Exotic Tattoos & Piercings . She has decided to move to the geylang bahru industrial estate area and she is looking foward to a mixed-and-multi-use space, one that allows her to reside in as well as to conduct her tattoo business. Concept In this project, essences of The Infinite Triangle are being incorporated into the space layout as well as interior design. The layering concept is further accentuated with ideas of Suprematism and De Stijl.

Concept In this concept model, an infinite triangle forms the scaffold, to represent the continuous process of adding layers of ink to human skin. The original form of the triangle is exploded into its individual faces and divided into 3 tiers to put emphasis on the layering concept. Each tier represents a stage of the tattoo making process. These 3 tiers form a distinct void in the center, which is to signify the holes that are formed by the tattoo machine during the process of ink injection. When viewed from the top, the 3 also form a perfect triangle, which suggests that all 3 stages of the tattoo making process are essential in constructing a complete tattoo.
