The brief Design a single / range of homeware products using sheet material manufacturing ( laser, water and plasma cutting ).
The purpose behind focusing on the production method was to be mindful of the materials used and the wastage.

‘ Tr4y ’ for you
Laser-cut, stainless steel serving trays with rolled over handles . They have a glossy paint finish and are available in four different colours. The design was inspired by how the tray would be held, hence I focused on different handle designs and grips that would fit the simple, minimalistic rectangular tray.

How it’s made: 0.9mm stainless steel sheet, laser-cut, bent, and handles are rolled over on itself. This reduces the scrap metal that would occur as an outcome of the production.

02 Designing for Brand The brief The challenge with this brief was to design an immersive experience and exclusive KITKAT product offering for Nestle Chocolatory. Sustainability is an integral part of our world and this can been seen in their work within The Nestle Cocoa Plan. The Cocoa plan is an integral part of the future for the KITKAT brand and we aim to ensure that all our cocoa is 100% sourced sustainably. The product / experience must promote the essence of The Nestlé Cocoa Plan to life in a fun and engaging way.

The paper is made using recycled cocoa waste- the skins of the cocoa beans that are taken off once they have been fermented and dried. About 3.5 million tonnes of cocoa produced annually, their skins can be saved and turned into paper.

Designing for Consultancy Group project
The brief Design a smartphone for the year 2025 considering future macro trends and specific user groups. The approach we took was Enhancing experience of the activity by restricting use of device during their activity, hence the concepts are devices that can be put away.
Organic shapes Symmetry
Refined Brief Design a smartphone for the year 2025; aimed towards OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS reducing their need to carry a lot of equipment/ tech, allowing them to focus on and enhance their experience of the activity.
Target Group - Active/Explorer Explorer- City dwellers who enjoy exploring the outdoors on weekends. Active users- people who engage in physical activities as a hobby/ health & fitness purposes.
Ravi 35 years old Business manager Lives in the city Enjoys outdoor activities, Travelling, hiking, exploring.
Concept 1 – Wearable Smartphone Concept 2 – Screen Projection Watch Smartphone that splits around the top centre point and aligns horizontally to be worn around the neck. This limits the use of the device during the activity. Screen can be joint back to use as a phone.
Screen projection smartwatch for hikers. The device measures the distance covered by the user and heart rate allowing the user to keep track of their health, it comes with a USB port and Bluetooth connection so the user can access the information recorded either on their phones or laptops.
Concept 3 - ‘Smart Earpiece’
Voice Controlled Earpieces with a clip on case. Device responds to commands given by user- through verbal interaction. Works even when in the case. The user can leave their phone behind. Enhances their experience of the activity by restricting use- reduces use of mobile phone and time spent looking at the screen- directs focus on the activity. Light-weight easy to carry device.

Ergonomic earpieces- shaped to fit perfectly along the curves of the ear. Clip-on case- charges the device. Allows device to be used even when not in the ear– speaker feature activated whilst in the case.

Directs- GPS Tracks/documents-collects data of the activity and sends to another device. Records- can records audio. Contact- has sim card within it. Other basic functions- date, time weather, music, etc.

> Silicone (earphone tip) better comfort , noise cancelling. > Clip-on charging case that acts as a speaker once earpieces are in the case.
> Touch sensitive front face of the earpiece to activate the device.
