Baby give back

How many times have you stuffed a bag of kids’ clothes into a charity bin and wondered where they will end up? Or wondered what to do with that pram or safety gate you no longer need. Our kids grow up at such a rapid rate so many kids’ items are still in fantastic condition when they are no longer needed. So what can we do with these items so we know they are going to a great new home? Baby Give Back is a Queensland charity passionate about helping vulnerable babies, children and families in our community by providing preloved (in great condition) and brand-new items to a wide range of dedicated local not-for-profit charities within Queensland. The idea for Baby Give Back was born when their founder Carly had completed her family and wished to pass on her baby items that were still in excellent condition. Taking inspiration from sister organisation St Kilda Mums, Carly began collecting items and connecting with agencies, and her garage quickly became a makeshift storage shed. Quickly growing, and the need in the community ever increasing, Baby Give Back moved into a warehouse in Burleigh Heads in 2018 and then into a larger home in Varsity Lakes in 2020. We are currently working on expanding into Brisbane. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that vulnerable babies and children have an equal start to life. Baby Give Back collect, sort and safety check donated essential items (everything from clothing and nappies to cots, prams and car seats) and support families in the community by working with caseworkers and social workers to provide customised orders for each family to suit their needs and circumstances. Their priority is ensuring that all items are safe and in great condition so that families can feel the love and compassion of their community. Powered by an army of incredible people who share their vision, their volunteers are the heart of what they do. On any given day, the warehouse is bustling with the chatter and energy that these incredible people bring to the community. With the courage to do whatever it takes to achieve their mission and the backing of their incredible community, Baby Give Back provides judgement free support to thousands of babies and children each year.

Do you have gently-used essential baby items such as a cot, pram or car seat that are no longer using? Books, baby and children’s clothing, bottles and even open packets of nappies are all welcome too.
