The NDIS Scheme provides tax-payer funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

Whilst this scheme is critical to many members of our society, it is unsustainable in its present form. The scheme is readily open to fraudulent activities from many directions, mainly service providers.

Fraud on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Australia has been a concern for quite some time. Whilst the NDIS is a government-funded program designed to provide support and assistance to people with disabilities there is no bottomless pot of money. Unfortunately, some individuals and organisations have taken advantage of the system for their own personal gain to the detriment of those that the scheme is suppose to assist.

Some of the common forms of fraud on NDIS Australia include:

1. False claims: Some service providers may submit false claims for services that were never provided or exaggerate the level of services required by the participant.

2. Double dipping: Fraudsters may charge twice for the same service or receive payments for services that have already been covered by another program or funding source.

3. Kickbacks: Some NDIS participants and their families may be offered incentives or kickbacks in exchange for using specific service providers.

4. Identity theft: Fraudsters may steal personal information to set up fake NDIS accounts or claim benefits on behalf of someone else.

Fraudulent activities can have serious consequences, including criminal charges, fines, and imprisonment. To prevent fraud on NDIS Australia, it's essential to report any suspicious activity to the authorities and stay vigilant about the services being provided. You are paying for any fraud through your taxes.

For the NDIS to survive - it is up to YOU!

Truthful tells us about his neighbour, a farmer named Paddy had a tractor accident. In court, the trucking company’s fancy hot shot lawyer was questioning Paddy. “Didn’t you say, at the scene of the accident, ‘I’m fine,’?” asked the lawyer.

Paddy responded, “Well, I’ll tell you what happened. I had just loaded my favourite cow, Bessie, into the…”

“I didn’t ask for any details”, the lawyer interrupted. “Answer the question, …please. Did you, or did you not say, at the scene of the accident, ‘I’m fine!’?”

Paddy said, “Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer behind the tractor, and I was driving down the road….”

The lawyer interrupted again and said, “Your Honour, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine. Now, several weeks after the accident, he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question.”

By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Paddy’s answer and said to the lawyer, “I’d like to hear what he has to say about his favourite cow, Bessie”.

Paddy thanked the Judge and proceeded. “Well, as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favourite cow, into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my John Deer Tractor right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch, and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurting, real bad and didn’t want to move. However, I could hear old Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans.

Shortly after the accident, a Highway Patrolman came on the scene.

He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning, so he went over to her. After he looked at her and saw her fatal condition, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes.

Then the Patrolman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me, and said, “How are you feeling?”

“Now tell me, Judge, how would you answer???”
