La musica che salva i giovani. Le nuove generazioni raccontate da Ethos

Trovare una via d’uscita attraverso la musica. Così è stato per Federico Lucini, conosciuto da tutti come “Ethos”, giovane cantante comasco che vive a Lugano. Per il 22enne, che sta collezionando milioni di streaming su Spotify in questi anni, le proprie canzoni sono state un mezzo per conoscersi meglio e denunciare la situazione non semplice che molti ragazzi della sua generazione stanno vivendo. Tra i suoi grandi successi ci sono due singoli “Parigi” (2020) e “A volte” (2020), che esprimono molto chiaramente le tematiche che stanno a cuore a Federico. Nel 2022 Ethos esordisce con il suo primo album Faraway. “La musica può essere una via d’uscita dai disagi giovanili – racconta – Per me è stata una valvola di sfogo in un momento in cui non stavo bene. Era il mio angolo sicuro in cui butto fuori le cose che mi facevano stare male. Nei miei testi parlo di questioni in cui tanti ragazzi si ritrovano. Noi giovani abbiamo dei problemi comuni, come l’ansia per il futuro”. La crescita personale è al centro della sua discografia: “La musica mi sta concedendo una rivalsa verso me stesso, facendomi capire che valgo e che posso dare qualcosa alle altre persone” evidenzia. Ma non finisce qui. Infatti Federico ha due vite. Oltre a essere un artista e anche un promettente tennista che milita in seconda categoria 2.2, sfatando un po’ il mito dei giovani nullafacenti: “Conosco tanti ragazzi che si applicano nel quotidiano – racconta Federico – Mi impegno tanto. Le giornate iniziano presto con gli allenamenti e poi proseguono in studio”. Tornando alla musica, la volontà di Ethos non quella di “salvare il mondo”, come ci racconta, ma di “cambiare il proprio io”. Infatti a suo avviso “le canzoni possono influenzare le nostre azioni e il quotidiano che ci circonda”. Infine porta l’esempio stesso “Le canzoni hanno cambiato le mie frequentazioni, le mie giornate, il modo di vedere la realtà. Posso quindi dire che la musica può veramente migliorarci radicalmente”.

For the 22-yearold, who is racking up millions of streams on Spotify in recent years, his own songs have been a means of getting to know himself better and denouncing the not-so-easy situation that many young people of his generation are experiencing. Among his big hits are two singles "Paris" (2020) and "Sometimes" (2020), which express very clearly the issues that are close to Federico's heart. In 2022 Ethos made his debut with his first album Faraway. "Music can be a way out of youthful hardships," he says, "For me it was an outlet at a time when I was not well. It was my safe corner where I throw out the things that made me feel bad. In my lyrics I talk about issues that many young people find themselves in. We young people have common problems, like anxiety about the future." Personal growth is at the heart of his discography: "Music is granting me a revenge towards myself, making me realize that I am worth something and that I can give something to other people," he highlights. But it doesn't end there. In fact, Federico has two lives. In addition to being an artist, he is also a promising tennis player who plays in the second category 2.2, dispelling a bit the myth of young no-goods: "I know a lot of guys who apply themselves on a daily basis," says Federico, "I work hard. The days start early with practice and then continue in the studio." Returning to music, Ethos' will not to "save the world," as he tells us, but to "change the self." In fact, in his view, "songs can influence our actions and the daily life around us." Finally he brings the example himself "Songs have changed my hangouts, my days, the way I see reality. Therefore, I can say that music can really improve us radically".
