For architecture is suďŹƒcient three elements: a place, a limit and a human form. The place incorporates architectural intervention into the wider environment, the limit gives her a spatiality and the human form the functionality it has as existence.

FREEBOARDS OF AN URBAN ARCHIPELAGO: INTERVENING ON THE ATHENIAN TERRACE
Idea If we compare the interior part of the city as a the seabed, and flow of everyday life as the sea, which draws you away like a stream-wave and constantly moving you wherever its flow goes, then the roofs are the freeboards of an urban archipelago, that pop up over the city level, in which you can catch them and escape for a while. Freeboard // (a) the distance between the waterline and the main deck or weather deck of a ship or between the level of the water and the upper edge of the side of a small boat, (b) the height above the recorded highwater mark of a structure (such as a dam) associated with the water.
Concept The meaning of freeboards can be described, as the selective activation of some terraces, within the dense urban fabric, through the multiple typologies proposed as an initial impulse for the occupation of this new territory of this much needed air, defined by the ridge, and therefore the occupation of the Attic Basin. Typologies are placed in rooſtop chambers that meet specific requirements, following a specific strategy before we characterize them as freeboards. Such an intention cannot be applied at the narrow margins of a local area, because urban regions such as the one of Athens show similar characteristics and could therefore support a common, transportable, project. Finally, cannot be determined with accuracy on how the city will embrace the freeboards, as we are talking about a completely unknown action, followed by an equally unknown reaction. In general, the character of the project focuses on the intent and the approach of the top side, rather than on its unitary solution. For this reason it leaves open pathways,to the majority of its parts, to every citizen-walker, supporter-dissident, spectator-voyeur.
To be liſted to the summit of the World Trade Center is to be liſted out of the city's grasp. One's body is no longer clasped by the streets that turn and return it according to an anonymous law; nor is it possessed, whether as player or played, by the rumble of so many differences and by the nervousness of New York traffic. When one goes up there, he leaves behind the mass that carries off and mixes up in itself any identity of authors or spectators. An Icarus flying above these waters, he can ignore the devices of Daedalus in mobile and endless labyrinths far below. His elevation transfigures him into a voyeur. It puts him at a distance. It transforms the bewitching world by which one was "possessed" into a text that lies before one's eyes. It allows one to read it, to be a solar Eye, looking down like a god. The exaltation of a scopic and gnostic drive: the fiction of knowledge is related to this lust to be a viewpoint and nothing more. Must one finally fall back into the dark space where crowds move back and forth, crowds that, though visible from on high, are themselves unable to see down below? An Icarian fall. On the 110th floor, a poster, sphinx-like, addresses an enigmatic message to the pedestrian who is for an instant transformed into a visionary: It's hard to be down when you're up. Mare Nostrum: FUTURE PROSECUTION OF CULTURE Idea The idea is centered on the Mediterranean Sea in a topographical as well as a conceptual sense. The concept of Mediterranean Sea, historically, is synonym by terms, meeting, crossroads, and encounter. As a future conveyor of these concepts, we imagine a common meeting place for travelers, where they can temporarily stop while passing through this wet “ground” which randomly mixes, over and over, cultures and civilizations producing what we call multicultural trade. This place is a multilevel structure in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. A significant element of this idea is the beach as a place and a definition. Beach // a linear space in the world circumference, a limit between land and sea, a breaking point. It is the point where one meets their fear, coming into contact with this liquid terrain. An empty space without identity, a blank area (tabula rasa), which encourages the traveler to fill it, as a resident of the beach for a while. Moreover, the beach exposes the individual, not only the from the attire, but the face from the social mask that personalizes and classifies it. Individuals at the beach forget their social identity and obtain a different perception of happiness than what they had in the city. Social relationships of the beach are much more freely and the tourist pursues to discover them.
Concept According to this perception we imagine a future expression of an aggregation of common meeting and culture exchange places scattered by height. Each level is a unique landscape, a different expression of the coastal limit with different geomorphic properties and a unique common characteristic, the sea; which suggests the unifying agent of the Mediterranean Sea. The modern tourist seeks the authenticity of the Mediterranean landscape in their destination. Therefore, this landscape must somehow attract their attention. States and cities treat the Mediterranean Sea as a tradable good with the ultimate goal to monetize it. We believe that a completely artificial platform, a modern inn, creates the above authenticity by the blending of cultures.

