Letter from Valentina January might be a confuse time; it’s the first month of the year and we’re still on vacation mode even though we have to start working again. But now that it’s gone, it’s time to change our mindset and get things straight with ourselves. Our goals for the year have been thought and maybe even written down, but nothing really just come for us – manifestation might be great, but it doesn’t work by itself. That’s why we must go after our dreams and ambitions, because to dream without actually acting is just to think about something. And we’re bigger than this. If January wasn’t your month for any reason, start the year now, it’s okay. Make February great and big for you. Create new projects and have new ideas, the year is still just getting started. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH Rocío and Santiago, could you tell us who you are and how did you get involved with fashion? We are fashion designers and we met in college. We became very good friends, so after finishing our studies we decided to start this Project that is our own brand CruxStudio. How is working in fashion different today than from when you started out? We started a few years ago and today we can say that fashion is much more focused on new technologies. Before designing, we make social tren studies, so our collections are kept up to date with what is happening not only in fashion, but also socially, economically, etc. What do you want to achieve through fashion? We want to be a sustainable brand that provides a new look for the new generations, designing a new textile whose main inspiration is what happens in our society. Are there particular issues within the fashion industry that concern you? If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be? As designers of a sustainable slow fashion brand, we are concerned about mass consumption and the pollution produced by fast fashion. If we could change something in the industry, we would bet on raising awareness among new entrepreneurs to bet on sustainable brands. At this point, new brands cannot be born without a sustainable basis.
In your daily routine, what resources do you like to learn new things about art, fashion? We keep abreast of what is happening not only in fashion, but in the main pillars of our society. So we like to read news, reports, see what other sustainable brands are doing, etc. What's the most important thing you want your potential clients to know about you? We believe that our clients choose us for designing a new aesthetic line that goes hand in hand with sustainability. The added value that we have as a brand is to take care of the entire production chain and make our own textiles. If you could say one thing to someone younger who looks up to you, what would you say? We would say that we thank you very much for taking the time to get to know what we do, but if you would like to dedicate yourself to fashion, with effort and perseverance, it is not so far away! What's been the biggest highlight in your career so far? So far our most outstanding achievement has been entering Vogue Italy's Vogue Talent last November
with our SS 2022 Genesis collection. What does life look like for you now and where do you see yourself in the future? Currently, we work the same as in the beginning and we continue betting on our brand. In the future we would like to continue expanding our reach to customers and become internationally recognized.

Martin Kämmerer Martin, can you tell us about yourself, please. Where do you live now and where are you from? How did you discover photography and what motivated you to get started? Hi, I`m from Germany and I currently live in Frankfurt. I rediscovered photography 7 years ago caused by father who was into portraiture & landscape photography. He showed me his old pictures and taught me everything about exposure, aperture etc. It inspired me and I wanted to do the same things, thus, I had to start doing photography as well. You have a very unique style. How would you describe your photography to someone who has never seen it? Well, I love graphic, bold & stylized images with a lot of contrast. Sometimes my images are kept simple but on the other hand I like to turn things up. Black&white or color, both is fine for me if it fits to my concept. I like to work with different kind of people to show a wide variety of images. What are the most important lessons you have learned about fashion and beauty photography so far? My most important lessons so far are: Always create your own style & build a unique set, play with light, listen to your team members & work with people who are highly creative. Do you remember your first paid photography gig? How did it go? My first paid photography gig actually wasn`t that bad. It was a normal portraiture photoshoot for a client who needed some images for her website. The client I had the photoshoot with was a little bit nervous but talking, sweets and good music always helps. What gives you ideas and what inspires you to create your beautiful images? I carefully observe my environment, watch movies or look at books by famous photographers. Everyday objects also inspire me as they can cast beautiful shadows or add context to your images.
