Buenos Aires translates as good air, which may explain why it is one of the best cities in Latin America for quality of life and sometimes referred to as the “Paris of South America.” Located in the Southern Hemisphere makes this a wonderful winter destination because January is its warmest month. Consistently ranked as one of the world’s most desired destinations making this a great starting point to explore Argentina’s vineyards.
Mendoza
What makes this such a great destination for wine is a combination of the sunny climate and high altitude deserts in Argentina, along with its culture and terroir, which help produce some of the world’s most unique wines. In the foothills of the Andes Mountains is the stunning Mendoza wine region, where you’ll fi nd elegant classic architecture. During your time in Mendoza, get ready to sip and swirl your way through many wineries, bodegas, and vineyards.
Iguazu Falls
The semicircular waterfall at the heart of this site, is some 80m high and 2,700 m in diameter and is situated on a basaltic line spanning the border between Argentina and Brazil. Made up of many cascades producing vast sprays of water, it is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The surrounding subtropical rainforest has over 2,000 species of vascular plants and is home to the typical wildlife of the region: tapirs, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, jaguars, and caymans.
