Spring awakening
Across seven Saturdays this spring, you’re invited to get outdoors and celebrate Sydney’s unique neighbourhoods. Traffic will stop, for one day only, in Surry Hills, Pyrmont, East Sydney, Redfern, Haymarket, Glebe and Potts Point. These neighbourhoods will transform into trafficfree areas to walk, shop and dine. Acoustic musicians and roving entertainers will perform throughout the day. After a successful pilot earlier this year with ‘Summer Streets’, the program is back to get you out and about and enjoy what Sydney’s fantastic neighbourhoods have to offer. Crown Street, Surry Hills will kick the series off with a bang on Saturday, 1 October. There’ll be everything from window burlesque dancers at Sky Sirens and an 80s- style aerobics class at Hiscoes Gym to a doggie treat station at the Trinity and pet games and competitions at Vets on Crown. You’ll also see drag queens at the Clock Hotel, giveaways from All About Salon and tastings at Surry Hills Fine Wines.
