Magnus Pen Corp has been one of the leading manufacturers, importers and suppliers of promotional products to the North American market since 1988. Privately held, Magnus is a Canadian owned and operated business. Our product offering over the past five years has been expanded far beyond pens and Galleria Wall and Desk calendars to now include: knives, tape measures, flashlights, drinkware, key tags, home and office products, life style products, caps, toques, and bags. Through our Masterworks brand, we provide Contractor screening of apparel plus new this year contractor embroidery of apparel. In house facilities include silk screen machines, pad print machines, laser machines, four colour digital transfer machine, pen and screwdriver assembly equipment, and now Tajima embroidery machines. Magnus products are exclusively sold through industry distributors who resell Magnus products.

OFFSHORE PROCUREMENT PROGRAM

HUGE SAVINGS

Virtually every product in this catalogue is now priced with the option of an offshore purchase. Prices are FOB Magnus factory in Toronto and already include duty, brokerage, insurance, container ocean freight and foreign exchange charges. Lead times are 10-12 weeks after final art approvals. Production schedules begin after art approvals. Prices are subject to change without notice due to currency fluctuations. Direct Import orders are placed on our new Ningbo office & warehouse in China. Currently Magnus has eight employees who travel to the factories to ensure you order is produced to the highest acceptable standards, these are the same people that handle Magnus stock production purchase requests every day, they know what to look for so the customer is never disappointed when the stock arrives. Every time you place a Direct Import order a pre-production sample is supplied free of charge after the order is placed to ensure your customer satisfaction.

Magnus can further customize any order by doing a custom colour match, special packaging, custom molds, multiple colour logos’, and numerous other options, just ask. Your purchase does not even need to be a stock catalogue item. Our staff will source a product for you. Your production time can be shortened by air shipping all or part of the order. This typically saves 3-4 weeks and is quoted on a case basis due to fluctuations in the cost of air freight. ORDERS :

Orders received complete by Magnus Pen, we will process and send you a visual proof for you to check carefully and approve before we customize. Once your visual proof has been approved a ship date is assigned to your order and we start processing the order immediately. Orders in production that requires changes or cancellation. We can’t guarantee that we will be able to do so base on the production status of the order. We shall try to accommodate your request. Change or cancellation that we are unable to accommodate may result in your liability for the full order price. The visual proof is the final process in your order and contains all the detailed customization and garment details, it is very important that you review this properly. After approval changes may not be possible, and any mistakes will be your responsibility.

ORDERING – PRODUCTS, SIZES, COLOURS, PRINTING TECHNIQUES AND TEMPLATES:

Magnus decorates blank clothing, garments and products supplied by Magnus or your own ware. Magnus customizes these items with printing and embroidery. All sizes and colours shown online on the catalogues are not under our control, and we cannot be held accountable for colour variations from on screen colours to real product colours, nor can we be held responsible for sizing issues. We do our very best with our Quality Controls to manage these isolated challenges. We highly recommend ordering pre-production samples to ensure these size and colour problems are not encountered. Please also note that, if a specific colour or size is received for your supplied items your ship date may not be met.

COLOUR:

For screen printing, white is commonly used as a flash base and must be choked, or trapping applied to the overlaying colours. Files to be printed as CMYK (4 colour Process) needs to be submitted in CMYK format. We recommend vector artwork or high-quality images. If you submit raster artwork (jpg, gif, etc.) ensure the image is a little bigger than the decorating area. Clearer images results in a better-quality embroidery.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATION:

Please save PSD files in or CMYK with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher at the actual size the print is to be on the product. Merge layers that rely on blending modes. Rasterize fonts layers and provide a JPG copy as a sample of what the finished print should look like.

PDFs, JPGs, GIFs and other formats: PDFs: Best saved from Illustrator or CorelDraw for the file to be edited. JPG’S: RGB mode, 300 dpi or higher, at actual size. GIFs: usually not a viable format, limited uses, best as sample image.