What's the best part of being a photographer? What do you love the most about your job? The best part is having a great photoshoot and meet other people. They motivate me to do the things I love. In your eyes, what is the difference between fashion and beauty photography? What's your favorite? Beauty images of a model feature makeup, hair or accessories and it’s typically head and shoulders only. Fashion photography focus more on clothes and accessories. My favorite genre is fashion photography. What are the biggest challenges of being a photographer? The biggest challenges in my opinion are developing unique, outstanding images and finding a niche. By having both you will differ from other photographers which becomes more and more important. Do you prefer working on location or in the studio? What's your favorite light source, and why do you choose it? I love shooting in the studio as I can control my light perfectly. My favorite light source are strobes because they are more powerful. What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future? I have a new light source attachment (projector with Gobos) which is very cool so I will definitely do more with this. My goal for the future is to learn more about fashion photography, traveling and do some new work in Europe. Where can we see more of your works and get connected with you? Tell us your story, how did you got started modelling and where is your home at the moment? My name is Julie Wuis; I am 30 years old and live for the art of aesthetics in the medical industry. I have always been fascinated with facial dimensions, proportions, and captivated by the evolving beauty of human beings. I became obsessed with fashion, clothes, and design as a young girl. This enthusiasm has led me to a successful career as a cosmetic nurse injector based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Being a healthcare provider in the beauty industry has opened doors for me to model in numerous medical aesthetic magazines internationally. In hindsight, this passion fueled my desire to dedicate my life to a profession that would allow men and women to present their best selves to the world. Tell us more about yourself. What else do you do next to modelling?’ I currently own a business in medical aesthetics called “The Queen of Face”. I am also in graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Outside of aesthetics I work in the emergency room as a registered nurse. I live a very active lifestyle encompassing every sport you can imagine. My favourite activities are cycling, boxing, dancing, swimming, weightlifting, and running. I am also working on my creative side outside of physical activities by learning the violin.
What do you love most about being a model? And, what do you least enjoy? Working with incredible photographers, such as Mr. H, who demonstrate visionary ideas, inspires my work outside of the photoshoot set. Jumping into new creative territory makes it fun to collaborate with photographers and think outside of the box. Stepping into a

My goal on this earth is to positively impact every person I meet, whether a stranger or a friend. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background. My name is Tatiana Glukhova. I am a photographer from Minsk, Belarus. It seems to me that photography has always been in my life. But it is not so! Yes, I took pictures and I liked it, but I started to burn with photography later. I devoted 10 years of my life to tourism, I received a tourism education, I worked in a travel agency, I traveled a lot and I’ve always reflected this in my photography. I like the process itself, when you turn off your head and immerse yourself in creativity.
What are the key ingredients for a striking image? For me, this is primarily an idea that I initially lay down, and a story that I want to tell. These are the feelings and emotions that I want to convey through my photography and that I want to evoke in the viewer. Further, the idea and its mood are overgrown with stylistic details: light, color, location, wardrobe. How long does it take to create one of these wonderful works? It's always different. As a rule, I first carry out such creative shootings in my head. This may take one week or a month. Could you share how you expand your vision of art, as a photographer? I love music and contemporary art for the message and mood they create. In general, art is a huge heritage and a field for inspiration. Museums, art galleries, films and books are all my inspirations. I like to lay out films into frames and study the setting of light on them. Before I got
into photography, I used to watch films because of the story, but now I look from the visual point of view and see what a great work is behind it all! I love films by Wesley Wales Anderson, Pedro Almodovar, Wong Kar-wai, Kim Ki-duk. I also really like to watch fashion shows and in general I like the trends that modern fashion sets. What do you think is the hardest thing in your life you've ever had to overcome? This is a very difficult question for me. If you decompose life into spheres, then in each of them there were losses. It is always painful and difficult to lose... people, love... If we talk about the professional sphere, it is difficult to radically change everything and start over.
What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future? First of all, these are meetings and work with wonderful people who have played an important role in my life and in my development. My work has been published in magazines and on book covers. And I believe that this is only the beginning and that the best is yet to come! I want to travel a lot again and work with international agencies. Who ever said looking sexy should comprise your comfort? These days, that we’re still matching our lockdow habits with our old “normal” life, we're all looking for comfort even when we want to dress up. And sice we’re looking for hot casual outfit ideas and comfy but sexy outfits, the best we can do is find the best ways to make it happen while looking stylish. The Covid-19 situation will likely be under control again soon, but fashion will continue to be shaped by the experience of this big crisis for a very long time ahead, and for that reason our new wardrobe must be comfortable and appear well-dressed at the same time - new garments may have to be developed for this purpose. People will demand more exuberant and body-hugging fashion for going out, while still loking for cozy outfits for the day.