Reformation of Volos Pier Concept This project refers to redevelopment of pier of Volos port (Greece). Volos is a small town betweenPagasitikos sea and Mount Pelion. So has a large advent of people through the transport network (port, train station, bus station, road). Based on the above observation,we decided to gather all the transport networks at the pier and so to create a landmark for the citizens of Volos. The basic alignments design is a combination of the three different types of the city grid (City center, Nea Ionia, Old town). So we create a route of each transport network of city. These are: pavement, bikeway, bus station, train station and ship docks. Τhe program of the project completed with a Μarket area (ground flor), Studentor not residences, Cinema-Theater-Gallery, Parks, Rest areas as well as a big Mall-Museum. The buildings structure has an upward slope to the sea. With this movement we like to emphasize the edge of the wharf as the outcome of a movement throughout the whole pier. The residences based on 5 different typologies, depending on the number of residents. The residences are developed around the staircase for easier access. Their views have unequal openings, allowing sunlight to enter inside them. At these points dominates also the green element. At the end of the pier there is the Mall-Museum as the landmark of the whole site. This place intends to host a lot of people and to give a new identity in the around area. In front of the Mall we create a small marina forthe access of the smaller ships, boats and yachts in the site area.
04 is|land
Concept The Island is located in Pagasitikos gulf (Volos) and offers various activities and facilities in the bathers. Its a small artificial ‘island’ but it provides the same opportunities for ephemeral residence as a real land (is land). The island consists of its base(marine, pool, coffee shop, rest areas, travel services), a main body with 4 levels(pool area, camping area, fish market, square) and two towers, the hotel located on leſt tower while the hostel on the other one. There, one has the opportunity to choose his residence way(hotel, camping, hostel). Simultaneously, the access to this is done with private boat or passengers terminal for cruise ships, which is there, or taxi marine, that brings directly in contact with Volos.
05 U2project
Concept The site is located in Thessaloniki (Greece) between Kaukatzoglou and Lampraki street, on the Karamanlis avenue. The U project 2
refers to the design of urban square and a public building. The starting point of design was the creation of a curve, which separates the existing pavement from our site. According to this direction, formed the geometry of building, which resembles a hill. As a result of this, was the division of the land into two parts In one of them there are rest areas and green areas, which are tilted because of the height dierence. On the other part was designed a straight pathpavement, which is located between of two buildings. One of the two buildings (small one) has a public character in opposition to the other one, which maintains more privacy. Αpart from the above, it was designed a zone of 3 thematic parks and the entrance to the underground garage on the Kaukatziglou street.

River pavillion
Idea The River pavilion located in the archaeological site of ancient theater in Larissa. Its basic design line was the flow of the Pineios river. In this way emphasizes the character of the pavilion, which means a continuous motion crossing the archaelogical site. Simultaneously, in this way are achieved the union of the two sides and the connection of all activities, which are developed around the area of ancient theater [fort, square, market, coffee shops].
Concept The River pavilion follows the motion of the hill and its floor takes his slope. In additional, the shape of the pavilion ( U ) retains the one side completely closed under the outer space. So, the prespective view is oriented toward the ancient theater. As the basic material for the construction used the metal surface Corten, which has the illusion of corrosion. Τhat means is connected both with the history of the theater and damages in this site over the years. At the same time, is considered to be a contemporary construction using metal frame.

360o of the year Concept The main goal of this project is the replacement of the classic version of the camping. Therefore, we are creating an alternative form of holiday homes, which based on deprivations. Βasic design axis is the desire of a parametric residence. Cause of residence form is the large number of litter on beaches and more specifically and more specifically the soſt drinks, beers, etc.
Αccording to the above, we choose the prefabricated concrete pipes RCP. Specifically with diameter 3.00m. and length 5.00m. . Internally, both at the perimeter and along the length of pipes, we choose drilling holes with depth 0.05m, where are applied metal hooks. In this way we provide tourists with the necessary equipment, which should have been them, conditions of stay. The pipes remain in their original installation points throughout the year. This means that they lose their initial inclination. That is one more reason why drilling holes internally of pipes. So there is the possibility of using the space, in which slope are the pipes.

Coastal eco-intervention
Idea The research region of the project is located in Keramoti. This place is characterized both for its geographical and for the ecosystemic character. Keramoti is the only passage to the island of Thassos while her ecology is extremely diverse, because is located next to the mouth of the Nestos river. This feature makes the coastal region unstable, due to constant beaches changes and dunes creation. The research aims to better development of the region, but also in maintaining her ecosystem. We recommend different routes, which help an easier movement around the coastal region and some installations for the creation of a tourist landmark.
Concept We were initially influenced by the geometry of camping tent, because many parts of the coastal area was designed for that use. Using this shape (pitched roof), we created some primary forms of constructions. In the next step, aſter a visit to Keramoti, we saw that there was necessity for parking areas. It is important to say that the cars were parked on an incline, because of the height difference between the street and the beach. The third and the main objective of the project was the necessity of the division between the parking lots and the beach, so it is impossible for cars to approach and park on the sand. Wanting to collect all the above in a comprehensive plan, we reached the following: _Maintenance of the existing planting _Creation of three different routes (cars, two-wheel vehicles, pedestrians) _Creation of routes so that to create a physical barrier for cars. The height difference between the street and the sidewalk prevents the car access to the beach. _Creation of constructions parallel of beach. Constructions that serves the shading of parked vehicles and they have locker rooms and showers for bathers. For the preservation of the ecosystem, natural and locally materials used. (red tile, marble of Thassos, soil and wood.
