Disaster Recovery Services For over two decades, Metric Engineering has been satisfying the needs of our clients when disaster strikes. Today, the Metric Engineering Group includes Maguire Group. Together we are over 500 dedicated multi-disciplinary professionals who stand ready to assist our clients in any way necessary to ensure the safety of the public during times of emergency and recovery thereafter. As full-service engineering firms, Metric and Maguire have integrated our core services that now consist of A&E services, environmental services, water and wastewater engineering, construction engineering and inspection, transportation planning and engineering, program management, network and systems integration, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to provide a complete solution for Emergency Management Services. Our goal is to serve federal, state, and local governments with the necessary intellectual, technological and manpower capacities to successfully develop, deploy, and direct emergency management programs that heighten the nation’s preparedness for, and response to, natural and man-made disasters.
In 2005, Metric managed over $100 million in emergency contracts for the Florida Department of Transportation related to disaster events. Maguire has provided similar services to many of our clients through on-call contracts and emergency services contracts. Part of these services include the crucial experience both firms have learned in advising clients on how to prepare for and respond to disaster in ways that are funding-reimbursable – i.e., the methods, procedures and mechanisms the government and federal agencies require for reimbursement when disasters are declared. With the costs of our services eligible for reimbursement through FEMA and FHWA grant programs, we help towns and entities plan for and recover every eligible disaster-related dollar they qualify for from the appropriate federal agency involved in disaster recovery.
