OCTOBER 20-21, 2018
Hey there! AIA Atlanta, Central Atlanta Progress, Midtown Alliance, and our generous sponsors welcome you to Open House Atlanta — a weekend of exciting, curated experiences across Atlanta. 2018 marks our second year of programming that celebrates urban design, historic architecture, and the potential of this growing metropolis. Open House is just as it sounds: a chance for the public to take a peek at spaces otherwise off-limits or difficult to access, free of charge. Atlanta is undergoing rapid transformation, with a community invested in creating a
workable, livable city. Architecture has a unique way of influencing how we experience a place. Open House Atlanta joins over 20 locations worldwide as an official member of the Open House Worldwide Family, celebrating architecture and design. This weekend, plan to visit some of this year’s participating sites, and let friends, family, and followers know about this great opportunity by using our hashtag #OHATL. Visit our website, ohatl.org, for updates and reservations for sites requiring advance reservations.
Participation Waiver By participating in Open House Atlanta (“OHATL”), you agree, without any reservations, that OHATL will be the sole owner of all photographs, images, and recordings of you in any medium in connection with OHATL activities or events, and that these may be used for any purpose by OHATL.

#OHATL OPEN HOUSE ATLANTA 2018
About Open House Worldwide Open House is a simple but powerful concept: showcasing outstanding architecture for all to experience, completely for free.
Open House initiatives invite everyone to explore and debate the value of a well-designed built environment.
The Open House concept was founded in London in 1992 with the aim of fostering a better understanding of architecture outside the profession. The core of this idea lay in the direct experience of the buildings themselves, accessible and free to all, with opportunities to learn, discuss, and debate with experts and citizens alike. The rise of Open House is indicative of an international shift in public awareness of the way cities determine how we live, as well as a growing desire for greater stake in the creation of their city. In an era of rapid urbanization and gentrification, with questions of sustainable design, public space, and housing being the most prominent, Open House offers a more inclusive and open-ended way to engage and acknowledge public voices.
The Open House Worldwide Family was established in 2010 and includes a growing list of cities around the world: • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Athens Atlanta Barcelona Basel Belfast Bilbao Brisbane Buenos Aires Chicago Cork Dublin Galway Gdansk Golynia Helsinki
