SOME LIKE IT BLONDE!

IN 1968, SINDY HAD A NEW LOOK AND THIS SINDY FOREVER BECOME KNOWN AS THE 'MARILYN' SINDY...

Pedigree Toys had began working on some new dolls in 1967 for release the following year. They had been experimenting with head vinyls, face paints, new hair fibres and styles.

The Weekender Sindy was given a makeover and came with a new softer hair fibre, and a fresher looking face. When this new 'platinum white blonde' hair fibre was styled it went very curly - and, although she was also available in brunette and auburn - she became known to collectors as the ‘Marilyn’ Sindy.

The 'Marilyn' Sindy is also distinguishable by her four painted eyelashes, bright red lips and posable wire legs. The new vinyl on her face does tend to pale very badly and her fragile hair tends can go wooly. This however does not diminish her everlasting appeal.
