There are some high paying careers which don't require very many hours of higher education to obtain. However, the first people to be hired have the highest GPA and full certification in their chosen field. If you are serious about getting more out of life, then you may want to take a look at the following career opportunities which pay decent wages, and can help you on your way to an even more lucrative career. Many people start their work lives by going to school to become a paralegal, and then focus their efforts on getting a full law degree. As a paralegal your responsibilities could include everything that a lawyer might do, except actually going to trial and representing a case. You must enjoy doing a lot of research if you are interested in getting your certification as a paralegal. Pharmacy Technicians make well above minimum wage, and are responsible for keeping accurate patient records, talking on the phone with insurance companies, patients and doctors, and counting out and verifying the accuracy of medical doses. They work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and can easily continue their education in the field of medicine. Many pharmacy techs go on to become a nurse, or doctor. Surgical Technicians are very well paid, but are required to have their certification. They are often working beside a surgeon in the operating room, and can be expected to do the final closure for the physician. They must be calm, cool and collected in all emergency situations and required to make the final stitches in a surgical patient. Medical transcription is a field where medical information is converted from voice recordings and typed into a computer file by a person who has their certification as a medical transcriber. Not only do these jobs pay well above minimum wage, they can involve driving to a location to personally take the statement of a patient. This job can offer sufficient time to continue your education to acquire an even higher paying job in the medical profession. Medical Coding is another health care related job which pays very well and allows a person to complete most of their duties from their home, or take their laptop to the doctors offices and complete the requirements there. These jobs often help prepare a person to get a degree in health care management, and pay enough to qualify for student loans to continue your education for one of the high paying careers.
