BUILDING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER THE CAMPAIGN FOR MAGNIFICAT

OUR IDENTITY

Magnificat High School, a girls’ Catholic, college-preparatory high school, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, calls young women to live Mary’s Magnificat in the world.

OUR MISSION

We educate young women holistically to learn, lead, and serve in the spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.

MAGNIFICAT HIGH SCHOOL opened in 1955 in the former Wooster School in Rocky River.

One hundred nine Sisters of the Humility of Mary have served in educational ministry at Magnificat. The Sisters partnered, from the beginning, with dedicated lay personnel in continuity with practices from their founding in Dommartin, France, in 1854.

OUR VISION

With state-of-the-art spaces, resources, and programming informed by our Mission and 21st-century best practices, Magnificat will be more equipped than ever to prepare visionary leaders for our evolving world through collaborative research, innovative thinking, and ethical decision-making in the sciences and humanities.

CENTER FOR SCIENCE EXPLORATION Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics Newly renovated science spaces will enhance collaboration among faculty and students. This will enable us to integrate multiple lab experiences, while providing flexible and technology-supported classrooms to foster interdisciplinary, group, and individualized learning.

“A new science center will ensure that Magnificat students continue to build a strong foundation in the sciences, and will give us an opportunity to explore all of the possible careers that are open to us.” Anjali ’20

ATHLETIC COMPLEX A resurfaced track and field will enhance our Athletic Complex renovation which includes the completed Coyne Tennis Courts and Karnatz Family Field.

“Karnatz Family Field is more than turf to us. It represents a deep sense of pride. We are so appreciative of the donors who gave us our home field advantage.” Nora ’21

ENDOWMENT Over 60% of our students receive some form of financial assistance. As part of our Mission, we strive to open our doors to every young woman who wants to become a Magnificat student. We recognize the financial commitment necessary for a Magnificat education. The primary source of tuition assistance and scholarships comes from the Magnificat Endowment. The endowment helps make a Magnificat education affordable. We are committed to helping interested and dedicated students so that they may experience what Magnificat can be for them—an investment that lasts a lifetime.

“Receiving a Named Endowed Scholarship has taught me that Magnificat works to create a learning opportunity for all girls. I am so grateful for my donors’ passion and care for holistically educating young women now and in the future!” Kerry ’21

PLANNING YOUR GIFT THE CAMPAIGN FOR MAGNIFICAT HIGH SCHOOL offers a wide range of opportunities for donors at all levels to make a difference in the quality and future of our school. You can participate in the campaign by making a commitment that permits both flexibility and time to complete payment. Because the school’s needs represent a five-year vision, we hope that most commitments will be completed within 36-60 months. There are a variety of ways you can make a gift to BUILDING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER, and each opportunity presents certain advantages. All, of course, are tax deductible within the limits specified by the IRS code. We would recommend consulting with an attorney or financial advisor when planning your commitment.

GIFTS OF CASH/CHECK provide the most immediate impact, and qualify for a full charitable deduction in

the year given.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES held for more than one year permit a donor to use the full

value of the security at the time of donation as a tax deduction, while avoiding any capital gains tax.

GIFTS OF PROPERTY, including residence, vacation home, jewelry, art, etc., can provide significant benefits to the school and to the donor. The specialized help of appraisers and tax advisors is necessary to make such a gift. GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE can provide a way to make a sizable gift at a relatively low cost. We recommend consulting with an attorney or financial advisor. GIFTS THAT MAKE AN IMPACT AFTER YOUR LIFETIME are excellent ways to participate in

the campaign at levels you might not ordinarily consider. These can include a gift in one’s will, retirement plan, and various trust instruments. Our team of professionals will be happy to assist your financial advisors in finding the best plan for your particular situation. Each and every gift, big or small, helps ensure that we honor our commitment to excellence for current and future generations of Magnificat students.

BUILDING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER FOR OUR YOUNG WOMEN Building on the prophetic vision of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, Magnificat strives to be a leader in Catholic education for young women. We are proud of our rich history and heritage, and we ask you to join us in our renewed commitment to Magnificat’s Mission. We are at the beginning of an exciting chapter in our school’s history, one that will expand the holistic, innovative opportunities that shape Magnificat students into visionary leaders. Our rapidly evolving world requires us to be more forward-thinking than ever before in our approach to education and formation. Mary’s Magnificat calls us to be more inclusive, opening the doors of opportunity for every young woman who wants to become a Magnificat student. In order to fulfill this vision, we ask you to say ‘yes’ to Magnificat. Your support and generosity have been essential to sustaining our Mission thus far, and I hope you will join us as we enter this next chapter. I wish you and your families blessings in abundance, and I sincerely thank you for considering a gift to BUILDING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER, The Campaign for Magnificat High School. In the Spirit of Mary’s Magnificat,

Moira Clark ’77 President, Magnificat High School
