To reconstruct "one of the most dangerous roads in America," PennDOT overcame immense design and construction challenges to complete this engineering marvel of a modern highway at the Lewistown Narrows a year ahead of schedule. The project involved reconstruction of approximately ten miles of Route 22/322 from a two-lane alignment to a new four-lane highway in Mifflin and Juniata counties in Pennsylvania. As IWAY Program Manager, Maguire has been coordinating technical services and providing contract administration for over 24 subcontractors with Rhode Island DOT. Construction is being accomplished through the bidding / construction of numerous construction contracts (ranging from $3 million to $60 million), carefully phased and sequenced to assure project quality, worker safety, and minimal motorist disruption.