For the chilli weather of winter, the silhouettes of the coats are wide and flared, the puffer jackets are fitted. Long wrap coats and short blouson jackets in dark shades of fake fur or animal print are combined with tight leather pants, shiny leggings or slim dresses. Legs are flaunted even more with high heels and over-the-knee boots –
another hit for the year, keep that in mind. Blazer are crisp with shoulders that are extremely emphasised. Another somewhat casual form of sensual look are tunics and capes, combined with flowing pants. Folk motifs and streetwear garments also come together for a unique look. A patchwork of dif
ferent fabrics and textures and surfaces in colourblocking constitute the essence of another way to look great while jumping on the trend. Nylon, knits, wool and paddings are used to create deconstructed garments, often inspired by college life – the preppy style is going to be even bigger this year. Ribbons, pins and emblems complement the colourful blazers and jackets. Pleated skirts come in both mini and midi, but I do think the mini-skirts are making a huge comeback now, so don’t lose the opportunity to wear them again. Checks on wool blazers, overshirts and fringed skirts carry a hint of the 70s and vintage nostalgia, something that the fashion pack loves. Coarse knitted sweaters or a preppy sweater also compliment the look, as do coarse boots, sneakers and loafers with a high platform and bold frame stitching. Denim pants are also a big go-to piece,
and they are wider, more colourful and, at their best, look handcrafted. For a more casual but very statement look, we should rely on bold colours and clean, minimal shapes. Something like a futuristic form of art deco meeting sportswear, that we all started using a few seasons ago and just couldn’t let go. Deep colours emerge in bicolour looks. Lemon yellow, bright red and apple green lend fresh appeal to classic coats with dropped shoulders. Lacquer is indispensable as a statement material for jackets and pants. Oversize vests and hoodies in are inspired by winter sports and offer protection and style at the same time – great for the cold. Geometric patterns on shiny viscose skirts and knit sweaters are also borrowed from art deco; a futuristic nuance is brought in by loud colours. The colourful turtleneck sweater in jersey or rib-knit represents one of the essential pieces for look, as does the pink blazer or statement boots. The point is, there are so many ways to make the comfortable and sexy look happen! And now is the perfect time to try them all – and even some even more different things, the sky really is the limit – while discovering what works best for you.

Eleonora Molodavkina To begin, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how did you get into the photography world? Do you have any formal training in your background? First of all, thanks for such question and interview. As regard getting into the photography world, it was about 7 years ago, when I was reading fashion magazines and watching pictures. Such good occasion, my mother and me were visiting her friend and while they were talking about everything I was sitting in the armchair and just spending time with editions. Next, I took photocamera and I was trying to replicate some photoshootings. After 7 years I was taking part in Fashion Intensive Course and now I fell that you can learn and learn about photography more and more. What fascinates and motivates you most being a photographer? No wonder for me, that creativity is one of the fascinating side of photography. Sometimes you feel responsible. Sometimes you feel free from any rules. By the way the most important motivation for me is advertising company of luxe brands. When I see works on the billboard, I know that one day I also can be part of such great team and make my own brilliant photo. Tell us a bit more about your project. Is there any particular message you would like to get across to the viewers? Honestly, I enjoy taking just beautiful photos and often I don’t think about sense. This photosession was idea of my team. And I am really thankful to model Eva for
