1 CITY ROOM META ARCHITECTURE CA Site, Banashankari 6th stage, Bengaluru CITY ROOM will be a place where many 'citizens' will come and congregate to inhabit the space for a short to medium period of time on a regular or recurring basis. These residents will mostly come from adjacent communities, although they will not be limited to that. It will be a vast gathering communal location, and the common thread here is the 'City', which generates opportunity for all. The hint from this facet paved the path for the city to live and breathe in this location! As a result, the concept of a 'CITY ROOM' is designed to be a shared environment for all. SITE AREA: 35045 Sq meters

META drives us to understand & comprehend the enterprise od architecture on its own terms. it drives us to curate A STORY OF ARCHITECTURE narrated by Architecture itself.... A sort of AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF ARCHITECTURE. How do we to do this?.... Do we look like Apriori Physical Attributes.... its Essential Elements... its deep armature.... its Motif identification?.... Is Syntax a good word? Do we erect Binaries to pitch Architecture against itself..... a sort of Point/ Counter point argument

Migrant worker housing Oklipuram , Bangalore, Karnataka

The project aims to design affordable, sustainable, and culturally sensitive housing for migrant workers in Bangalore. The goal is to create a community-oriented space that provides a sense of belonging, addresses the unique needs of migrant workers, and integrates seamlessly into the urban fabric. BUILT UP AREA: 4500 Sq meters

Spatial Requirements: Individual living units with basic amenities. Common Spaces for social interaction and community -building. Facilities for skill development and education. Adequate green spaces for recreation. The concept of migrant housing involves designing living spaces specifically tailored to the needs, challenges, and cultural backgrounds of individuals or communities who have migrated from their place of origin to a new location for work or other reasons. This type of housing aims to provide more than just shelter; it seeks to create a supportive environment that promotes well-being, community integration, and a sense of belonging.

"The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members. Providing dignified housing for migrants reflects the soul of a compassionate and inclusive community." - Nelson Mandela

3 CROSSROAD Residential project RT Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka The design for the private residance of the migrant mason primarily came from his shift from Tamil Nadu to Bangalore which put forward a mix of tradition in modern context. The main focus was an to reinterpret the traditional courtyard house spacial, elemently and maintaining connection with nature SITE AREA: SITE AREA- 120 Sq meters

RESPONDS TO THE SITE • Considering climate factors • Sence of privacy so that common areas can be more interactive. • Functionality • Placement of containers. The massing of the house was divided into two blocks- public and private which are connected by a semi open traditional space.

4 NESARA An Urban Health Center – Biophilic Approach JAYANAGAR, BANGALORE Biophilic design is an approach to architecture that seeks to connect building occupants more closely to nature. It is more than just a philosophy— Biophilic design can reduce stress, enhance creativity and clarity of thought, improve our well-being and expedite healing; as the world population continues to urbanize, these qualities are ever more important. The site, 3700 sqm is designed to improve the health of the users as well as the neighborhood.

The site is located in Jayanagar second block. There is an exsisting BDA complex. The site which is 3000 sqm is located within a dense urban residential neighborhood with some mixed use buildings. It is surrounded by buildings on all the sides and is connected to two main roads on two sides. The region around Jayanagar came under the control of Kempe Gowda in the 16th century. He dug several lakes in the area to support agriculture. Bangalore has a handful of freshwater lakes and water tanks,

I T E R A T I O N S

The biophilic intent of this project is refuge and prospect. A space with a good Refuge condition feels safe, providing a sense of retreat and withdrawal – for work, protection, rest or healing – whether alone or in small groups. A good refuge space feels separate or unique from its surrounding environment; its spatial characteristics can feel contemplative, embracing and protective, without unnecessarily disengaging. A space with a good Prospect condition feels open and freeing, yet imparts a sense of safety and control, particularly when alone or in unfamiliar environments.

Vidhyarthi Bhavan, the legendary eatery has been reigning supreme in the dosa and coffee department since 1943. Whether you’re a true blue Bangalorean or a noob in town, you owe this place a pilgrimage. The ravenous students of National High School and Acharya Patashala, inspired Venkatramana Ural, a native of Udupi, to start a small canteen just for them in 1943. vFlanked by the colourful stalls of Gandhi Bazaar, Vidhyarthi Bhavan sits unassumingly in the midst of the bustling market.

SUBVERSION

Landmark | Constant | Facade | Quickness

Chaos | Fast-paced | Congested | Enclosed

Vidyarthi Bhavan has maintained its presence consistently amidst its surroundings over the years. The primary focus of the space predominantly lies in its enduring façade, which has gradually evolved into a recognizable landmark. The proposal aims to emphasize the preservation of the façade’s elements while incorporating the existing materials found within the space.

Slow | Porous The concept of Subversion in this context aims to decentralize the notion of speed and transform it into a leisurely environment, incorporating the element of time by making fast-paced activities time-bound and slow-paced activities unchanging.
