THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF TWO MAIN ROUTES IN TEHRAN. THE PRESENCE OF HIGH-RISE BUILDING, AND AN ADJACENT PARK MADE THE SITE UNIQUE. TO ACCESS THE SITE THERE ARE BOTH DRIVE WAYS AND SIDEWALKS AVAILABLE. HOWEVER, DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF A WIDE SIDEWALK THE NUMBER OF PEDESTRIANS IS MORE THAN OTHER STREETS. THEREFORE, THE ENTRANCE OF THIS PROJECT IS DESIGNED TO HAVE A SMALL PUBLIC SPACE INSIDE WHICH ENABLES THE USERS TO ACCESS THE SHOPPING AREA THROUGH WIDE STAIRS. THIS PUBLIC SPACE CAN BE UTILIZED FOR PUBLIC GATHERINGS OR STREET MUSIC EVENTS, WHICH ATTRACTS MORE USERS. TO FACILITATE THE EMERGENCY SITUATIONS THE ENTRANCE OPENS TO THE WIDER STREET. THIS BUILDING IS DEIGNED TO BE ICONIC BECAUSE THE PARK PROVIDES A WIDE VIEW TO THE BUILDING. PROCESS DESIGN

DUE TO THE UNIQUE LOCATION OF THE BUILDING A LOGGIA IS INCLUDED IN HIGHER LEVELS. INSTEAD OF HAVING THE LOGGIA ON THE ROOF TOP, IT IS LOCATED ON THE MIDDLE FLOORS WHICH ARE PUBLIC. THE REASON FOR DOING SO IS HAVING PUBLIC AREAS IN THE PROGRAM OF THE BUILDING AND THE GREAT VIEW TO THE CITY WHICH SUCH SEMI-OPEN SPACE CAN ALSO PROVIDE.

THE UNIQUE PIXELATE DEIGN OF THIS BUILDING CORRESPONDS TO ITS SPECIAL LOCATION IN THE AREA. USING CONCRETE AND BRICKS AS A COMBINATION OF TRADITION AND MODERNITY MAKES THE BUILDING EVEN MORE DISTINCTIVE.

LBC-LA INTERNATIONAL STUDENT COMPETITION, 3RD POSITION 2017 TOPICAL STUDIO: FALL 2017 LOS ANGELES PAVILION INDIVIDUAL
POINTS MAKE LINES, LINES MAKE FORM AND FORM CREATE SPACES. THIS WAS THE PRIMARY IDEA BEHIND THIS PROJECT: POINT SWEEP ALONG PATHS AND WIRES GENERATE SPACES. IN EXPLORATION STEPS, I POPULATED RANDOM POINTS IN 3D SPACE AND RAILED TO CREATE WIRES. THE FORM FINDING PROCESS BEGAN WITH SCRIPTING. THE COMPONENT IS USED CREATES RANDOM AGENTS AS POINTS TO SWEEP ALONG RAILS THAT CHANGE IT VECTOR IN 3 DIMENSIONAL SPACE WIRES ARE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS AND MAKE SEMI-OPEN SPACES SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE COLLECTION OF DISCRETE RAILS NOT ONLY IS A SYMBOL OF ASSEMBLAGE OBJECTS THEY ALL CREATE A BIGGER OBJECT AS A WHOLE.

ONE OF THE IDEAS FOR DESIGNING THIS PAVILION WAS TO CREATE A BUILDING THAT HAS DIFFERENT PURPOSES FROM DAY TO NIGHT. THIS BUILDING HAS TWO EXTERNAL SKINS . THE FIRST ENCLOSURE WHICH HAS MANY OPENINGS WHICH CREATES INTERESTING COMBINATIONS OF SHADOW AND LIGHT IN THE INTERIOR SPACE. SECOND SKIN WHICH IS BUILT OF PIPES DOES NOT BLOCK THE VIEW TO THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT. DESIGNING THIS PAVILION AS AN ICON FOR LOS ANGELES LET ME DEVELOP THE IDEA OF USING COLORFUL LIGHTS AT NIGHT FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.

USING PIPES HAS ALSO THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING THE HEAT FROM SOLAR RADIATION. AS THE SUN HEATS UP THE WATER AND THE GLYCOL MIXTURE IN THE PIPES, THERMAL ENERGY GETS COLLECTED IN UNDERGROUND TANKS. THE THERMAL ENERGY CAN THEN BE USED FOR MULTIPLE PURPOSES INCLUDING; HEATING THE BUILDING AT NIGHT BY RECIRCULATING THE STORED HOT WATER, COOLING THE BUILDING DURING THE DAY, USING ABSORPTION CHILLERS, OR EVEN GENERATING ELECTRICITY USING THE THERMAL GRADIENTS.

