BEST of the BEST

Marin Magazine Editor in Chief Lotus Abrams and Publisher Leah Bronson

August is here, and it just might be our favorite month of the year at Marin Magazine — the sun is out and the weather is warm, luring us outdoors in Marin and beyond. But what makes this month particularly special is that it’s the time of year when we get to celebrate our fantastic Best of the County winners — restaurants, fitness studios, kids’ clothing shops, spas and more — all chosen by you! These local Marin County and Bay Area businesses and organizations have worked hard to earn your trust and loyalty, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to shower them with praise and recognition in this issue and at our upcoming in-person event this month.

We know you’re as excited as we are to see who won the 2022 Best of the County competition on page 38. After all, we received more votes — a whopping 46,183 — than any other year. This year, we made voting even easier by including nominees on the ballot to choose from for each category, along with a write-in field so you could vote for your favorite business even if you didn’t see it on the list.

We want to congratulate this year’s crop of winners — we hope you’ll proudly share the news with all of your clients, customers, colleagues, friends and family members. If your business didn’t make the winners’ circle this year, here’s how you can increase your chances next year: 1 Subscribe to our e-mail Better Letter newsletter at marinmagazine. com/subscribe and follow us on social media @marinmagazine to stay up to date on all of our Best of the County news. 2 Get nominated to be listed on our ballot. Each year, we reach out to previous winners to ask them to nominate other businesses. Through our Better Letter and social media, we also invite readers to nominate their favorite businesses. Businesses with the most votes are pre-loaded on our voting ballot, so make sure you encourage your customers, friends and family members to nominate you. 3 Once voting begins, get the word out to your followers to vote for your business — they can vote as many times as they want! We post regularly on social media during the voting window, making it easy to share our posts and stories with your followers.

4 Don’t be discouraged if your business’s name doesn't make it onto the ballot. Encourage your followers to write in their vote for you. This year, eight of the 163 Best of the County awards went to write-in winners.