To convert an image jpg (bitmap) to vector format (AI, EPS, CDR) starts at minimum $50.00 (c) per half hour. To confirm final cost, the file image should be emailed to artroom@magnuspen.com to determine the cost. Completed file will be emailed to you for approval in PDF format. If the artworks files you provide are not print ready and, therefore, do not match our artwork specifications we will try to recreate the artwork there may be an additional charge. Artwork files that are not as per our artwork guidelines may still be printed, but the quality of the print may be lower than we would like, Magnus Pen will not be responsible, and your order will not qualify for a reprint or refund.

ARTWORK DISCLAIMER:

We will print/embroider the artwork you supply us. When uploaded or emailing us any artwork you give Magnus Pen, full consent to print the artwork or designs. You confirm that the artwork is yours to use, and/ or free from copyright infringement. You accept full responsibility in the event of any copyright infringement and will fully indemnify Magnus Pen. The visual template and online visual designer are not to scale. The size of the actual printed artworks may vary to the representation and proportions which you see online. Our goal is to always print your exact print sizes

note there may be up to a 2cm variance on print sizes and positioning.

UNACCEPTABLE FILES:

Microsoft Word, Publish It and PowerPoint files are not accepted and will require recreating. Poor resolution files will need to be recreated. A cost will be provided when we have had a chance to review the file. Please allow an additional 2 to 3 days for this process to be completed. Subquality and non-print ready artwork files. If you have any doubt, please contact you customer service representative.

PRODUCT MOCKUP/PRE-PRODUCTION SAMPLE:

Should you require a concept drawing of a shirt or item, showing how your art will look imprinted. These drawings are not to scale and should not be used to determine the actual image size. The cost is $20.00 (C) and additional revisions add $10.00 (E). If you require a digital email of your printed image add: $20.00 (C) Pre-Production sample add $100.00 (C).

PRINT /EMBROIDERY ONLY SERVICE – CUSTOMER OWN WARE:

Magnus uses the top-quality low bleed plastisol inks. We cannot guarantee against colour fastness (bleeding) when printing on synthetic fabrics & materials. We offer a print/embroidery only service whereby you can purchase the garments separately and then send them to us to be customized. In providing you this service please understand that you’re sending the garments to us at your own risk. If they are lost in transit, we will not be held responsible. Please track the delivery and handle any issues that arise in delivery. In addition, we recommend test prints to ensure that the products are suitable for the printing technique that you require.

We keep a close eye on our quality control process, but, if you are supplying the products and there are problems with the print or damage to the garments due to the printing, that are not related to the print quality, Magnus will not be held responsible for any of the cost of the garments/ products. We highly recommend sample prints to ensure that the items are suitable for the printing technique that you require. (Additional charges will apply). We will do our best to detect any problems as soon as they arise, and will aim to minimize the impact on any batch of the items, but some of our machines operate at fast automated speeds and therefore sometimes these issues do not make themselves apparent until the entire customization process.

EMBROIDERY DIGITIZING:

Upon request Magus will digitize your artwork. We will supply email proof for approval on all orders we have digitized, keypunched or edited. We cannot supply any type of proofs for approval on orders that customers have supplied their digitized embroidery files.

CHANGES TO ORDERS:

The following charges will apply if a customer changes an order, providing we have not yet started any production of the order there will be no charge. If order is in production, the order cannot be changed or canceled. The order will be charged in full (product and embroidery charges). Magnus produced a finished sample for approval and order is subsequently changed, the sample (product and embroidery and a $60.00 (C) fee would have already been charged. Digitizing, keypunching and editing

costs would also apply as per our pricing policy. If we have provided email photographs for approval and the order is subsequently changed, one product and embroidery will now be charged as well as a $60.00 (C) fee. Digitizing, keypunching and editing cost would also apply as per our pricing policy.

We will supply development samples; however, Pre-Production samples will be charged (product and embroidery), a $60.00 (C) fee and digitizing charges will be applied, and samples will be shipped freight collect.