responsible attitude, inspiration and stylish looks. She prepared all of details include studio with appropriate interior. In addition, I am also need to say «thanks» to makeup artist – Julia. It was such professional work from her side. Do you look to other photographers for inspiration, or does your inspiration come from other sources? I noticed that Instagram is strongly influence for my vision. So, I try to follow only my favorite photographers to get inspiration from their success. As regard offline resources, I get a lot of energy and inspiration from nature, variety of colors and diversity of human’s beauty. 5 How has photography influenced or changed you as a person? I really appreciate photo business for freedom. You can choose you own style as in photo as in your behavior and wardrobe. I noticed how I change in different period of my works. If I want to get trend pictures, I start to buy some trend clothes. You have to build adequate relationships with different kind of person and be flexible in varied situation. When did your passion for photography start and what were the main milestones that turned you into the artist you currently are? My passion for photography began when I was taught how to operate a camera and take it to the field of fashion. I think the most important steps I took was to learn how to manage a photo shoot from 0 while I lived in London, then start publishing in specialized magazines and today be able to publish in magazines like Elle. Tell us a bit more about your project "Venetian Romance". Is there any particular message you would like to get across to the viewers? We wanted to highlight the most romantic side of fashion by joining vaporous garments with a place as magical as the Ca' Sagredo hotel in Venice. What are the technical challenges of this kind of photography and how did you overcome them? When did your passion for photography start and what were the main milestones that turned you into the artist you currently are? I got started with photography around 2018 when a friend asked me to help him market his jiu-jitsu company and bought me my first camera. Since then I have been asked to shoot for gyms, weddings, companies' products, law firms, clotheslines, maternity, fashion shows, family photos, just about everything under the umbrella. The biggest milestone was the first time I got paid for the first time. The second was when I got my first laptop for editing about 2 years into photography because before then I was just editing on my phone. The third was when I shot in a studio with my friend, Vicka Vincent, for the first time and we spent almost a good 8 or 10 hours just shooting everything experimenting with all kinds of lighting. It was a lot of fun and I got hooked to studios. Has your vision and style evolved or changed over time? My visions and style have changed so many times over the years. The thing about me is I get so bored easily. Or I like to do something just once and move on to the next thing. For that reason, I am constantly trying to force myself to shoot differently or make changes here or there. Whether it’s a different angle, changing scenery or narrative of the photo, playing around with colors, I’m always looking for the next thing I try or experiment with. How has photography influenced you as a person and what do you love most about being a photographer? Photography has truly been a gift. Photography has given me the wonderful friends I have today. It has given me confidence and a beautiful outlook on life. It has taken me on wild adventures. What I love about photogra-
phy and being a photographer is that I can give back that same love, creativity, appreciation, and courage to my friends, my clients, or whoever I’m working with. I want people to look at their photos and believe anything is possible. What inspires you and what gives you ideas to create your beautiful images? Can your ideas change depending on the model you are working with? There is a quote from a movie I saw called Peaceful Warrior, “There are no ordinary moments.” Meaning every little thing we do, no matter how big or how small that feeling is it’s a special moment that was catered to us. So I draw my inspiration for those moments. I find inspiration in big movies like Spiderman to me just eating a bowl of cereal while I watch the sunrise. When it comes to working with different models I let them inspire me. What are they really like? What is their interest or hobbies and how can I incorporate that into a theme? Other times, if I have a model who I worked with countless times we often just laugh a lot on set cause we're trying crazy poses and ideas. I like to get people involved in the process. It’s not my shoot, it’s our shoot. From your point of view, what makes the shoot successful? Preparation. Have everything planned out as much as possible from lighting to the mood to what they are going to wear, but when it’s time to shoot allow anything to happen. I forgot where I heard this, but there was a saying I heard that went something like. "90 percent is you doing the work, but all the magic is in the last 10%." In addition to being sharp and well lit, your photos are beautifully edited. What is your retouching/production philosophy? When it comes to editing I like to keep the skin makeup as natural as possible or make sure that makeup is as well as it can be so that editing is kept at a minimum and all I want to do is colors and tones.
