Maggie’s Organics proudly presents our Fall 2016 apparel line: 13 coordinated pieces designed for comfort, elegance, and value. Available in August, the line includes: * an amazingly comfortable 3 piece business suit * a French Terry Tunic and accompanying Shawl to pair with skirted Legging and Boot-Cut Pants * a versatile 10-button Cape to cover it all, and the world’s most comfortable ‘eat-and-danceall-night’ party Dress All pieces are made with Maggie’s signature Peruvian organic cotton fabrics, support real fair trade practices, and are certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This season we introduce new fabrics: a versatile 3-season French Terry, and the first ever 100% organic cotton Mesh, which is luscious and drapey. Our inspiration for Maggie’s Fall 2016 line came from a couple of special places: The first is from our relationship with all who create our garments: from our organic family farmers, to the ginners, knitters, dyers and to our amazing group of sewers. If our clothing reflects the commitment, skill, dedication, and wisdom each one of these folks bring to their craft and to us, then we have succeeded. At Maggie’s, our farmers taught us decades ago to work in harmony with the earth, with the soil, even with the pests. Through the acknowledgement and respect of all things natural we are taught that the earth will provide for each of us. We also created these pieces from learning to appreciate and celebrate every part of ourselves – the parts we can’t wait to show the world, and the ones we try to hide away. We worked these lessons into our clothing designs. We believe that women’s bodies are beautiful and perfect just the way they are. We believe that every curve, lump, and straight line exists for a reason, and that we should accept and honor each one. Our individual uniqueness is where we find our true beauty. Rather than making our bodies conform to what society dictates as beautiful, we make our clothes accommodate and conform to our uniquely beautiful bodies. Consequently, we’ve taken the time to include extra design details in each piece, whether that means adding a second layer of fabric to a bodice for extra coverage (‘The‘ Dress), removing a seam from a place that would cause rubbing (‘Tulip Skirt’ Leggings), or adding a small shoulder dart to a raglan sleeve to give it that extra fine fit (French Terry Tunic). At Maggie’s, we make clothes for us to live in. But we really make clothes for us to thrive in. We have felt the impact of a well-designed piece of clothing on our attitude, on our self-image, on our ability to take on our life’s work.