REPEAT ORDERS:

We do not provide finished samples or email photographs for approval for exact repeat orders. Customers may request a finished sample for approval of an exact repeat, such samples will be charged (product and embroidery). A $60.00(C) charge Magnus will also apply, and samples will be forwarded freight collect. Customers can request an emailed photograph for approval of an exact repeat, such email photographs will be charged at $60.00(C). We make a concerted effort to closely match repeat orders to the original order. An exact replication cannot be guaranteed since we may have changed sourcing to improve/maintain our quality/ delivery performance. Repeat/repeat with changes and new orders, all orders have a setup charge.

APPROVALS:

If required, emailed photographs for approval (up to 4 photographs per product (front, back, left side, right side) depending on the number of embroidery locations) will be forwarded at no charge. Customers can request a finished sample for approval, such samples will be charged. (product, embroidery, DTG & running). A $50.00 (C) fee applies, and samples will be forwarded freight collect. Magnus operates on 3% spoilage of misprint basis on customer supplied products. We will not issue a credit or replacement for the rest 4% of customer merchandise damaged or spoiled during printing. All claims for additional spoiled or damage are required in writing and damaged or spoiled merchandise returned to Magnus. Special packaging will incur additional charges. Please check with your CSR for pricing.

COLOUR MATCHING:

With Screen Printing we can match Coated Pantone Colour References, if you provide this we will match them as close as possible, with exception to our specialist inks (Puff, Reflective, Glow In Dark etc.) which may vary from the pantone by a few shades due to the effect after drying and dilution. All other printing/embroidery techniques will be the best colour match possible. Please note computer screen colours will differ from final print colours. We will not be held responsible for colour variation.

Please provide Pantone colour references with your quote requests or via email, if they apply. Failure to do so will mean we will use our expertise to best match on colours.

DIRECT TO GARMENT PRINTING – VARIANCE AND WHITE UNDERLAY CONDITION:

DTG printing is dependent on computer-controlled output’. Artwork files are checked by our print managers for quality purposes, but ultimately a computer machine reads these colours and translates these colours into ink that gets jetted directly into the fabric. (Screen printing can match exact Pantone colours and is controlled by the human eye, as such is ‘human controlled’ not computer controlled).

DTG output is, therefore, subject to variance. This means when printing the same design several times it may not appear as sharp on one garment as another. Additionally, it may appear different on one garment to another garment. This is due to colours and materials reacting different to the inks. Sometimes, small speckles of white underlay can be seen on dark garments, this is most often due to sub-quality artwork. We try our uttermost best to avoid this. Base on this there maybe a 25% variance and white underlay condition, and any issues of this nature fall outside of our reprint and refund policy.

VISUAL APPROVAL:

In order to offer the highest quality service, we will create and send a Visual Mock-up to you at no charge. Additional changes may be charged at $10.00 (C) per revision. Once you have approved the visual layout your

decision is final. Extra charges may be applied should you wish to make further changes to approved visuals of an order already in production. Cancellations are not accepted after this stage, but we will always try to assist you for the best possible service, but may be subject to up to 25% cancellation fee. We will not proceed until you have approved the proof(s)

If you fail to approve your visual mock up in time, and due to your delay in approval of the visual your deadline can’t be met, your cancellation rights will be limited as we will have incurred time and charges up to this stage that may not be refundable. We will always do our best to please our customers, but you accept up to 25% cancellation charges.

COMPLAINTS OR CONCERNS PROCEDURE:

We take complaints very seriously and we are unhappy if you are not entirely satisfied with our services. If you wish to make a complaint or request a reprint or refund, please complete the contact us form immediately and provide us with your order reference number, email address and the reason for your complaint.

Please attach photos to help us further understand your complaint so we’re then able to take the necessary actions Magnus Pen should be notified of any issues within 2 days of receiving the order up to a maximum of 15 days from delivery of the goods. Please note: that refunds will only be considered after Magnus Pen has been given every opportunity to rectify any issues with the order. We initially aim to offer a reprint or replacement if possible. We are unable to guarantee 100% perfection on goods you supply. Note up to 25% spoilage rate where we will not be responsible for the cost of damage caused due to printing, embroidery or the customization process.