Fashion can be a somewhat unforgiving industry with a lot of egos, how do you deal with it on set or behind the scenes? It’s about how you approach the people around you. You kinda have to play matchmaker. My team is full of people who know their roles but have wonderful personalities. I teach them how I want them to talk to models and clients to feel welcomed and appreciated. How to be respectful and how to communicate and de-escalate situations. Having good communication skills will always win. I want everyone to feel like they have a place, a role, and a voice in any given project. If you couldn't be a photographer, what would be your other career choice? I would 100% would be an art therapist. I enjoy talking with others and helping people. One of my goals is to continue to grow my business and start a fundraiser or partner with a charity to support people who have been through domestic abuse and start a program where my team and I can teach kids how and allow them to be creative whether it's photography, painting, drawing, writing, acting or digital art. What is one last impression you want to leave in your photographs? Memories. I like to have fun on set and I have a great team that works well with everyone who comes through our studio. What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future? There's been so many everything feels like a step in the right direction. If I had to pick the highlight of my career would be I have asked to shoot with a Chicago Bear football player and his wife and own my first studio. As I continue to grow and connect with others I hope to one day have a large studio where I own an entire floor of a building in downtown Chicago where we're allowed to create and build anything imaginable while overlooking the city of Chicago. A place where creative people can connect and team up on projects or just even hang out. Another dream is I hope to travel around the world
shooting brands and fashion while going on an adventure in the middle of anywhere. The world is a huge place and I want to see it all while doing what I love. To begin, can you please give us a little intro as to what motivated you to become a photographer? I started taking pictures at about 18 when my girlfriend gave me the first "serious" camera: it was an Olympus OM1, obviously analog. Since then I have been fascinated by the possibility of "capturing" the world and fixing moments as the eye and heart of the photographer see them. How would you describe your photographic vision? There are many kinds of photography and each of them has its own peculiar characteristics and "rules"; but in every photograph, to make it different from a shot, there must be light and emotion. Do you remember your first paid photography gig? How did it go? I performed my first paid services while completing my engineering university studies and they were wedding photographs. I was terrified about developing the camera roll (then there was no preview on the monitor) and might find out burnt or blurry shots. In your experience, what are the most difficult aspects of professional photography? In the professional world the greatest difficulty for me is not in knowing how to manage technical or organizational aspects, but in knowing how to "float" above this sea of collec-

What gives you ideas and what inspires you to create your beautiful images? The passion for the world and for beauty in all its forms. What advice would you give to someone looking at a career in photography? I would tell him that it is a difficult world and that to live from photography it takes infinite ability to adapt and the continuous desire to update and fight against mediocrity.
What type of projects are dearest to your heart? Why? I do different kinds of photography, from the underwater naturalistic one to the glamorous one and therefore I have many ideas planned that are difficult to explain in a few words; the main "project", however, is to stay in touch with a world that changes at enormous speed without ever falling too far behind. 8 What is typically in your camera bag and what is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera? In my bag there are two Canon camera bodies (FF and APSC) and several series II lenses: 2 fixed (85mm f / 1.2 and 100 f / 2.8 macro) and various zooms (16-35 f /2.8, 24-105 f/4, 100-400 f/4.55.6). For underwater shots I also have a lot of specific equipment: from the professional diving suit for the camera to the underwater flashes essential for this type of photography.
From your point of view what makes a shoot successful? The true value for the success of a shot is the emotion it gives to you. 10 What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future? I hsve planned to make a publication with my underwater photographs of the Strait of Messina (Italy) and to deepen the collaboration with magazines specialized in Fashion and Glamour, trying to aim for the hightest levels of quality. What is your dream in terms of your career? I have to say that I’m very happy with all the things I have achieved so far. But would be great to work with famous artist, designers, models and maybe one day I will became one of them
What has been your most successful moment to date in your career so far? I think now is my most successful moment. I’m doing more challenging productions with very talented people and I’m getting a lot of recognition and good feedback from colleges. Has your vision and style evolved or changed over time? I learn a lot from every production and also I learn what's things like me the most. I think that the experience makes me have a more mature and complex view. It is something that impulse to do more challenging works What type of models do you prefer to shoot with? Why? I don't have a preferred type of model, I believe each model is unique and I look for a model that fits the idea of the editorial. Can you please explain some of the feelings you are trying to achieve in your photographs? Every editorial is different and provoques different feelings, but from one way or another, I try to impact and inspire the viewers with something new. To begin, where are you based? How long has photography been a hobby and career of yours? What motivated you to get started? I’m based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I started photography as a hobby twenty years ago while I was in college studying system engineering. Since I was a kid I always liked to take photos and one day I decided to try and I took a short course where I learned the basics and I used an analog camera borrowed from a friend. At that time, I didn’t have too much free time so I did a couple of courses, and used the vacations or social events to take photos. Some years after I got my engineering degree, I decided to push harder on photography. I continued studying and also I started exploring other kinds of photography like nightscapes, dance, body painting, concerts, fashion, boudoir. I learned a lot from each experience. Not only the technical side, but also from the people involved and their way of work. In the last few years I concentrated my efforts in fashion. I really like to work with a big team of stylists, makeup artists, hairdressers, designers to achieve something amazing and unique.

