Industry decarbonization is going to be achieved through electrification, as much as feasible, and alternative hydrogen-based & circular carbon solutions to lower emissions. Ready-to-market decarbonization technologies are already available, but there is still a need for a large-scale deployment of key levers, such as Green & Blue Hydrogen and Carbon Capture Storage and CO2 Utilization projects. GREEN CIRCULAR DISTRICT MODEL
NEXTCHEM has developed the Green Circular District Model, which integrates several green chemistry and circular economy technologies. This model integrates proprietary and licensed technologies that are already validated and available, and ready to be implemented on-site. The Green Circular District aims to convert brownfield industrial sites according to green principles, especially in the petrochemical and steel sectors. The goal of the Green Circular District is to produce recycled polymers to replace virgin plastics, along with low-carbon chemicals that can be used in various industrial chains, such as the furniture and chemical industries, and the transport sector, through the recovery of waste and the use of renewable feedstocks
In the Green Circular District post-consumer waste can be treated using NEXTCHEM’s proprietary MyReplast Upcycling technology, which can produce new high-quality recycled polymers that have the same chemical and physical characteristics as virgin plastic. Non-recyclable plastics and non-recyclable waste can be chemically converted recovering the carbon and hydrogen stored within them. Through the chemical conversion a synthesis Circular Gas is obtained, and it can be used to produce chemicals like ammonia, Circular Methanol, Circular Ethanol, and Circular Hydrogen. Furthermore, the Green Circular District can produce green hydrogen through an electrolysis process that starts with water and renewable energy sources, like the sun and the wind. At the same time, the Green Circular District can host plants for the production of biofuels and e-fuels, green ammonia, biochemicals, and biopolymers.
