Populo Square The Populo Square is one of the main square of Baeza, also known as lions’ square because there we can observe the lions’ fountain. The fountain is crowned by the statue of Himilce, Iberian princess and Anibal’s wife. Both the fountain and the square are part of an old Roman city, Cástulo. Walking through the walls in the early morning in Baeza Nature is the best monument in the world. In the morning the view from the Guadalquivir Valley is relaxing. I'm alone. I walk with my dog, there is silence and you only hear sounds of birds, wind and so on. I'm Happy there.

The Old Wall The Arabs made the walls in Baeza in the 11th century with the idea of protecting the Arab castle or “alcazar”. Here, the Arab king and his family lived and needed protection because Christians were enemies and attacked Baeza City for a long time. This castle was in the “Cerro de los Angeles”. ●

One wall was to protect the castle and the second one was to protect the city Some people said that the walls had 15 towers but now there are only two Now, they are very important and interesting monuments and tourists can visit them
