Autumn winds are in the air and as we draw closer to winter we start our Easter preparations at Waterfall Mall.
We are absolutely rushing our way through 2019, and would you believe that its almost Easter time again. After a blisteringly hot and often-time wet summer, it is a welcome pleasure to invite autumn into our homes. Check out our top choices for the fabulous floral trends instore throughout the mall on page 4.
Also in this issue of News Flash, we want to invite you to take inspiration from some of our Easter preparations and celebrations ideas from planning a candy-free Easter hunt, to perfect games for a family celebration. We also have the perfect DIY ice-cream Easter egg recipe and obviously a sampling of all the best chocolate treats and eggs you can find throughout the mall.
Please spend some time with us this season and come join us for some of our activations such as our "what's in the Box" promotion. Guess what's in the box and the contents could be yours.
With all that having been said, we would like to wish you a very happy Easter and a wonderful Autumn. Soak up the last of the season's sunny days and come and spend your time with us at Waterfall Mall. Marlene Bouwer

Autumn is upon us, and as always there are streams of new trends pouring in. And while we all love to try new trends and fast fashion advice, sometimes we just want a trend we’re comfortable and familiar with. Lucky for you 2019 sees a return (or reboot) of a tried and true favourite… you guessed it, florals are still all the rage. Floral prints go literally with everything. They’re versatile and pair easily with other patterns. In the case of autumn, floral designs match beautifully with black or dark tones, as well as with denim jackets and a light leather biker, which we all know are go-to colors for the chilly season. If you’re looking to wear lighter and more playful shades this year, flowers and foliage are your effortless solution to keep things from being too plain.

The Perfect
easter GAMES FOR ALL
Try these fun Easter games and activities for all ages. Golden Easter Egg Hide a gold Easter egg with money in it. This makes the hunt even more exciting. The kids will love the competition between who will find the golden Easter egg first. Egg Bowling Here's an Easter egg hunt idea for teenagers or adults. Use coloured hard-boiled eggs and one white hard-boiled egg. Roll the white one into the centre of a room and take turns to see who can roll their coloured egg closest to the white egg. Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt Perfect for an indoor or outdoor Easter egg hunt, this easy game relies on clues hidden around your house. Write out simple clues with each hidden location leading them to the next. Be sure to number the clues so they don't skip one. At the end, have a filled Easter basket waiting for them! Egg Hunt Acting Like the classic game charades, this Easter egg hunt idea is perfect for adults. Once the eggs have been found, gather inside for a festive Easter-themed acting contest. Divide into teams and see who can guess the most. Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt Put a fun spin on the classic egg hunt. At dusk, fill plastic eggs (look for translucent eggs) with glow-in-the dark necklaces and bracelets.

all about eaSter eggs
A lot of us may munch on chocolate eggs at Easter, but did you know that originally eating eggs during the week leading up to Easter was not allowed.
So this meant any eggs laid that week were saved and decorated to make them Holy Week eggs, that were then given to children as gifts. Victorians later adapted the tradition with satin-covered cardboard eggs filled with Easter gifts. Over the years this celebration evolved into the tradition that many people enjoy today. The first chocolate eggs appeared in France and Germany in the 19th Century, but they were bitter and hard. As chocolate-making techniques improved, hollow eggs like the ones we have today were developed. They very quickly became popular and remain a favourite tradition with chocolate-lovers today.

METHOD To make the Vanilla Semifreddo Eggs: »»In a small casserole, bring water (about 4cm deep) to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. »» Place the eggs, vanilla powder and caster sugar in a heatproof bowl over the casserole and whisk until light and fluffy. Take off the heat and allow to cool. Whisk the cream until stiff and fold into the egg mixture.
»»Boil water in a saucepan, then turn down to a simmer. Break the chocolate into pieces and place into a heatproof bowl over the saucepan to melt. Use the melted chocolate to brush the Easter Egg moulds. »»Refrigerate until hard and repeat the process three more times. Spoon in the semifreddo and freeze overnight. »»Un-mould and stick the two halves together (they will automatically stick). Decorate with melted chocolate and keep in the freezer until needed. To make the Chocolate Semifreddo Eggs: »»Repeat the same process with the eggs, caster sugar and cream as above. Boil water in a saucepan. Turn the heat down to a simmer. »»Break the dark chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl over the saucepan to melt. »»Add the melted chocolate to the egg mixture and mix well. »»Repeat the preceding step with the white chocolate, this time brushing the Easter Egg moulds with the melted chocolate. »»Refrigerate until hard and repeat the process three more times. »»Spoon in the semifreddo and freeze overnight. Un-mold and stick the two halves together. »»Decorate with melted chocolate and keep in the freezer until needed.

COMING TO THE BIG SCREEN THE QUEENS CORGI The Queen's Corgi is about the adventure of Rex, the British monarch's most beloved dog, who loses track of his mistress and stumbles across a clan with dogs of all kinds confronting and fighting each other. THE STOLEN PRINCESS This wonderful story happened in the age of valiant knights, beautiful princesses, and battling sorcerers. Ruslan, a wandering artist dreaming to become a knight, met beautiful Mila and fell in love with her; he didn't even suspect that she is the King's daughter. However, the lovers' happiness wasn't meant to last too long. Chornomor, the evil sorcerer, appeared in a magic vortex and stole Mila right before Ruslan's eyes to transform her power of love into his own magic power. Without further ado, Ruslan sets out on a chase after the stolen princess to overcome all obstacles and to prove that real love is stronger than magic. THE STOLEN PRINCESS will be in Ster Kinekor theaters from 3 May 2019.