I went on many trips to photograph in which I met new people and their culture which changed my vision to life. Exclusive Interview with
Could you please briefly introduce yourself, and tell us about your first encounter with photography? Who has influenced you to start taking photographs? I am Timo S. Saari, fashion-fantasy photographer, Ph.D. I am also an experimental emotion psychologist and Professor of Design with positions in Stanford University, UC Berkeley and Michigan State University. My mother was an award-winning photographic journalist so as a kid I went with her to many shoots. As a teenager I one day picked up her camera and started taking pictures. Luckily, I also ended up with competition/fashion models as girlfriends so started shooting them for the competitions and doing promo material. Wedding dress designer/ tailor grandparents infused me with love for couture as I wondered around the atelier as a kid in awe of the grand dress designs, sparkling accents and flowing silky fabrics. Got first educated as TV and photographic journalist and worked in national TV-news, documentary, as program host, also TV field director and as freelance news-reportage photographer. I got scouted to run the media psychology research division of a Scandinavian media conglomerate collaborating with MIT MediaLab and Stanford. Then turned to emotion psychology and design in games, tech and advertising co-founding seven international design labs. Worked in US and Europe as professor in emotion design. Now back to my roots in artist mode, mixing photography with couture, which is my first true passion. From your point of view, what are the most difficult aspects of professional photography? Crafting and capturing believable emotion exactly how you want it and where you want it. It is also the most fascinating part of photography one can never be too good at. I have angles on emotion as designer, photographer and scientist with 20+ years of running experimental psychology labs for global emotion design clients in games, tech and advertising.
As the expert you are, what are the unique features of this kind of photography and the keys to master it? Crafting and capturing emotion is a mix of art and science. The true masters of this area are great classic and contemporary artists both traditional and abstract. So, mastering emotion in photography is an ideal one can surely approach. I prefer to think of it as a journey and experiment a lot taking best results to my work with clients. In your opinion, how beauty is perceived at the present age? What does photography mean to you personally and what really makes a woman or man beautiful? Beauty ideals are currently more inclusive of body shapes and skin tones as before. To me this is great, so I can work with a greater range of models with more variations. I have been judging internationally licensed beauty pageants and pro-modeling competitions for several years in top modeling agencies. This is great training to understand the essence of female and male beauty. It simultaneously provides access to the global beauty pageant and model competition arenas, talent and agencies. It also provides real feedback. For instance, as part of our modeling agency’s team I witnessed the winners of our modeling competitions presenting themselves to top 20 global agencies with a hundred other global models in Paris in a hotel grand ballroom for a day. Seeing who got callbacks for next days, how our model team compared with other teams, what model types did the Paris vs. Milan vs. Tokyo vs. New York agencies go after was illuminating. Later seeing our models land contracts with major agencies in Paris and Milan with options for the absolute top global brands like Balmain you know the panel of judges made the right choice. So, the type of female and male beauty we judged to be best is successful in real-life conditions in a highly competed global market. Same applies to Miss Universe- type beauty pageants.
