1985 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE – FACTORY DEVELOPMENT 580X PROTOTYPE DP 2035

This significant example was one of two Vantage models utilised by the factory to develop the pre-production modifications that would go on to feature in the final series of V8 Vantage 580X cars. Originally finished in Kensington Silver coachwork with Dark Blue hides, the car was allocated the internal DP chassis number and sold by the factory in January 1988 after completing its developmental duties. Offered with extensive history from new, this well-maintained example played an important role in the history of the V8 Vantage

Constructed in 1909 in the heart of historic Royal Tunbridge Wells at 12-16 London Road, this magnificent building began life as the home of ‘G.Stevenson Engineers – The Kent and Sussex Garage Ltd’ a local motor dealer who had the concession for Humber, Daimler and GN motorcars amongst others and by the early 1960s the garage had evolved into ‘Stevensons Standard Triumph’ agents. Fast forward 113 years and in April 2022 we embarked upon an eight-month restoration to create our dream headquarters, creating the forever home of Dylan Miles Ltd

We are proud to o er the very last and highest specification V8 Vantage ever constructed by the factory. Ordered from new by loyal AM client Wensley Haydon-Baillie who purchased the very first production V8 Vantage from the factory in 1977. This 580X Vantage was built to his exacting standards with a pleathora of rare and unique options including special order electric Recaro seats front seats, trimmed half roll cage, sunroof, larger air box and trunking, Perspex headlamp covers and much more. Finished in BRG coachwork with Black hides and manual transmission, quite simply the ultimate Vantage X Pack