Magnus Pen will not be liable for any loss or expenses sustained arising from any delay or failure in the delivery of

FAILED, OR DELAYED DELIVERY & PARTIAL DELIVERIES:

Magnus Pen will send out your order using a 3rd party courier company in-accordance with your delivery deadline and will be able to provide documentary evidence for this. If the delivery is not achieved for whatever 3rd party reason, Magnus Pen will take no responsibility for loss or damage or delay to your order and Magnus Pen will not be responsible for refund of any form. We will attempt to recover costs and expenses from the 3rd party delivery companies we cannot guarantee any delivery or refund in these instances. At time of receipt, you should check the packaging immediately. By accepting delivery, you are confirming the packaging and delivery is in perfect order.

PARTIAL DELIVERIES & ERRORS ON THE PART OF OUR 3RD PARTY SUPPLIERS

Magnus Pen supplies blank products from leading brands or are sent customer own ware and then customize them for our clients needs.

Sometimes the leading brands and distributors send us faulty products within the full batch, or do not send us the correct amounts or sizes, which is completely out of the control of Magnus Pen. This means that production and delivery may be delayed, or an order may not be only partially delivered on the specified due date, as more products may need ordering and customizing at a later date. There may be extra charges applied to your order for the additional printing as we may have to reset all the customization machines specifically for the extra customization.

PRINT ONLY DELIVERY DEADLINES & CANCELLATION POLICY

When you are supplying the items for customization, the stated deadline is a target deadline, but we cannot guarantee this until we receive the items for inspection. At quoting the phase we take it we can complete the customization, sometimes factors unknown to us at quoting stage can complicate an order and results in us having to cancel. We will always do our best to meet your deadlines and complete your orders to our best ability, in the case of print/ embroidery only orders. Please note that the order may be canceled upon receipt of the goods and that the final deadline will be confirmed when we physically receive the goods for a specific order.

RETURNS

Merchandise should be inspected immediately upon receipt.

• A request for return or refund should be in writing, returns must be authorized by Magnus.

• Merchandise found to be incorrect due to our error will be replaced.

ARTWORK

• Please forward all artwork to artroom@magnuspen.com referencing your company name, and P/O. number in the subject line. Failure to do so will delay your order.

• Please indicate on your P/O that artwork has been sent via email. We accept CorelDraw, Illustrator and EPS, PDF, vectored artwork as well as high resolution (600dpi) JPG OR TIFF files in black and white.

• Free typesetting is available provide typewritten copy, layout and font required, otherwise art will be completed at our discretion.

• Artwork sent larger than Magnus maximum imprint area will be sized to fit our maximum area without notice.

• If your artwork is at the size, you require please indicate on your art that the art is to size. (Do not resize artwork)

UNUSABLE FILES

• Microsoft word documents, PowerPoint presentation, all numeric images (in shades of gray or colour) files are not graphic programs and are not acceptable file formats

• Examples are images using low resolution (72 dpi) (.gif, .jpg, .doc, .ppt, .dat), business card or faxes.

• Artwork requiring modification, we will advise of any costs before proceeding.

DIGITAL PRINTING

• Products produced as full color imprints, price quoted includes halftones, gradients and multi-colour logos.

• Art should be supplied as digital art in CMYK mode.

• Please DO NOT send printed pieces as art.

• Photos are required in high resolution imaging and any colour correction will delay your ship date, All RASTAR images must be supplied at 300 dpi (1200 dpi for bitmaps).

IMPRINT LOCATION/LAYOUTS

• Imprint location on pens is specified in the catalogue description.

• If location is not specified on your purchase order Magnus Pen will use its discretion.

• For any additional location please note that additional charges will apply.

• Always provide a layout and a hard copy of your art with your purchase order.

MINIMUM LINE WEIGHTS & TYPE SIZES

• Keep all lines .5 point or thicker. Text can be as small as 6 points on all pens. Anything smaller will not be legible.