What type of models do you prefer to shoot with? Why? Casting criteria vary a lot between clients. My go-to is a classic fashion model 177180 cm tall with clean, straight runway proportions and dramatic facial features, lively eyes and some acting skills. Hair long or mid-long to enable different looks. Borderline supermodel is ideal, but not quite there. For personal creative work, the most important criterion for model is connection. Perhaps the most powerful source of creative energy is the tension between the Artist and the Muse. In stereotypical terms, the more beautiful the female/male Muse, the more magnificent the art piece, a proven if controversial fact in art history. My best images have been produced with models who inspire me, communicate well and actively participate in the shoot with new ideas. At the extreme muse-level inspiration with my favorite models during the shoot I can just think what I want and they seem to already be doing it without me even saying anything. It feels like magic, being engulfed in a flow of self-propelled creative energy with models reporting the same experience which we then laugh and joke about afterwards. For my most ambitious art shoots I always choose the currently strongest candidate amongst my Muses, all of them competition models, prototypical runway-supermodel or Miss Universe types, not a new, untested model no matter their portfolio. In commercial work, depending on client’s needs I find the runway model prototype produces best results for most. Couture looks great and product placement or accessories in images have that extra pop due to the runway-supermodel vibe present. This model type also makes my emotion design easier to do but of course great results can be achieved with any model type as it depends on what the client is trying to achieve.

You are going about conducting a photoshoot, could you take us through the typical planning process for your images? With a client I work with a brief, often developing it to make sure they get what they want and presenting them with possibilities of emotion design to achieve their goals in each distribution channel such as brand awareness, client mobilization or just direct sales. I research the initial concept and look for inspirations in art, music, movies, design. Then I just wait a bit for the creative process to work. The inspired idea arrives as a sudden gestalt flash, more or less a complete package with instructions on what to do. I then do design sketches for the concept which I often send to stylist and my makeup artist. I have my own extensive couture atelier so I can play around to refine the concept or even provide the couture or accessories for the clients shoot. Based on the refined concept I communicate with client and cast the model often from my own network of modeling agency contacts and models personally in Europe and US. Finalized concept is then used to pull couture and accessories and book the location. In addition to being sharp and well lit, your photos are beautifully edited. What is your retouching/production philosophy? Retouching and post-production should be as natural as possible. Any special effects I prefer to do in-camera. For me, natural skin texture is a must as is properly done color grading.

Get into a good modeling agency and attend courses for modeling to gain insight of your strengths and hence your market. Where are your images/ performance most competitive and sell best? Experiment. Find photographers who inspire you. Contact them with a pitch for a shoot or your availability. Unfortunately, top photographers are expensive but they can turn out magnificent results for portfolio. You can also connect with a good photographer who is inspired to do creative work with you, like an editorial or art piece with no payment. Be proactive, try to connect with the photographer, be inspiring, internalize the concept, practice in front of mirror or friends before shoot, add ideas and be active and communicate before, during and even after the shoot. Think about the shoot and collaboration afterwards. Can you not wait to do another shoot like this? How good are the photos? Repeat. If you find a connection or flow of collaboration which feels like magic, stay there as this will most likely lead to the best possible images for you. At the end you find your favorite photographers and your portfolio will grow as will your un-
derstanding of where your market is. What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future? I typically travel in major fashion hubs Europe and US to do shoots on location several weeks at the time. Last year I was in Milan doing six shoots in four weeks and in Paris doing two shoots. Before that I shot in New York, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, The Hague, South of France and Rome. This year, depending on travel conditions, I plan to tour in Europe for several shoots, most likely Paris, Milan and London as top teams and agencies as well as clients are easier to reach there. Oksana, could you tell us please, who you are and how you got involved with fashion? I would like to answer your question ironically: I AM A HAPPY PERSON! In fact, there is no irony in this. I am a happy person indeed, because now I have the opportunity to do what I love and I am free to create fashionable clothes, which, in my opinion, are just perfect for women as happy as me. Do you make clothes for happy women only? Is it a hint that your clothes are not for everyone? That's right, in today's business, you should try to flirt with all your customers, but you don't have to please everyone. As Henry Ford said, "If I asked people what they wanted, their answer would be faster horses." So in the fashion industry, customers themselves do not know what clothes they will like tomorrow. And I am glad, because nature had gifted me with what is called flair, as well