BIRDS EYE VIEW OF THE SITE CREATING PIPES AS THE FACADE OF BUILDING GIVES BUILDING A UNIQUE APPEARANCE. IT CAUSES THE BUILDING TO HAVE A EXTENSIVELY INFLUENCE THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT. THE BUILDING CAN BE USED AS A LANDMARK FOR THAT AREA OF THE LA.

AN OBJECT WITHIN AN OBJECT STUDIO: SPRING 2014 TEHRAN INDIVIDUAL CULTURAL WE ANALYZE OUR ENVIRONMENT ACCORDING TO OUR 5 SENSES. BUT THE REALITY OF OBJECTS ARE DIFFERENT. AT FIRST GLANCE HUMAN SIMULATE OBJECTS LIKE WHAT THEY SAW OR EXPERIENCED IN THEIR PAST MEMORIES. BUT ALL OF THE OBJECTS HAS THEIR SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS. ALL OF THE CRYSTALS ARE DIFFERENT IN SHAPE, COLOR OR AGE. SO THE VARIABLES SHOW THE CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH CRYSTALS. BUT THE REALITY OF CRYSTALS ARE MORE THAN THE VISUAL QUALITIES WE SEE.

GENERATED CRYSTALS FOR EVALUATING THE FORMS THIS FORM-FINDING WAS BASED ON AN EXPLORATION THAT I HAD TO FIND OUT HOW I CAN GENERATE HAVE MILLIONS OF CRYSTAL FORM USING PROGRAMMING. I GENERATED RANDOM POINTS AND I MADE THEM CONNECTED THROUGH SURFACES.

TEATHER IS ALSO SITUATED IN THE INNER OBJECT IN ORDER TO CLASSIFY THE MAIN SPACES AND PUBLIC SPACES. THE VOIDS IN LEVELS LET PEOPLE SEE THE VOLUME OF THE INNER OBJECTS THAT ARE FLOATING IN THE AIR.

THE SITE OF THE PROJECT HAS A GREAT POTENTIAL FOR DESIGNING AN ICONIC BUILDING.FOR STARTING THE DESIGN OF THE FORM OF THIS BUILDING AFTER ANALYZING THE SITE OF THE PROJECT I REALIZED THAT THE SHAPE OF THE SITE IS SPECIAL. AN ENTRY SHAPED ACCORDING TO THE SHAPE OF THE SITE. BEING COMPATIBLE WITH THE SHAPE OF SITE HELPED TO BUILD ON HAVING A GOOD WELCOMING.
THE BUILDING HAS TWO MAIN SUB PARTS AND EACH OF THEM MANIFEST THE SAME SPACES BUT WITH A DIFFERENT SIZE. BOTH OF THEM ACCORDING TO THE DIAGRAM HAVE THEATERS WITH A DIFFERENT SCALE, COFFEE SHOP AND RESTAURANT FOR DINING, SPACES FOR DISCUSSION ABOUT THE MOVIES. ALSO, THERE ARE COMMERCIAL SPACES FOR SHOPPING AND BUFFETS FOR MARKETING.
THERE WAS A PRIMARY SKETCH OF THE FORM BUT DURING THE DESIGN PROCESS, THE SHAPE OF THE BUILDING HAS CHANGED . THE FIRST FORM COMES FROM A POLYGON WITH A SLOPED ROOF TO ABSORB THE ENERGY OF THE SUNLIGHT.

04 A FORM BEHIND SKIN 22ND CYCLE WORLD ARCHITECTURE COMMUNITY TOPICAL STUDIO: FALL 2011 MASOULEH RESIDENTIAL INDIVIDUAL
MASOULEH IS A SUSTAINABLE VILLAGE LOCATED IN THE FOOTHILLS OF THE MOUNTAINS WITH UNIQUE CLIMATIC DESIGN STRATEGIES. ALL OF THE HOUSES IN MASOULEH FACE THE SUN AND HAVE BEEN ORIENTED FOR MAXIMUM UTILIZATION OF SOLAR ENERGY. MOREOVER, MASOULEH HAS BEEN BUILT AS A SET OF STEEP STAIRS ARCHITECTURE-WISE BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL MOUNTAINOUS CONDITIONS. IN OTHER WORDS, THE ROOF OF EVERY HOUSE WOULD SERVE AS THE YARD OF THE UPPER HOUSE AND THE WALLS OVERLAP MASOULEH VILLAGE

