It's Time for Project TEACH
150+ Chamber Volunteers Needed to Visit 4th Grade Classrooms Across Manatee County on March 14
Join the Manatee Chamber as we present the Project TEACH program at area elementary schools on Thursday, March 14. Project TEACH is designed to increase career awareness among 4th grade students. For many of the children, this is one of the first times they have had a business volunteer in their classroom and the first time they have been exposed to careers other than those of their parents.
More than 150 volunteers will be needed to reach every classroom. Volunteering is EASY and takes only a few hours of your time.
Volunteers help the students complete an activity that encourages the students to explore what type of job/career they are thinking of for their future. Along the way, the volunteer uses prompts to share their own career pathway and talk about what they do for their job.
An orientation and breakfast will be provided before volunteers head to their classrooms on the morning of March 14. If you have a specific school or teacher request, please let us know when registering as a volunteer.
Schedule on March 14:
7:00 AM Orientation breakfast at Wakeland Support Center (optional for repeat volunteers)
8:45 AM Arrive at assigned school 9:00–10:00 AM Classroom activity
Sign up online to volunteer by visiting ManateeChamber. com/TEACH. You can also send an email to NzingaB@ ManateeChamber.com or call 941-748-3411.