as a good sense of harmony and beauty. And I am excited that I can share this positive quality of mine with people through fashion. My clothes are made of highly qualified fabrics and luxurious accessories. I realize that for this reason it is not for the mass market, which is filled with third-rate things. However I do what I love and I am glad to have the freedom of expression that many can only dream of. And how did you come to this, how were you involved in the fashion industry? You are not going to believe it, but my first experience of self-expression in the sphere of design occurred when I was 8 years old. Then I suddenly decided to experience myself in the field of furniture design. This thought came to me as an insight, and I immediately began to realize my creative ideas. And, since it took place in the kitchen, the chair became the first victim of my creative ideas. I was absolutely sure that it would be better for it to become an ottoman on low legs. In just 2 hours, I managed to saw off the legs of the chair and repaint what was left of it in a different, more fashionable color. And by the time my
mother came home from work in the evening, this “masterpiece” of modern furniture design was ready to impress with its beauty and sophistication. Mom's reaction to the fact that one chair is now missing could be different. However she has chosen to praise me: “Wow! That's so beautiful!" I guess these mother's words inspired me for further creativity, and I am very grateful to her. My second "masterpiece" was already closer to the fashion industry. This time I paid attention to the curtains that were hanging in our living room. I made a wonderful dress out of them and decorated it with lovely cessories from gold-plated rings, which I previously borrowed from the chandelier in our living room. Now I am surprised with my mother's patience. At that moment, she supported me again. Now I realize that her wisdom and patience were quite essential to me back then. And that's what allowed me to find the courage and make changes this is an important quality that all creative people and innovative managers need.

Seriously, how did you get into the fashion industry? If seriously, I did not come to the fashion industry right away. Before that, I had received two degrees. One of them was in the sphere of directing, and the second one is in the economy. I was engaged in business for a long time managed a large enterprise a distributor of food products in Ukraine, moreover, I was the founder and head of a publishing agency that specialized in the production of glossy magazines about food culture. At the same time, I’ve always tried to dress with taste and often attracted attention at various events. I have always been into fashion, its history; I was attracted by the topics of authentic style and modern methods of designing clothes. Over time, people began asking me for a piece of advice on style in clothes. And this prompted me to study the topic of modern fashion more deeply and more consciously. Later, this led me to create my own clothing line Dam Damian. After all these years of routine that I had in business, this was like a breath of fresh air for me. I felt that this creative activity corresponded to my natural talents. And it became unbelievably inspiring to me. Confucius was right when he said: Do what you love and you will never have to worka day in your life. I'm glad that it's about me! How do you create your new collections? How do you get inspired? Perhaps, you want me to reveal some essential secret to you? Maybe, I am going to surprise you, but I will not make a secret out of this. I share the technology with you for free. This can be compared to all the discoveries that occur in the world, even scientific ones: 1) First things first, you need to be very well versed in the issue that you are fond of. 2) Next, you should study attentively what is happening in the industry right now, what trends affect people's choice, what new materials and technologies appear. I sincerely believe that a good fashion designer should be an educated and erudite person. 3) Another important quality that is required by everyone who wants to create something new is the ability to consciously and vividly experience all the events of life, not to live like a robot automatically, but visa versa, to notice sharply and sensually everything that is happening around
you. This quality needs to be strained and trained constantly. 4) However the most important point on my list, which helps me to create a new collection, is the ability to relax at the right time and wait for the insight. It was as an inspiration, I had the idea of creating a headdress - a transformer, consisting of three parts: a baseball cap, a knitted hat and a massive hoop - an ornament reminds royal aesthetics. At first, I saw it in my imagination, and then my team worked on how to organize the release such a headdress for half a year. The main problem was that the decoration we required didn’t exist at all and we had to invent a way to produce it. How does your life look like now and where do you see yourself in the future? How does my life look like now? I’ve noticed that when I began to do my favorite thing, a source of additional extra energy opened up in me. Now, in addition to my work as a fashion designer, I also manifest myself as an artist (I paint in oils), host a television program, organize events where I unite the creative people of the city, run my own fashion blog and fulfill my duties of beloved mother and wife . How do I see myself in the future? I try not to think too much about the future. I love what's happening to me right now. I like being here and now. I enjoy becoming a little better every day. And the future, well, let it take care of itself! I am sure that with such an attitude, the future can turn out even better than I can imagine!
