That's a simplified version of the truth—in reality, brains are constantly growing and developing. Healthy brain development is crucial to both cognitive and physical development. The following 4 tips are a good place to start.

If you read to your kid, he'll probably develop the habit of reading for fun as well. In the United States, less than half of children begin reading on their own before age 5. Even by the end of the third grade, less than half of children are at grade level in reading. Children who begin reading at an early age and are able to enjoy books regularly are better able to develop a love for reading.
