Main Street Washington (MSW) is a community & volunteer based program for improving the heart of our community. Officially designated in 2008 as a Main Street Iowa community, MSW employs the National Main Street Center’s Four Point Approach to Downtown Revitilization. Volunteers work in a concerted fashion to enhance the social, physical, and economic well-being of our historic downtown district through comprehensive efforts in the areas of Design, Organization, Promotion, and Economic Restructuring. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, community driven organization, MSW is supported by public and private investors. Collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships which maximize return on investment and create a culturally diverse, economically vibrant, and highly sustainable downtown district. Earthly Blessings Earthly Blessings is a non-profit store who proceeds help support St. James School. Purple Petunia Purple Petunia opened on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2015, with 5 rooms and 2 hallways full of beautiful upscale merchandise. The rooms have a variety of items from clothing sizes newborn to 6x, decorative items including barn-board wood stars, kitchen items, linens, collectibles, wood products, and antiques. We have special rooms including our Junior’s room and plus sizes.
Purple Petunia recently added a flower garden which we host style shows, tea times, and coming this fall Pumpkin Painting! Since opening last spring we’ve grown to 10 rooms and 3 hallways for your shopping convenience. They are full of wonderful, fun, adorable, classy, cute, beautiful, and awesome items!
