Pedestrians liven up a city, thus the city should liven up for them as well. Underground walking does not inspire confidence in us, and we constantly have reservations about it. Walking down the roadside appears to be the most realistic choice, albeit there is a safety concern. Why not create a new plane that divides the city vertically into two portions, one for automobiles and one for pedestrians, allowing people adequate room and openness? In the event of a pandemic, the motorised transition may be given with commercial streets where they can only buy from their automobiles, while our pedestrians can have their own commercial streets with plenty of open space.

Lunar Space Design Competition Ever since the beginning of mankind, we have developed an unexplained affinity towards the various celestial bodies around us, our captivation being held by the Moon at the center of all of it. With space exploration entering its golden age, we will now need architects and designers to create interplanetary human habitation beyond Earth. The challange was to design a Lunar Experience Centre + Research Centre for the first humans to enhance their stay on Mars with the aim to design a selfsustaining living space for these initial inhibitants.

The studio aimed at designing an institution which would house functions to develop skills of people living in nearby chawls. It will enable them to have new means of income while taking care of their children through balbhavan and allowing other members of family to add to the family income. This centre will be the foundation place of honing their talents and progress towards a better life. Brick with sloping roof has been used to let denizens connect with the institution as its the image of a home people are most acquainted with, while providing a vernacular identity to the institution.

The studio researched the potential of the application of combining unit design for the economically weaker sections and the middle-income sections to the development of housing in high-density low-rise urban environments to examine ways in which these modular compositions can be arranged to create public and private spaces and connections with their existing urban surroundings.