PEN CLIP/CAP IMPRINT

• One colour $50.00 (C) setup plus $0.25 (C) running charge.

• Additional colours $50.00 (C) setup plus $0.20 (C) running charge per colour.

• Additional location charge see multi-colour/ multi location caption or product pages for available options.

PAPER PROOF

• One black and white paper proof will be supplied upon request only at NO CHARGE via email or fax.

• Additional proofs $10.00 (E) please allow an additional 2 days for Paper Proofs and 24 hours for changes to Paper Proof.

• Colour paper proofs $20.00 (C).

• Magnus will provide a paper proof on all typesetting orders or on art work with concerns.

• Virtual or Paper proof without an order will be billed at $20.00 (C).

• Allow for additional time on your ship date when proofing in colour.

• Colour proof may not be an exact match to final product and will require additional time.

ARTWORK APPROVALS

• The prompt approval of paper proof and product proof are critical to meeting delivery dated.

• Approvals that are delayed, a rush or expedited freight charge may apply at customer’s expense to meet a specific delivery date.

• Paper-proof are not supplied for customer supplied embroidery files.

• Paper proof must be approved within 24 hours of receipt/time sent to hold production time or inventory.

• Email your art approvals to artproof@magnuspen.com.

• Please verify your paper proof carefully before approving, you are responsible for any error on an approved paper or product proof.

LASER ENGRAVING

• (Metal & Wood) – Where laser engraving is not included in the price, repetitive Copy (Logo or type) $1.50 (C) running charge, plus $50.00(C) for setup charge on new logo.

• Black oxidization is available on specific metal pens $0.50 (C).

• Due to product variation laser product underlay finish may differ from trim colour (silver/trim and wood products).

• Where the underlay finish is important to you please check with your CSR prior to placing your order.

LARGER LASER ENGRAVING

(metal pens only)

• Add $2.00(C) running charge plus logo setup $50.00 (C).

• Where applicable the standard size maximum is 1 ¾” in length.

• Please call your CSR for a quote on larger laser area on certain products.

MULTI COLOUR/MULTI LOCATION IMPRINT

• All products listed with options will incur additional running/setup charges.

• Options are only available on specific products; please check the catalogue, CSR or website for these items.

• A minimum of 250 pieces are required for multi-colour prints.

• On first colour Set up charge (screen printing) add $50.00 (C).

• Each additional colour/location add: $50.00 (C) setup plus $0.50 (C) running charge per colour/location.

• Magnus reserve to right to change carrier and service level without notice.

• To receive pallets/skids, the receiver should have a dock, otherwise unloading fees may apply.

• C.O.D shipments are not available.

• Request to ship pick up orders after the order is invoiced will incur a service charge of $50.00 (c) per order.

CLAIMS

• Repeat orders are subject to the above charges.

• Add 2 working days for additional imprint/laser location

COPY CHANGE OR IMPRINT COLOUR CHANGE

• Add $30.00 (C) per copy/imprint colour change.

• We require copy/imprint colour change orders to be 50% of our catalogue first column quantity per change.

• Orders are required to be catalogue minimum.

SPEC/PRE-PRODUCTION IMPRINTED SAMPLE

• If a price colour match is important, please order a sample for approval add $55.00 (C) plus the product cost and any additional charges at EQP.

• For spec pre-production lasered sample, please contact Customer Service.

• Magnus will provide a free spec sample at their discretion on certain order.

• Please allow an additional 5 working days for samples.

• These spec sample charges are non-refundable.

LESS THAN MINIMUM ORDER

• Minimum order price is as listed on our website and virtual catalogue. 50% off the catalogue first column quantity applies.

CLEARANCE ITEMS

• Inventory is sold on a first come first serve basis and stock will not be held in reserve.

• A substitute item will not be offered for items that are sold out.

• Clearance items are sold at a specific price and are not subjected to any additional customer or pricing discount.

SHIPPING

• If you have a carrier of choice please indicate on your purchase order with carrier account number, account holder name and address.