FORM ACCORDING TO UNPLEASANT WIND
ONE OF THE SUSTAINABLE STRATEGIES THAT ARE COMMON FOR THIS COLD CLIMATE IS SINKING BUILDING INTO THE EARTH, TO BE MORE EXACT INTO THE SOIL (TRADITIONAL SUSTAINABLE STRATEGY IN IRAN). THIS STRATEGY WAS MORE FOR THE BUILDINGS TO KEEP THEIR HEATING ENERGY AND HAS LESS TO DO THE OUTER ENVIRONMENT. BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT SOIL KEEPS BUILDING WARM IN COLD WEATHER AND COOL IN HOT WEATHER (BECAUSE IT DOESN'T GET DIRECT SUNLIGHT). IN THIS PROJECT THE PUBLIC SPACE OF THE BUILDING IS PLANTED TO THE SOIL MOUNTAIN SO IT DECREASES DRAMATICALLY THE LOSS OF THERMAL ENERGY SO IT DOES NOT NEED EXTRA FOSSIL ENERGY.
SKIN SKETCHES THE SKIN IS DESIGNED WITH RESPECT TO THE CONTEXT. SOFT CURVE MOUNTAIN WAS MY INSPIRATION FOR DESIGNING THE SKIN. I WANT TO NOTE THAT THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS SHAPE IS THE ORIENT FORM ACCORDING TO THE PLEASANT AND UNPLEASANT WIND IN SUMMER AND WINTER RESPECTIVELY.

IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE UNITS ECOTECT USED FOR ANALYZING SOLAR RADIATION AND ANNUAL WIND. THE SOLUTIONS OF THIS PROJECT WERE A COMBINATION OF TRADITIONAL STRATEGY FOR DESIGNING IN SPECIAL CLIMATE CONDITION. ANALYZING THE UNITS WITH ENERGY SIMULATION SOFTWARE HELP ARCHITECT TO SELECT PROPER OPTIONS.
MASOULEH VILLAGE HAS A NARROW WAY FOR RESIDENTS AND IT IS ORIENTED TOWARDS THE SOUTH BECAUSE OF THE SUN. THIS ORIENTATION CAUSES THE BUILDING TO GAIN THE SOLAR ENERGY AND WIND THAT BLOWS FROM THE WEST IN WINTER.
UNITS WERE DESIGNED LIKE THE VERNACULAR HOUSE OF MASOULEH AND UNITS HAVE OVERLAP, MEANING THE YARD OF THE UPPER LEVEL IS THE ROOF OF THE LOWER HOUSE.

IN BEETWEEN IS A 150-FOOT WIDE, 200-FOOT TALL INHABITABLE WALL COMPRISED OF ARCHITECTURAL VERNACULAR REPRESENTING ALL CULTURES OF THE WORLD THROUGH OCCUPIABLE SPACES THAT CREATES THE DENSE URBAN ENVIRONMENT. A RESIDENT OF LOS DOS LIVES EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE THROUGH THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE WORLD AND ENGAGES CITIZENS OF ALL PLACES THROUGH COPIOUS PUBLIC SPACES. UNLIKE THE DIVIDING LINE THAT HAS BEEN BORDERS OF THE PAST AND PRESENT, THE LOS DOS OPERATES AS AN INCLUSIVE NEUTRAL CITY. AMERICAN IMPOSED TRAVEL BANS CAN PREVENT FAMILIES FROM REUNITING, HOWEVER, THE LOCATIONS ALONG THE BORDER CAN ALLOW SAFE MEETING SPACES FOR FAMILIES TO VISIT ONE ANOTHER AND RETURN TO THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTRIES. THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AIMS TO SECURE THE CANADIAN-AMERICAN BORDER AS WELL, BUT NOT WITH THE SAME VIGOR. TEAM MEMBER : ASHKAN RADNIA OUR PROJECT PROPOSES THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TOWERS OF THE CHÂTEAU WITH VITRINE MATERIALS TO REFLECT THE ORIGINAL CASTLE’S FORM AND CHARACTER. THE EFFECTS OF THIS RECONSTRUCTED TRANSPARENCY EMBODY THE NOTION OF THE TIME-SPACE CONTINUUM OF A WORMHOLE. BY USING THE EFFECTS OF NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL LIGHT WITHIN THE RECONSTRUCTED TOWERS, THE IMAGE OF THE CHATEAU MAY BE SEEN IN ITS RUINOUS STATE, RECALL ITS ORIGINAL MEDIEVAL AND GOTHIC REVIVAL PRESENCE ON THE LAND, AND/OR MAKE EXPLICIT CURRENT DAY MODERN EXPECTATIONS AND USES. THE MATERIALS FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION WILL INCLUDE LIGHT EMITTING CONCRETE AND HIGH-STRENGTH COMPRESSIVE GLASS, IN CONCERT WITH COMPUTER-CONTROLLED LED LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY, TO YIELD THE DESIRED LUMINOUS EFFECTS AND TIME NARRATIVES.

