ringwood lake park

Who doesn’t love visiting a park with a lake? Clearly the highlight of this 8.5 hectare park. It has such a lovely natural feel and the beautiful gums provide a lovely shade cover.

The playground uses limited colours, featuring mainly wood and metal, with a fun highlight of red. This allows it to blend into the natural bush setting. It’s also a fun juxtaposition to the bustling Maroondah Highway and Ringwood in general, all on its doorstep, because you really do feel like you are in a beautiful bush setting.

The playground features a network of play trails that weave through the trees. Follow the ramps to explore the tree canopy. Play under the canopy trail, along the forest floor, as well as in the creek area with water and sand play. Features include climbing nets, rock climbing grips on wooden posts, track glides, all abilities swings, monkey bars, balance platforms, and a giant wooden slide tower up in the tree tops. A ground level spinning platform was a real hit and there are lots of wooden animal sculptures to fuel children’s imaginations or just provide a fun spot to stop and catch your breath.

Top it all off with shaded picnic shelters and barbecues and make use of the 1km walking circuit. Do note; the lake is not fenced off, so kep a keen eye on your wee-ones.