• USA customers please provide your FID number.

• If not specified, we will use our preferred carrier. Indicate your carrier # and account information on your purchase order.

• All shipments are FOB Scarborough plant including pick-up orders.

• Split shipments will incur a charge of $30.00 (C) per location, cannot be less than the catalogue minimum quantity and are treated as individual orders.

• Changes to shipping must be in writing and be submitted 48 hours prior to the shipping of your order.

• Ground and air parcel service rates are subject to change without notice.

• Due to fluctuation in fuel prices, if surcharges or accessorial charges are incurred, these will be added to the existing freight charges.

• Magnus will not be responsible for lost or damaged products or for tracking of product ship by mail. Any claims concerning lost delayed or damaged product must be made directly to the carrier.

• Maintain merchandise in original shipping box/boxes until a claims agent from the freight carrier has inspected the damage

• Magnus cannot assume responsibility for time delays in transit.

• Magnus responsibility ceases when the product is delivered to the carrier.

DOMESTIC PRODUCTION TIME

• Magnus allow 3-5 working days, Masterworks & Embroidery allow 10 to 15 working days from the time the artwork, spec preproduction sample, credit and proofs are approved.

• Over catalogue quantities please check with your CSR for ship date.

• Orders received after 2:00 PM is considered the following day.

• The day you order is received does not count as a working day.

OVERRUNS AND UNDERUNS

• We print exact quantities only, no additional charge.

IMPRINT COLOURS

• Please note: if PMS # is not specified Magnus Pen will use our standard colour or match accents.

• Exact PMS colour matches $55.00 (C). PMS COLOUR MATCH MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PAD PRINTING INKS.

• Please include your PMS colour match on your purchase order.

• Imprint colour comparison is based on printing on a white surface; colours will vary based on the surface colour.

STANDARD SELECTIONS FOR SCREEN PRINTING

• The ink specified in our catalogue will be supplied for a product.

• Additional ink options on select product are available.

• Additional lead-time and charges apply 2 working days.

• You may take advantage of our product colour selection by choosing various colours for an item.

• Imprint colour on various colour selections should be the same.

• Imprint colour changes add $30.00 (C) per colour change

• On certain pad printed products imprint colour selection maybe restricted.

UNIMPRINTED MERCHANDISE OR SAMPLES

• Any products ordered without imprint will be invoiced at EQP -5%.

• Orders will not be accepted for less than half of the catalogue minimum.

• Less than minimum charge of $50.00 (C) applies.

• Returned merchandise will incur $50.00 (C) restocking fee.

PRODUCT SAMPLES

• Samples are sold at End Quantity Pricing.

• No charge samples are determined by your account pricing level.

• The returns of samples for a refund are not accepted.

• The sample freight charges are the responsibility of the distributor.

• Provide your carrier account number or Magnus will bill you for the freight charges if Magnus carrier of choice is used.

SPECIAL PACKAGE + REFILL CHANGES

• Please allow 2 additional working days for production.

• Refill Change: metal pen (except WestPoint) add $.40 (C) plastic pens add $.25 (C).

• Refill purchases: add $.55 (C) metal pens and $.20 (C) plastic pens.

• Special packaging: qty 10-50 pens add $0.15 (C) 51-100 pens add $0.10 (C) 101-300 add $.08 (C)

OFFSHORE PRODUCTION ORDERS

• All the products in our catalogue which are sourced from overseas can be purchased by the distributor in larger quantities at preferred pricing.

• Yes, a large quantity purchase (5,000 metal pens 10,000 plastic pens and other products as low as 5,000) will be decorated overseas under quality control and Magnus Guarantee.

• Allow six weeks (Air Freight) and twelve weeks (by Sea) from the time the artwork and spec pre-production proofs are approved. Please e-mail (CSR@magnuspen.com) your quote and freight quote request today.

PRODUCT SOURCING

• Should you require any Item not listed in our catalogue or website please communicate with us and we will happily source it for you.

• Please note that offshore minimums may apply.