WE IMAGINE THE CHÂTEAU AS A PUBLIC VENUE FOR HOSTING THEATRICAL AND FILM PRODUCTION, CINEMA FESTIVALS, AND FASHION EVENTS. AT THE SAME TIME, THE DAY-TO-DAY ACCESSIBLE NATURE OF THE STRUCTURE, LANDSCAPE, AND TOWNS PRESENTS A CONTINUOUS STREAM OF PATRONS THAT IS OPPORTUNE FOR VACATIONERS TO ENJOY THE CHÂTEAU, PARK, AND WOODS OF THE ESTATE.

CONTEMPORARY HOUSE FOR A TRADITIONAL FAMILY PROFESSIONAL PROJECT 2014 SIRJAN INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTIAL
THIS PROJECT IS SPLITTED INTO TWO PARTS: SUMMER AND WINTER. .THE SITE GETS HOT AND ARID DURING SUMMER AND DURING WINTER IS COLD. THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DAY AND NIGHT TEMPORATURE IS DRASTIC. THE SUMMER PART IS DESIGNED FOR RESIDENCE OF FAMILY IN SUMMER THAT IS LOCATED IN NORTH SIDE OF THE SITE. SINCE, THE SOUTH SIDE GAINS DIRECT SUNLIGHT THE WALLS AND AIR TEMPORATURE WILL BE HOT IN SUMMER AND WILL NOT BE USABLE DURING THE SUMMER.

THE CLIENT OF THIS PROJECT REQUESTED A CHEAP AND UNIQUE FACADE ALONG WITH DIFFERENT FLOOR PLANS FOR EACH FLOOR. PLANS NEEDED DIFFERENT CIRCULATION TO ADDRESS THEIR EMPLOYEES NEEDS IN ADDITION TO FUNCTIONALITIES LIKE A PRINTING LAB. THE BIGGEST PORTION OF THE SPACE WAS ALLOCATED TO WORK SPACE FILLED WITH DESKS. THE PROJECT WAS LOCATED IN A CROWDED STREET. THE NUMBER OF WINDOWS INCREASED AND WERE EXTENDED VERTICALLY TO INCREASE THE NATURAL LIGHT.

PROFESSIONAL WORK QOM GROUP WORK: FORM AND PLAN DESIGNING, DIAGRAMS, RENDERS
TO ADDRESS BOTH THE MODERN AND CLASSIC TASTE WE DECIDED TO INTEGRATE A COURT YARD IN A BUILDING WITH MODERN APPEARANCE. THE COMBINATION OF BRICK AND WHITE FACADE WITH WINDOW GARDENS GIVE THE FACADE VITALITY. THE BIG ENTRANCE ALSO CAPTURES THE PLEASANT WIND IN SUMMER DUO TO THE WARM CLIMATE OF THE AREA. A PUBLIC SPACE THAT INCLUEINCLUDING GYM AND CAFE IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF RESIDENTIAL AREA WITH THE HIGHESTDENSITY.

SOMETIMES THERE IS NO OTHER WAY BESIDES LEAVING ALL YOUR BELONGINGS AND STARTING A JOURNEY TO SOMEWHERE ELSE. MIGRATION CAN BE AS VAGUE AS THE PREVIOUS SENTENCE! THE REASONS BEHIND MIGRATION, MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. HOWEVER, WHETHER TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT, THEY HAVE ONE ASPECT IN COMMON: HOPE FOR A BETTER FUTURE. IF YOU IMAGINE A COMMUNITY AS A PUZZLE, EACH PERSON IS A PIECE THAT MAKES THE COMMUNITY COMPLETE. I DESIGNED THROUGH METAPHOR. THE BOX IS THE SYMBOL OF A COMMUNITY. WHEN EARTHQUAKE COMES THE BOX CRACKS. PIECES BECOME SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER AND THERE MIGHT BE NOTHING TO SAVE, THEY HAVE TO LEAVE THE BOX. AND THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF DETACHMENT … THIS PIECE IS SHOWING THE TIME OF SEPARATION.
